Was worried the new St. Vincent solo setup wasn't going to work but that was the best I've seen her live. Really wish there were official recordings of the new arrangements for the old songs.
Are there any openers for the St Vincent tour? Around what time did she go on?

The ‘opener’ was a screening of The Birthday Party, the movie she directed, but it sounds like Tuck and Patti are opening for her onnthis leg. She went on about 2 hours after doors.
Just got back from Brockhampton, very young crowd, extremely rowdy, tons of fun. They performed for about 90 minutes and played pretty much everything you would want to hear. Good mix of really hype songs and chill songs. I also didn't hate the Bearface songs live. EDIT: Someone uploaded the full set of the show

Last show was Sleep in Birmingham. Can still feel the waves of sound pummeling my body. The opener was Yautja from Nashville, and they were surprisingly good.
I was at this show as well. 2nd row. It completely ruled.

thats about where I was, dead center, but about 4-5 people back.
Fredgarageland I saw Anna Meredith last night, she was so much fun! She didn't play her newest song I'm pretty sure, I really wanted to hear that one. Otherwise she played all my favorite songs. Her encore was a cover of Enter Sandman though lol, I thought that was so silly and unexpected but I really liked it! Definitely a fun time for a cheap price, I'd recommend others see her too
Got word that Mr. Carmack’s live show last night with him playing keys and singing was very good. I only got a short clip sent over, but the people who went had been following him I think even before he was with Soulection. They got to blow down with him after. Haha
The Vince and Tyler gig was awesome. Venue (Bomb Factory) was really cool, first show in Deep Ellum for me. A couple times the speakers on the right side were fucking up, which sucked, but was too encapsulated by the show to really give a shit. Vince's set was mainly Big Fish Theory, with Senorita, Blue Suede, Lift Me Up, Norf Norf, and a couple tracks off Prima Donna. The production screen's were intricate, and featured some interesting clips of old 50s movies and stupid shit on Fox News. Tyler's set was next level production. I've seen him a bunch of times, he's never had as interesting of a stage set up as he does on this tour. In fact, he's never really had more than a big screen behind him. I don't want to spoil anything, but this set up is pretty damn cool. His set comprised of mainly Flower Boy tracks, Ziploc, Biking, and a few from Goblin/Wolf/Cherry Bomb. He boasted about FB being Grammy-nominated, talked about how weird humans are for screaming their asses off at random words, and shitted on how lame the crowd was in Kansas City and how hyped our crowd was. Tyler has honestly never been better. Taco's DJ set was dope too.

KC crowds are terrible. When I saw Gorillaz at the Sprint Center that crowd was DEAD, especially for Vince and Danny Brown.

When did Taco do his DJ set? Like before Tyler or Vince? I'm going to this show tomorrow night in Atlanta

What time were doors and what time did everyone come on?
So Tyler the Creator's show last night was insane. First off I have to say it's amazing how much Flower Boy has boosted his popularity. The show was originally supposed to be at the Georgia World Congress Center but got moved to Infinite Energy Center due to high demand. For reference that's where Kendrick Lamar and Gorillaz performed last year. When I got to the venue around 5pm there were already a thousand people waiting outside. That's not an exaggeration either, one of the security guys confirmed there were at least that many people. Shit started going down before the show even started. Because of the rain they split the line into two parts, the first half was right in front of the building and the second half got moved to a parking garage so we wouldn't have to stand in the rain. But once the line started moving the crowd in the parking lot just started running for it and created a stampede. I actually had to stop to help someone who fell over. I'm actually pretty used to chaotic situations but this time I was little nervous.
But anyways I ended up making it to the floor about ten rows back from the stage. Which was pretty good considering how many people were there. It was crazy to see Tyler almost fill up an entire arena. Almost all of the seats were filled in the building. Vince Staples co-headlining probably helped but mostly everyone was mainly there for Tyler. Taco's DJ set was so much fun. Almost nothing makes happier in life than moshing my heart out to some ignorant trap shit during a Taco DJ set. But people who literally shove their way up to the front and then start freaking out once the show gets started are the worst people. If you can't hang move to the back or off to the side. But I have no sympathy for people who were literally shoving people before the show started because "they had to be upfront" and start panicking once the moshpits get going. That didn't stop me from getting away from those people and having the time of my life though.
Anyways Vince Staples set was flawless. He's really come into his own as a performer. He performed a lot in the shadows with a screen behind him that would occasionally play news clips between songs. You really got a gritty and almost apocalyptic vibe from his set. The crowd was also very enthusiastic. The floor was still rowdy and from what I could tell everyone was standing up in the seated section. By the time his show ended everybody was pretty worn out and almost half the floor cleared out. All of the sudden there was a lot more room than there was before the show started.
Tyler the Creator's set was actually pretty chill by comparison. But that's mostly just what comes with the type of songs on Flower Boy. Everyone was still grooving and vibing really hard to every song. Tyler has also really come into his own as a performer. Like he actually sounds really good onstage and hits all of his words without a hype man. But the only reason Jasper (Tyler's usual hype man) wasn't onstage was because he broke his leg. But Tyler didn't really need the help anyway. The crowd still went crazy to all of the bangers like "Who Dat Boy" "Aint Got Time" and "Tamale". As a long time fan of Tyler and the whole OF collective, it makes me really proud to see how much Tyler has grown as an artist and in popularity. For a couple years, people were really trying to say he fell off and the whole Odd Future thing was starting to become a joke. So it makes me really happy to see not only did he not fall off, but he's more popular now than he's ever been.

