I think my daughter is already turning into a troll. She is at the age where she repeats literally everything we say. Everything. I sound like an idiot trying to not curse when she's around. Today I spend all afternoon trying to get her to "daft punk," because I was listening to it and because I thought it would be cute to hear in her poorly formed language. So I would just say it randomly, even when she was playing with her mom or whatever, I'd just say "Daft Punk" in the background hoping she'd say it. It became a challenge. I probably said "daft punk" 100 times between 4 and 7:30, and if she didn't outright refuse ('no daddy") she'd just ignore me. My wife started giving me weird looks and I started questioning my sanity. As I tucked her into bed, I tried one more time. "daft punk." "Daft punk" she whispered back, as she rolled over and cuddled with her blanket. Quack and yeah.

katbur2 you're having so much fun!! I'd love to find something like that. Thanks for posting
I have to say I have studied and sung music for years and in all kinds of environments and this was freaking liberating. Where are you in Illinois? I found this in the calendar of one of the little indie mags there's probably one near you.
BTW, as someone who is incredibly UN photogenic I'm going to one in Oct and one in Nov but will be off the the side somewhere
I would love to know if there was one around here. I'm near Peoria

I was looking for something to do in Chapel Hill a couple of weeks ago, Monday night and found Pop Up Chorus at Motorco If you are in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area you definitely need to check this out. Think of it as a drinking group with a singing problem. That week it was Love Shack - B-52's and Psychic City - Yacht. The reason for the Yay? The you tube video for Psychic City was actually tweeted by YACHT!!!
haha that's awesome
i've lived in the area for 7 years now - in carrboro now - and i had never heard of this. i'm def talking gf into doing this at least once before we leave.
It has been one month since I quit alcohol and caffeine, 18 months since giving up nicotine. All were accomplished cold turkey.
Awesome! I'm happy for you. Any tips, other than brute willpower? It's hard for me to get through the day without a cup of coffee, and there's probably some reason or another that I should give up vaping as well.

It's all willpower and days upon days of music therapy.

Haha I loved your snap. I love coffee too, and I'm not too bad of an addict - only about two cups a day - but it puts me on edge and I hate the rollercoastering throughout the day. I doubt I'll give it up forever, but I want to go without for a while and see what it's like.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
taking my 60 year old aunt to her first drag show tonight! she's so excited, but it blew her mind when i told her the show doesn't actually start until 11pm.
Just got gifted a weekend pass for ACL next weekend Coworker's dad bought tickets for his sister, but she can't make it now.
And it might work out that I'm on standby for work too, I might get to see the whole festival. Worst case scenario, I get to see the last act or two of each night if I still have to work.

They're giving me the holiday off because they can't post the overtime for it & my time for the other two days is covered. I'm good to go!!! They can't take it back now!!!!! WOOOOO!!!! Soooooooo excited
Yay! Looks like we're moving to Jacksonville next month (you chuckle but FL is wayyyy better than Alabama)! The bank accepted the offer and now I can spend all my time on Pinterest planning awesome decor schemes!

Eeee!!! I am going to be able to see SO much of you!! My sister lives just outside of Jax in Ponte Vedra Beach. In fact, I will be down there from October 28/29 through Nov 2, but I assume that I'll miss you?

I'm sitting at work...but my yay...while starts out depressing turns into a huge win for me
Had a client call in, (I work for a Disability Atty) in complete distress, wanting to commit suicide..I talked her down, got her calmed down, and on her way into the office to speak with me one on one...Psychology major paid off!
Picture a festival on a gorgeous patch of land, where everything is open bar and the bartenders pour cocktails straight into your mouth until it dribbles down your lips and your cup runneth over. A country club stage with complimentary hash brownies up front, and the good vendors and gate greeters of Red Earth City accept tips in both hugs and drugs. A festival with a tropical mobile disco stage, and club names like Trash Mansion and Star Shitty. A place where a musician tells the crowd the MDMA is kicking in a little stronger than expected, and asks if any rappers can help him out... so you get up on stage with your djembe and absolutely slaughter it, to a standing ovation.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I just had my most magically blissful festival experience ever. I've been to a few festivals since I moved back that I've enjoyed, but none that have really made my heart sing... until now. But I think I've just found my yearly thing. See ya next time, Burning Seeders.
