Yet it is in this loneliness that the deepest activities begin. It is here that you discover act without motion, labor that is profound repose, vision in obscurity, and, beyond all desire, a fulfillment whose limits extend to infinity.

YAY! I just purchased tickets to see The Avett Brothers in April at Clemson. This will be my first concert of year (unless I convince my husband to go see Grace Potter with me next month) and I can't wait!!
I'm so glad I still understand speaker cabinet wiring, almost lost the left side of this completely:
Lost the tweeter in the process, but atleast the living room sound system is balanced somewhat. (JBL's on top as the real tweeters; I probably need to pull the wiring from the other to get true balance again, but another day).

New work computer. In addition to being able to start programs in less than half an hour now, I also have a 24" widescreen monitor that is f*cking boss.
As some of you may know, my wife recently lost her new position at Early Childhood Support and Services in Louisiana as state budget cuts eliminated all ECSS clinics effective Feb 1. This is still a horrible truth, and I still feel horrible for all the low income families who will miss out on this important service.
The good news is that a nearby private practice that does both payment and medicaid is so interested in hiring her on as their full time child psychologist, the head psychiatrist called to tell her today that he wants to meet so he can create the perfect job for her, nit only giving her a much needed job but allowing her to name her conditions! She had worked so hard to get where she is now, and the only thing we have left to worry about is breaking the news to tulane staff. Yay!

Working on MLK day so I can use that paid day for a festival later in the year. YAY!
Me too!!! We kind of have to work it, but we get the choice of either getting paid double time and a half or getting paid time and a half + taking the holiday at another date. I always go for the latter
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

If we do a service activity Monday we don't have to go to work. I've been participating in Clemson University's MLK Day of Service for the past few years.

That's a pretty sweet deal!
We get all the federal and state holidays off, including both the Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving. My favorite, though, is the fourth Friday in October, which we get off because it is Nevada Day.

I got a letter of apology this weekend from an old friend that really touched my heart. I didn't think any apology was needed, but the thoughtfulness with which it was offered really meant something. Yay for simple kindnesses.
