I saw 2 fights this year. One at Boys Noize. A dude was laying down a bit outside of the tent when a train of people came through and at least 3 dudes stepped on him without an apology or anything. They just kept walking and yelling. The dude hopped up and was pretty much like "hey what gives" to the dudes. They turned around, there was a lot of yelling and a couple shoves but it was broken up before any punches were thrown.
The second was at Wu-Tang. This dude was sitting on the ground eating a sandwich talking to his girlfriend. This guy who was wayyyy too drunk came up with his buddies and smacked the sandwich out of his hand then yelled at him "What the f*ck are you doing eating while Wu Tang was on stand up mother f*cker" so the dude sitting down stood up and punched him. It got broken up really quickly as well luckily.

Got in line on HW 55 northbound at 5:30. As per usual, we were routed to Bushy Branch. Wasn't really paying attention to the exact time but we got to our campsite somewhere between 6:30 and 7. We got put in the middle left Camp Mr. Mills in Pod 2 (right below East 1st St). We were fully expecting (and kind of aiming for) Pod 1, but were amazed when we got that spot and could see the What Stage from our camp! Best campsite (but not closest) I've ever had at Bonnaroo!

The only reason this is possibly #2 is because of Paul McCartney's set. I still can't decide. I wish I could have been on the rail, but at least I was able to make it inside the tent and spent the show with almost all of my friends that were at Roo.

I love the pit option and think its totally worth it. If I see an unruly crowd that looks like they're willing to fight for a spot I just step back to the side and find a great view. Once everyone is in I might check to see if there is still room for a few more.

* Araabmuzik - took them 15 minutes to hook up a laptop, and then he looked like he didn't even want to be there.
* Ariel Pink — his attitude ruined the show for me, as he acts like he's a brilliant musician instead of letting his music do the talking for him.
* Cat Power - She looked completely uncomfortable and out of touch with reality. "My Oklahoma sticker fell off. Hi America!" Just odd... she was fidgety, shaky. Was almost painful to watch.
* Dirty Projectors — people rave about them, but it's just not my thing. I gave them a solid chance for a few songs and then had to bail out of boredom.
* R. Kelly - that intro was a clusterquack. 60 seconds of singing then we have to wait for two minutes while the crane lowers him? He should have just kept singing... The lighting was awful and you couldn't see a thing.
* James McCartney — clearly he didn't get his dad's amiable personality.
* Swans — Not my thing. Monotonous and boring.
* Divine Fits — Again, just not my thing. Bailed after 1.5 songs. I felt it was unoriginal.
I second all of the usual complaints about the fixable, yet steadfast problems at Bonnaroo: Which ditch, no sight lines outside of the tents, terrible sound at Which, acts booked for the wrong stage (holy jeebus the crowd at The Lumineers!), etc.
My only complaint outside that was the quacking all-nighter at the clock tower on Sunday night. Jesus H. Bonnaroo, the festival is over. Do we really have to hear the untz until morning? Some of us would like to get at least a couple hours sleep before trekking 8 hours back to civilization in our car. WTF! I don't need to hear "Autobots, Let's Roll" unless I'm eight years old.
Could be. I've never been in the pit, could have just been a one time deal. How long did you have to wait for McCartney? I was planning on staying away from the pit forever after this, but I may give it a go next year.
I waited from as soon as the What field opened. There were probably about 50 people in front of me. But I think they let the left side in first. On Friday the pit wasn't separated by two sides but was instead one big pit. So because if that I wound up five rows back dead center.
It's definitely worth it, especially for shows like that. For the non-headlining shows, you can usually get a good spot by arriving before the previous set starts. Like last year, for The Roots, I arrived just before Santigold started and got center two rows back.
I have no idea what was going on in that line lol. I know when people finally made it into the pit it looked like they had been through hell and back. I think because they were only letting so many people in at a time, everyone in line was trying to rush to the front of the line to get in sooner.
They were doing that all weekend to good success. You'd think there would have been trampling in the McCartney pit line and there wasn't. Must have just been a freak run of events. I still think they should always run the pit lines like this.
In b4 people come in and try to say "SEE THIS IS WHY THEY SHOULDN'T BOOK RAP ACTS" crap.

festival producers like to make money and a broad spectrum of acts is a good way to that. unfortunatly for all of us there just arent enough jam bands to put on four straight days of shows. if positivity is the idea how is profiling and hating doing that. sir paul would be apauled. the idea is to "COME TOGETHER". I found everyone to be very helpful sharing and caring. however im also not a one dimensional music lover and am thankful all the musicians of the past paved the way for the creative unscenscored music we have today. let's not forget the men and women that have died fighting for the rights and freedoms we have. u wanna waste that on profiling people and wining on this thread cause roo didnt only cater to u this year!!! boo hoo. lets all come together and love one another right now. ur only adding to the negativity u say u dislike. peace

