Well... cops will be cops. I'm sure the poor mother who's child is being molested while we harmless folk get harrassed will understand. They's gots to stop the fun! See, God made a mistake when he created marijuana. The politicians understand this! They will smash our faces into the ground and it will be for our own good (and Jesus' amusement).
Are these piggies on the roads before bonnaroo? not that I will be Driving (taking the Greyhound) will bonnaroo still have its personal police force? In prior years were there cops with night vision going through the camps? once agin invasion of privacy with the aid of technology. How much will the general public take these days geesh!

mangopositive, u just went up one in the karma chain. i don't do weed, but come on, i hate the fact that we as people prosecute non-violent offenders. they shouldn't even be "offenders" in the first place. i love the freedoms we have, freedom to mutilate ur body to the point of complete transformation - but no cognitive liberties. shame on u for ingesting anything that changes ur perspective. in fact mango, the fact that you even said marijuana is completely un-american. in america ur only allowed to ingest processed foods & sugars, caffeine, booze & smokes. stuff that makes you fat, paranoid and forgetful. remember - they call it the american dream... because... you have to be asleep to subscribe to it.

Theres a ton of state troopers on the side of the road on the way in keeping the traffic flowing. The question is will they be doing what the cops at Waka did. I had a free lil bag lined up for this just so I wouldn't have to pay high prices but I dont know if its worth it to save the money.

once inside tho lol....My dad was a cop but I dont like cops, but my dad was cool lol. But man, the cops at BROO acted really professional last year and I almost wanted to shake their hands. They were there to provide saftey for all the peaceful people and earned a lot of respect from the festival goers. I hope they dont do stuff to lose that respect from the people.
Nothing unexpected so far I gather... can we wait on something confirmed before the speculation begins? Are we going to be updated (via a call then someone posting) when someone gets in?
Here is something I found on the Listserve site . Some heads up and tips for those on the road:
I have been out of town and off list for almost two weeks. In catching up with my e-mail at work I am wishing I could have found a way to be able to join you all. The soloroo camp sounds like it will be great.
I was actually in Manchester yesterday and stopped off at the site just to see what it looked like. It is amazing how big it looks with no people, and how clean it is right now. I took some pictures but I doubt there is time to get them up before you all are on your way. I wanted to reply to some of the issues on the soloroo e-mails, but for some reason my work e- mail will not let me reply anymore. Some things that may be of interest to all of you, especially the solorooers:
1. There is a construction zone on I-24 coming from Nashville that starts at exit 78 (Franklin, Tn.). There is a sudden drop in speed limit from 70 to 50 MPH. Trust me -- this WILL be used as a speed trap and possible excuse for a search of your car. Be advised.
2. There had to have been at least 50 State Trooper cars along the road and in hotel parking lots. This was just on Monday.
3. For the solorooers and TG. The entrance to Bonnaroo from Hiway 55 is the same entrance used by East I-24. If you want to use the West I-24 direct entrance, you will need to come back to it from the Walmart exit (I forget the number, but I think 114) but be advised that entrance and exit onto the Interstate from both Manchester interchanges is shut down early on Thursday. The time you are discussing, meet at 10:00, in line by 11:00 may be after those interchanges are closed. Also, Hillsboro Rd That comes off 41 and goes under I-24 is blocked off to residents only to prevent entrance to Bonnaroo. At least it was the last two years. I think your best bet is to stick to Hiway 55. After that, it is all a crap shoot.
4. Be very un-obvious in all that you do. The locals were talking about how this year was going to be much tighter controlled than before.
5. Hoist one for The Engineer. I will be with you in spirit!

i just drove by the gates, i was able to peek inside. there were about a hundred thousand police vehicles, paddy wagons & officers lined up. seems bonnaroo 2006 is a fake festival - only held to arrest the countries hippies, liberals & moderate drug users. smart on their part luring us in with bands like radiohead & tom petty. the cops have definitely gotten more intelligent than their dukes of hazard days. i salute them.
Since it sold out, they are probably just patrolling to keep the sneaky w00ks out that don't have tickets. Or maybe the phishheads heard the rumor about the Phish reunion at Roo '06 and they are hiking through the jungle to get in.
But really, they could just be preparing for the masses they have to control. Once the line begins forming they have to be there to control regular traffic and our traffic. So since people will start arriving tomorrow, they are probably just waiting around for it to begin. Yeah, I'm all about glass half full. ;D
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will have nearly 100 troopers working 12-hour shifts in the Coffee County area beginning Wednesday evening through Monday, said Julie Oaks, public information officer for the Tennessee Department of Safety. THP helicopters also will patrol the air during the festival.
Thank you tremendously LIGuy, we planned to exit on 114 and meet in the wally world parking lot. If anyone is still checking these boards this late, please let me know if that will be possible/impossible. If so, do you think we could exit on HWY 41 furthur north of Manchester and make our way in that way. Thank you again. You possibly saved us some headaches.

any one got anymore info on any of this traffic/cop situation.....anyone see anything similar to waka's activities relay it to this board asap for golden karma and all the rooer's safety.
I don't think this year's going to be any different from last year or the year before, ect. ect. I'm sure those cops will get a few people, they always do, but in '04 they only made like 150 arrests, and out of 90,000, that's not bad at all..
I've never seen a cop drive by with night vision goggles on before.. I'll be sure to wave at them.
Outside patroling is mainly what they are doing I gather. The farm is private land, so there should be no worries once inside.
I drove out through Tullahoma yesterday, and though I don't do it often, it seemed like there were quite a few cops around. I saw a gas station with three cars parked at it.
Ok, now this may sound kind of weird. This evening I was on the back porch with some friends and we heard howls from a number of dogs. The howling continued for some time like they were being taunted before they let up and finally stopped howling all together. Strangely enough the howls came from the direction of what I assume is the police headquarters (new location this year) on Shedd road. It's just about 400 yards away from me I'd guess. There's a few mobile units and a trailer. A tent is housing maybe 8 -10 four wheelers. I post this at the risk of looking like some paranoid weirdo, but be careful folks. .
I thought I read they have dogs every year. I have a hard time believing they will be able to use canines on every car. Waka was only 15,000 peeps, roo is 80,000+ I can't see how they can efficiently control traffic and setup roadblocks into a fest like roo.

Since everyone pretty much is stopped on Bushy Branch it would not be that hard, it is a big choke point.
However, they will not do this. TN cops are not KS cops.
