Just got paid, and I haven't seen my bank accounts this high in years. Feels pretty nice. Sure I had to work mandatory overtime (it's the busy season at my work), and that sucks. But the paychecks are pretty sweet. This whole wage slavery thing is gonna pay off soon... I think.
I've been having a tough semester for a few different reasons, but today has been a yay day after a really awful week. Got a big confirmation about how great this summer is going to be and got a 96% on the final project for my Site Planning class. At least I'm finishing strong in one of my classes. Now I get to have a site visit with my studio instead of sitting in or cold as shit (the ac in our building is a whole other story) studio and I get to hang out with one of my best friends from High School that I haven't seen since Roo later tonight.

So it turns out that my mom has to go to Tennessee in June because our house is finally sold and because she knew I needed to get to the Roo she planned it so I'll get to Maryville (around Knoxville) with her on Wednesday the 11th. Now I'm able to go with one of my buds that I've camped with the past two years and we were real sad before because I wasn't sure I'd be able to ride in with him. The Farm's magic is pulling me in again this year. Yay!

Officially pre-approved, got my down payment, and ready to buy a HOUSE! Hard to believe this is happening. Now I just have to find a house with a pre-existing stripper pole. The hunt is on!
I arrived at work this morning to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Inforoosters Thank you all so much! After everything that's happened in the past few weeks, I had not been looking forward to my birthday. But you guys (combined with my boyfriend) made it fantastic.

I am imagining all those screens in front of you, each filled with a different real estate listing.
I am incredibly nervous to pre-yay this but I had a really promising job interview on Monday and I am waiting for a call back by the end of week. I have a good feeling about it and it's the perfect job for me and my lifestyle.
AND....Disney World with my two boys in one week! Most expensive vacation ever and probably preventing me from going to any festival this summer which saddens me but now that it's just around the corner I see how worth it it really is. This was a trip my mom and I planned during my divorce process as we knew we all needed something down the road to look forward to and now it's here!
I went to the coolest little bush doof over the long weekend. For those wondering, bush doofs are small pop-up camping festivals / raves held in the middle of nowhere. They're everything bigger fests can't be - 24-hour music, bonfires between the stages and campgrounds, no searches, et cetera. This one had maybe 1000 people and was in the most beautiful spot for a festival.
This was my first camping fest since Bonnaroo '12, and it filled some very big shoes. So, hooray for last-minute festival decisions - the next one is in August, and I am totally in!
28/01 - Blackstreet w/ Montell Jordan 17/02 - Blink 182 w/ Rise Against 24/02 - Taylor Swift 29/02 - The Chemical Brothers w/ The Presets, Anna Lunoe & James Holroyd 01/03 - The National w/ Fleet Foxes 21-22/03 - Wilco 22/05 - Jungle

Are you guys staying in one of the park resorts? If so, here's a fun tip: Disney employees are encouraged to make every guests stay at Disney memorable and perfect. If you talk to someone at the front desk or a manager and say you're looking to make your boys' trip something special, they'll make it happen. Granted, some people at Disney are more enthusiastic about this than others (after all, most of them are just college interns), but a lot of people have come back from the internship with some great stories. Have so much fun!!!

Yes we are staying at the Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary. My parents have a time-share there so we've gone quite a bit over the years! I think I WILL mention something at the desk, actually. Thanks!

I believe I'm finally ready to sign a employment contract here. It doesn't pay as well as others, nor is the location as good. But it feels like the best fit, and I'm very ready to settle in and finally unpack my bags.

Go with your gut. Whatever feels right at this point in your life.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Today is first official day of summer break! And I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and asked my sociolinguistics professor about some research opportunities and she may have a paid assistant position for me next semester! Yay!
