I wish the pumpkin beer thing would just die already.
I was completely on board with all the pumpkin beer until someone told me they thought they tasted like steak sauce. Now, it's all I can think about when I drink them.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
Our local grocery (lets you mix/match a 6-pack) had introduced Tap Room No. 21 last time I visited. I tried the Pale Ale, Amber Ale and Belgian White. Quite frankly, not blown away. But the Belgian White was the best of the bunch. I couldn't place the spices they added - kinda citrus, almost sour. But it was refreshing on a hot day.

This is a long shot but if anyone here is a member and can get memeber tickets for GABF on the 27th please let me know. I am going out but I really need Thursday tickets.

Several sours ready to be tested this week.
the tap room 21 six packs are the cheapest beer at my grocery store (aside from the big domestics and mexican beers) so I always thought it was just one of the big companies trying to capitalize on the craft beer thing.
my wife goes through phases, and is just now leaving her wheat-beer-only phase and entering a stout/porter thing. unfortunately the only real choices we have in that around here are left hand milk stout and deschuttes black butte porter, (or really sweet white chocolate/chocolate stuff) unless we go to the big ass beer store 20 miles away. I usually only have a stout or porter occasionally and usually a tap room, so now that I am looking to buy some for the house i'm really surprised at the lack of selection around here.
^That's good to know, snowmanomura. I had not seen them before, but I bet you're correct. I'll check out their bottles next time I am in the store for signs of a mega-brewery. Not buying any more.
Last night, a Wild Devil Ale from Victory. That was solid. Floral notes over the IPA hoppiness. Made me happy. Except for the cork. Not a fan of corks. Just slap a cap on that thing, please.
Still a few sours ready to go, and added an assortment of fruit beers (blueberry?) and stouts to explore.
Headed to Cincinnati, Ohio next weekend. Any recommendations on local brews?
Rhinegist & Madtree are both fantastic breweries. I really enjoy Rhinegist's IPA named Truth. My favorite beer from Madtree would be the PyscHOPathy. If your looking for some fun places to visit Over the Rhine has some nice bars. If you go out for lunch/dinner some time I can't recommend Wunderbar in Covington enough. It's a super small German restaurant. Some what of a dive bar. It's just across the river and they have some amazing food. Their pretzel and beer cheese is hands down the best I've ever had and has won multiple awards. They also have amazing brussel sprouts and hand made sausages.
If any of you end up in Manitoba, stay away from Half Pints. Wasn't at all impressed when we ordered some kegs for our beer gardens last recruitment (Greek) . Farmery on the other hand is pretty good - and if anyone's feeling adventurous, im sure you could of his with any wheat beer really: 1 part gin, half (pink) lemonade, half farmery (beer) . Load it with shaved ice . Delicious

This sounds intriguing. Not sure I have lemonade, but I have the other ingredients. Reads like a superb shandy.

Wild Heaven in Decatur, GA, has made another serious run at being the best brewery in Georgia. All the stuff barrel-aged stuff they've released lately is insane. Height of Civilization is a barleywine aged in tequila barrels and it's amazing. Just had their funkenrauch--a smoked sour beer--today and it is also great. Y'all make sure to grab some if you're in the area!
Today's pairings for The Walking Dead Season I were: Southern Tier Creme Brulee. Sweet, dark and strong. Not your normal afternoon beer -- probably should have checked the ABV before popping off the cap (9.5%). But, very enjoyable. A bit of saccharin-esque bitterness on the finish.
Wild Blue Blueberry Lager from A-B: It's blue. But, enjoyable. Very sweet. Best 8% ABV beer from A-B (if not the only one).
Sweetwater Blue: Not nearly as blueberry, but better than Wild Blue. A good overall flavor, while more subtle.
I've been diggin River Sittin Pale by Bluetick Brewery in Maryville, TN. I absolutely love their beers. It's really nice having a brewery in such a small town. No I just have to see about if I could get a job there. That seems like it would be an incredible career.

We have a small brewery in town called Able Ebeneezer. Their main IPA is so incredible. I'm moving into Harpoon, Long Trail, and Red Hook. While everyone is obsessing over Not Your Fathers Root Beer, someone has to clear the shelves of the other stuff.
Also I tried Allagash White last month and was very dissapointed. For a Belgian White, I was expecting quality for a Maine beer that's $11/4 pack. Blue Moon is the generic choice but for $12/12 pack I'll stick with it for now.

I'm not sure there are any Belgian Whites that I find satisfying. If you really want to explore Belgians, you should purchase a Duvel (Belgian Ale).
Edit: Pour it slowly and make sure not to have more than 2 unless you want to get trashed.

You're wrong and I feel sorry for you.
Haha no but I actually did come here to post that I just bought my first pumpkin six pack of the hey-it-is-almost-autumn season, and I am pretty excited about it. Sipping one now.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I have not heard any of these, but I'll keep them in mind if I ever decide to brew tour CA.
They're all breweries in Orange County. Apparently, there's a bunch because that list is already pared down. These may not have a big distribution network. I don't know west coast beers that well. I figured it was worth a shot though.