The National pit line was great after Kendrick. Everyone stayed in a single file line and walked in. The security guy in charge of the gate just leaned forward against the rail and shook his head, told a few people to enjoy the show as they passed by.
It was our first year as well, passed the grounds on I-24 southbound at around 1:45 AM, all the way down to exit 127, then sat in traffic forever before finally making it into the east gate and Camp Mortimer Duke in Pod 10 around 7am. Not an ideal spot, but we had awesome neighbors and made it work. Heard from some others who arrived in line around 8am and were parked in less than an hour. I want to do that next year. I would actually be just fine with a similar spot next year, which was almost as BFE-as-you-can-be, if we only had to sit in traffic for an hour! On a positive note, I learned that my car could idle for around 10 hours and only use around a quarter-tank of gas, which was nice. We'll be bringing less shiz with us next time, and may opt to make a run for TO if we arrive in time and get stuck in BFE again.
The logic is that the Lee Fields and Macklemore fans don't get shut out by Kendrick Lamar fans.
What exactly happened?

Ah, that's awesome. Hopefully, the cabin will come together before then.
Who is in charge of the cabin rental? We'd definitely go in for that if there is room for two more.
That would be me, but honestly the cabin is looking less and less likely by the hour. Unless I find something really nifty in the next two weeks, my friends and I are probably going the hostel route.
They are holding off on reservations for october until July 1st. The only thing is that there are only 42 beds available of different quality, and the person that I spoke with earlier said that for the weekend of Moog all of the beds will be sold out by the time the day is over.
So once 9 AM July 1st rolls around I'm going to call and reserve 4 pods. They're only $35 a night. And you don't have to pay anything up front to reserve them, just give a credit card number.
The only thing though is that it is located directly above a bar with live music so unless you plan on going to bed after 2AM you might have trouble with the noise.

That guy was amazing!! I was waiting for Paul and some people tried to cut and he started to count to five before he was going to call the cops and then they left. That man knew what he was doing and did it well.

To the guy with shoulder length brown hair, wearing a black tank top, jeans, and boots, in the pit for Paul McCartney (on the right). I yelled Helter Skelter during the intermission between the end of the set and the first encore. You held my hand and jumped up and down with me when he played Helter Skelter and it was amazing. You had on a 'Guest' wristband... you were with 2 girls and a guy. I was too shy to talk to you afterwards. You are gorgeous.
After Rocky Horror Picture Show, my friend sat down from me and we talked about our Thursday. As we were talking, my friend screamed "oh, shiz, it's Jim James!!!"
He was with his girlfriend and a bunch of random VIP people. Without hesitation, we ran up to the VIP section and sat a few chairs back from Jim. Before Trapped in The Closet started, there was an R-Kelly music video dance along, and my friend and I got up and danced around a group of people and Jim and his girlfriend to Bump N Grind. After Ignition was over, I was trying to pass Jim and said "Excuse me sir.". But instead of moving along he stopped dead in his tracks and looked at me square in the eyes. I was speechless and brain dead. All I said "Thank you for your music and I can't wait for the superjam." He said thank you after that and we parted ways to jam out to Trapped. Wednesday was brutal for me because i lost EVERYTHING that day (tent, camelback, etc.), but meeting Jim made everything okay. He even winked at me at the Preservation's show and the Superjam. I'm forever grateful to Bonnaroo, especially R Kelly
This was more scary than crazy i guess, but during The xx we saw what looked like a fight at first, but apparently this MMA fighter lost his mind and attacked an old lady and was beating her and he attacked some other people too, and what we saw at The xx was his friend (also an MMA fighter) trying to restrain him because he was the only person big enough to do it. Then these people from the medical tent came and a cop was there too and he got handcuffed and carried away. Someone was saying he "ate some mushrooms he found on the ground"... uh..don't know how true that is but it definitely was not something we wanted to see.
So that is what was going on. I saw several Security and the Medics running into the crowd during The XX but they were moving so quick I never saw where they went. Then about 20 minutes later I was walking to the Portos and I saw a pretty big dude strapped faced down on a backboard at the Medic Tent.
Yeah. It was really unsettling. And I believe he was actually with Lucy, as everyone was with her that night, and that's what his friend was saying, but some of the medical people were just saying he ate some ground shrooms. People like that definitely do not belong at Bonnaroo though. Getting attacked by someone that big would be horrifying, especially if you are an older woman! Hopefully she was fine. I do feel bad for his friend who had to witness all of that and restrain him though. But I did not wanna be near any of that happening. The xx was not a good time in my roo experience to say the least. The rest of the night was spectacular though.
I think the easiest fix would be to get rid of the pit.
No.
9/10 people that walked out of the pit line said "this was not worth it" and they looked half dead. The girl that got trampled didn't get any help from security. It was awful.
