the word on the street is that roo signed for 3 more years in manchester. so thats good news! im not sure where the info comes from for sure but what i heard was that someone was talking to a security guy and he said that they got 3 more years and they were trying to work out a 3 year contract with his security company. hopefully its true. i ssuspect that it is. hopefully this hasnt already been talked about. i havent seen it yet
i dont think it is possible. this roo was sooooooooooooooooooo special!!!!! i dont think it can be recreated anytime anywhere. i cant wait to see what they throw at us but im not going in expecting what i got this year. holy sh.it this year was awesome!! cant beleive i ever worried/doubted the roo.
i dont see how they can even match the headliners. but for me there is no way they can put together a better tent schedule too. from what i have heard all of the latenights were unbelieveable. i know that umph/bisco, dr john, grab, and dumpstaphunk were 4 of the greatest shows i have ever seen.
I heard that stupid MTV rumor a few times, and the same rumor with clearchannel buying the festival, how does thst same stupid story get ressurected year after year?
uhhhh... i would have to disagree with you on all 3 counts. and im one fo the bigger jamheads on inforoo. i love my string cheese and would like to see them headline. but to say they would be better then those 3 shows is something only a hardcore fan would say with those fanboy blinders on. they should have given widespread 1 night and had them headline last year.

Actually I heard from someone involved in the negotiations that a 10 year deal is in the works. This person is not in the music scene but owns property that A/C entertainment and Bonnaroo rent for access to the main concert grounds.
Good news eh?

I'm sorry, but if anyone says the Phil didn't bring it as a headliner this year was definatly not at the same show I was!
i agree completely with this. first set was amazing, and dancing in the rain during the second set was the most fun i had all weekend
as far as headliners go next year, i predict DMB friday night, Phil Lesh on Sunday (unless the dead get back together, then the dead would play on Sat.) and one last big name rock band
lol!!! i will be front and center. seriously though. i really appreciate all of the conversations that went back and forth. even when they got heated. it killed the time till roo and got me even more excited about it. i cant wait for next year. and i can honestly say that i would be a happy camper if radiohead ever comes back to roo. i dont think id pay to see them on tour but if they show up at a festie it will be a major draw for me. i cant wait to see who they throw at us next year!!!!

When I was sitting up in the VIP/Guest bleachers waiting before Petty, I got to talking to this local guy who was there with his son. Come to find out he was on the manchester city council. When I found out about this I immediately asked him about the whole contract rumors. What he said was that there was no multiple year contract, but just a one year contract. Each year during Bonnaroo, they sign the contract for the next year.So sometime during this years bonnaroo, they met with city officials from manchester and signed the contract for Bonnaroo 2007.
He also said that he was friends with one of the promoters(Rick Farman(sp?)), after he said this I wasn't quite sure whether to believe him. But when I noticed that he and his son had the credentials that got you backstage and on the stage risers, and the other people that had guest wristbands on didn't, I believed him.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
