Did anyone see that crazy dust devil in the campsites (i think it was early saturday afternoon) A bunch of people saw it so i aint trippin'! People's tents were flying so high in the air and spinning around like a mini tornado! Myself being fron NY, i dont see those things and have never witnessed one...it freaked me out! I feel bad for those people when they came back to find there camp was gone!!

A dust devil hit the vendors in Centeroo Thursday, and a bunch of posters went flying into the air. The last I saw of them, they were probably about 500 feet high in the air. Nothing but little dots in the vast sky. Insane.
We were right in the midst of the dust devil! At first we thought it was just strong winds--we had not staked down our shade tent, so my friend and I were holding onto it so it didn't fly away. But once the wind stopped for us, we proceeded to watch the wind move from one section to another of the camps, picking up tents and carrying the tents and then setting them down. IT was seriously the craziest thing I've ever seen. I felt bad for the people who didn't stake down their tents and came back to camp like "what the f?" but it was quite hilarious and wonderful at the same time.
that is wild. i wish i would have seen it. if you dont have stakes be sure and put a cooler in your tent so that wont happen. or dont. its cool to watch flying tents
Walking to Centeroo on Thursday around noon two tents near Camping only (the site behind it) took off. Crazy stuff - we ran back to our tents to double check they were hammered in and weighed down enough.

While we were waiting in our truck in line on Thur morning we watched a dust devil slowly work it's way across a still empty camping field. It was pretty well defined, 30 or 40 feet high. When it finally started to break up after about 5 minutes my friend says you know we probably should have taken a picture of that...
