Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The background will be changed soon enough. Some folks liked it and wanted it around, so I thought we'd leave it up a little while longer. But yes, if you have any good pics, post em here.......

On an unrelated note:
I miss our old pal, neighborhooodcreep.
Yes - he occasionally posted things that were out of line.
But how uptight is this place going to get? This is the internet, isn't it? Sometimes I think we go too far in censoring things, especially considering this is a BONNAROO message board. I've seen and heard more obscene things at Bonnaroo than anywhere else on this planet. I went through 13 years of public schooling, and still nothing I had witnessed prepared me for the obscenity and degradation that is Bonnaroo. Bonnaroo is a place full of naked people, extreme intoxication, and vast amounts of obscenities. Nothing anyone could post on this message board could ever rival some of the downright nasty things I have seen or heard at Bonnaroo. Why is it that such a hedonistic festival had such an uptight Christian messagebaord?
I understand that we have to filter the word fvck because it prevents some people from viewing inforoo at work (although, I think these people should simply be happy that they can leisurely browse the internet while at work. I wish I could browse around the internet and get paid for it, and if I could, I wouldn't complain about what websites I could view. If you really care that much, take a few minutes of your life to learn how a 'proxy' works, and you'll be skirting your work's firewall in no time).
I understand we can't allow druq talk because it could lead to a huge bust.
I understand we don't want this message board to turn into a community of horny, dugged up hippies looking for nude pictures and free nuggets.
But, please, please - relax a little bit on how strictly we regulate "obscenity" and "vulgarity".
Yes - he occasionally posted things that were out of line.
Yep. And we don't make exceptions to the rules. We don't let people slide because they're popular with other members. Folks have been banned for much less than Creep was. It's our decision and ours alone. If you don't like it or agree with it, I'm sorry. It's the way it is.

Fair enough - I am sure that he said and did some things to warrant his lifetime ban. I know that he pushed boundaries and violated the "rules".
But I would like to further the discussion of exactly what is "obscene". The concept is entirely relative; and, to me, seems to have a very loose definition. I am offended by some of the ignorant, uninformed sh!t that people have said in the political threads. Should they be warned (and potentially banned) as well?

unless you work at a place like I do where the proxy stuff does not work at all. I cannot even buy a bra online from my office because it deems any site with lingerie to be sexually explicit

Sexually explicit links or pics are obscene. Highly offensive links or pics are obscene IE tubgirl. Pics of druqs or druq talk is obscene(there are some things we let slide though, like "corn"). Highly descriptive sexually explicit talk is obscene. Don't joke at the expense of others(don't make fun of rape, retardation, child molestation and the like).
The filters are there for cursing and other random "obscene" words. We ask everyone to use common sense for everything else. Things like the above should fall into the common sense catagory, IMO. Ultimately though, it's up to the mods. I know some people don't like that and never will.

So, basically, what you are saying is that this board accepts the stereotypical, Christian view of what is obscene? Because, as I mentioned, that seems highly relative. I am not offended by anything you have listed there. But, as I also mentioned, I am offended by some of the incredibly ignorant things people have said in regard to politics. Why is it that other people's definition of "obscene" is accepted, and mine is not?
I'm also failing to understand exactly why we are restricted from posting things deemed "obscene". Virtually every member of this board is an adult. While I don't have any statistics readily available, I'm willing to say that over 95% of this board is of legal age to see an 'R' rated film. More importantly, this community is made up of Bonnaroo goers. We are some of the most obscene, profane people on earth. The official Bonnaroo messageboard doesn't have nearly the amount of censorship that this place does. I don't want to run around offending people, but I feel like the liberties on this messagebaord should parallel those of the actual festival. After all, this is the internet. People are bound to run into something that offend them from time to time - that is the risk you take when you venture online. Close the window, don't read the thread, don't click links unless you know where they lead . . . in other words, if you are easily offended, it should be at your personal discretion as to where you should and should not go on the internet.
So, I guess I have two basic questions:
- Why is it that some people's definition of obscene is accepted, and others are not?
- Why is it even necessary to censor the 'obscene' considering the type of message board this is?
* It is also worth noting, my friend, that you have a link in your signature to your YouTube account. And what, exactly, is your YouTube name? Analrapist? While I appreciate the AD reference, isn't this exactly the kind of thing you just described as offensive? It is basically a straight-up rape joke.
The mods have stated this is not a democracy...So they REALLY don't have to answer your Q's detective! But I am giving you karma, cause I am of your point of view!!!!
OK I am gonna give you real life karma!!

It was decided a long time ago, when the board was made. There are a million different versions of obscene. Everyone probably has their own interpretation of it. So where does that leave us? Either we leave it as a free-for-all(like Bonnaroo), or we(the mods) are left to decide for everyone else. I really don't think it's that bad. If you want a free-for-all, you can sign up on any other message board anywhere and get that. And that's the point. Inforoo is different.
Also I don't understand the equating Inforoo to "Christian" morals. That seems pretty laughable to me, cause when I think "Christian", the last thing I think of is Inforoo.

Well, all of the things you have deemed 'obscene' or worthy of being filtered are many of the same things the Christian community frowns upon. I could have said "western religion" in general, but I wasn't trying to make this a debate about morality. This is, by far, the most uptight internet community of which I am a member. We can't say Fvck, we can't post sexually explicit pictures, we aren't even supposed to talk about sexually explicit things - those things scream 'Christian' ideals.
So, it was decided a long time ago that we should censor what someone else has deemed 'obscene'. Are we not allowed to change that? It seems like a large portion of this community is discontent. While I am aware this is no democracy, I do think the Moderators have an obligation to heed the will of the general population. Isn't it possible to change the rules, if that is what the people want?
So, why (or perhaps how) did you decide what was offensive and what wasn't? And why is it that my view of what is offensive isn't counted? What motivated the decision to censor this board, even though that is the antithesis of the Bonnaroo spirit?
I don't mean to seem rude, and I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I just am not understanding this; and frankly, I think you agree with a lot of what I'm saying but feel as if your hands are tied on the matter.
