This was my first bonnaroo and I think I had too high of expecations for a few things. Basically, I thought the festival in general would have been much more insane and crazy, but I was glad it was not that bad. Shakedown Street was very disappointing considering everything I had heard and read about it, pretty much it was just glass selling. Also, Oysterhead didn't jump out at me as much as I thought and wished they would, but I still enjoyed it...
that being said, I had an amazing time at Bonnaroo and will hopefully go back next year!
The only expectation I had was that I'd hear a lot of great music. See my thread about why this is my last Bonnaroo to see how that simple expectation got smashed.

it was all MORE than i expected!!! MORE of EVERYTHING. more people than i've ever seen! more music than i could catch. MORE HEAT. i can't explain my first time experience in just a few words.... if its just one word tho its "MORE"
i saw: Oysterhead, Bonnie, Blues Traveler, Elvis C., Shooter, Atmosphere, Petty, more
i missed: Beck, Radiohead, Dr. John, Bisco, soooo many more.....
Oysterhead was ridiculous. I expected it to be good considering the quality of musicians in the band, but didn't expect them to be as cohesive as they were since they hadnt played or toured. They were amazing.
