Carnivalesque Entertainment: Bellydance & Vaudeville --- more info puhleeeeeeze! I made a point to attend the show after just signing up for Bellydance classes two weeks ago back home, and am so glad I did! Those girls were absolutely stunning. Beautiful artistry. Gorgeous dancing, tremendous isolations, and sexy as all get out too! The Vaudeville acts were great too (later, my hubby told me the "guy" was actually a girl when he heard her voice after the show!). All I heard them say is that they are based out of Chattanooga, but Google doesn't return any results. Bonnaroo.com lacks any description/info for them.
I captured some video on my iPhone, wish I did the entire show!
My cousin and I will definitely be there and we will be volunteering as pourers of that lovely liquid called beer, in the Beer Tent by the Main Stage Fri & Sat!

I walked by the secret set on the way to PHJB. I thought it was them b/c I thought I heard the chord progression from "My Head Is A Flame," but we were like "Nah, they totally wouldn't be doing that. Missed out :/
Cults. I didn`t give a damn that they were 15 minutes late once they started playing. Fun set that started a 16 hour Saturday off on the right foot.
Cults actually disappointed me because I love them so much otherwise and their set was so lack-luster. Aside from being late they also rushed off the stage and didn't have much personality. I'll stick to listening to them on Spotify. Glad you had a good time though.

It made me even more giddy than I already was as I was walking away from Petty in the crowd that I saw some graffiti that said "Forgive Kanye." Just let it go. Yes he's a brilliant performer. Yes he's headliner material. Yes it's going to happen sooner or later.

Yeah I've seen him take legitimate sax solos, but the first one of his set was almost certainly fake. He wasnt playing into a stand mic and he didn't have a clip-on mic.
There was a guy tripping and screaming out random sugary cereal brands (coco puffs, fruity pebbles) until someone yelled SHREDDED WHEAT and he replied "Quack THAT!" hahaha
if you liked planet earth, blue planet, etc. check this small series on discovery. i just learned that monkeys make their own bug spray by rubbing the leaves of a bitter plant all over themselves b/c the bugs don't like it. so cool.

You can watch five of his songs on the ustream archive. Here's one (Know Til Now) where he has a sax solo:
And you're right, it does look kinda fake now that you point it out. At first, I thought he must have had a remote mic or something on the sax, but I don't know how (or if) that even works.
Still, a phenomenal set and had a blast dancing on the left side.
Edit: Geez, they won't let me link to anything. just go to ustream and find the archived video.
AGGH I foolishly failed to stop by the merchandise tent for fear of missing something while waiting in line and I have since regretted it! I want the black zip up hoodies desperately! It is one of the items that is not shown on the Bonnaroo merchandise website. ROAR!!! If anyone is selling theirs or considering it I will gladly take it off your hands! (for a price obviously.)
I've been to roo 3 times and still don't have a full understanding of what happened with him. Someone care to explain?
From what I have gathered, someone correct me if I am wrong, it goes like this. He was originally scheduled to close out Which, but sometime late in the process (maybe even the day of?) asked to be moved later so that the light show he had prepared would be more effective. So, they moved him to What after the headliner...however, he didn't actually perform until much later than his rescheduled time (something like 4am).
that's pretty much it. it would show on the screens: 'kanye west will now start at xx:xx' and they kept moving the time back...and then moving it back some more. for a solid hour before he started there was no activity on the stage - it looked like everything was set up and ready to go. he came out and didn't say sorry or even acknowledge the crowd. the sunrise ended up ruining the second half of his light show. it was a pretty lame premise for a show - he was the only person on stage and he had these awkward conversations with his robot spaceship he was flying on. i think he ended up crashing on an alien planet or something. it sounded great though. flashing lights booming from the full power of the what stage was pretty damn epic.
AGGGHHH! I am totally in the same boat. My boyfriend kept asking me if I was sure I didn't want to stop at the merchandise tent and at the time I just felt like I was wasting my time waiting to buy stuff but now I wish I wasn't an ass! I want the zip up sweat shirt so bad! I am keeping my eyes peeled. It's one of the items that isn't shown on the Bonnaroo website!! roar!!