These good Tyler and Vince reviews have made me prioritize them at Coachella. They’re coming to Orlando on Tuesday, but unfortunately won’t be able to make it.

Everyone's reviews were on point, Vince and Tyler were both fantastic. Haven't had that much fun at a show in a long time!
I went in as a Vince stan and what I would call a casual fan of Tyler. I was a big fan of Yonkers when OF was first becoming a thing, but could never quite buy into Tyler's class clown personality or his discography. But I loved Flower Boy and this album cycle has made me reevaluate my feelings on him.
I thought both performers were excellent for different reasons. I really loved Vince's stage set up and brooding style. I think he's a star, so I was a bit bummed by the lukewarm reception from the audience. Didn't seem like people were that into it. I had a blast tho. I think Big Fish Theory is such a forward thinking album that's on a different level than pretty much anyone else in hip hop right now.
Tyler's crowd was fucking nuts though, and that made the show truly special and fun. I loved his stage production as well, and he really impressed me with his showmanship. I was taken aback by just how wild people got for him. It was fun to be in a crowd that hype. People were just as passionate about the Flower Boy tracks as the old hits which made the experience enjoyable for me as someone who enjoys the new material the most.
Would love to catch both of them again at Coachella if there aren't conflicts, but if the schedule gods aren't kind I can be at peace with how much I enjoyed the show last night.

Just saw Portugal. The Man in DC tonight. What a show. It was my 2nd time seeing them and they did not let down. You should definitely check them out if they are coming near you. You won’t be disappointed.
4/25: Oneohtrix Point Never 6/9: Gary Clark Jr.? 6/23: Brittany Howard? 7/13: elrow 7/20: Mt. Joy 7/28: Justice 7/31: Romy 8/2: The Marias? 8/18: Mitski? 8/19: Taylor Swift 8/23: Crumb? 8/29: Pearl Jam? 9/5: L'Impératrice 9/7: Bruce Springsteen? 9/12: Pearl Jam? 9/23: Khruangbin 9/24: Khruangbin? 9/26: Charli XCX/Troye Sivan? 9/28-9/29: All Things Go 9/30: Vampire Weekend
didn't mention this but saw Ana Tijoux on Tuesday. It was a set promoting a new EP/album (?) of love songs in traditional Latin American styles, plus some older songs of hers mixed in with new arrangements. It was a great show and made more impressive by the fact that she was performing with the flu (!) and after having to find last minute replacements for her band since her original pianist and bassist were deported (!!!). I think there's only a few more dates left, but if it's coming to your city, you should check it out.
So I saw Shame last Thursday, and they fucking rocked. They played in a tiny little venue here that I really enjoy, and it was nuts to butts sold out. Glad Fred commented telling people to go (although it being really cheap helped too). If they come through your city I'd definitely say you should check them out, even better live than on record.
I saw Noel Gallagher last night. My girlfriend won tickets through a radio station, and they were supposed to ship the tickets to her apartment but they never came. We figured we'd just be on a will call then since we couldn't get a response from the person who e-mailed her, but when we got there we weren't on the will call list either lol. We were about to be upset that we went all the way downtown for nothing, but then the ticket guy definitely did us a solid and just gave us two tickets (my girlfriend thinks he was able to get in touch with the radio guy, but it was like 20 minutes before the show there's no way). We were in the center about 12 rows back, it was awesome. I don't really know anything about Noel Gallagher/Oasis except for the bigger Oasis songs, but he put on a great show. He played Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger and I knew those ones at least, along with some of the other songs from Noel's top 10 on Spotify that I listened to beforehand. Also ended with a cover of All You Need Is Love and that was pretty cool too. I wish I saw Liam at Lolla for four songs so I could compare the two.
I saw Mac DeMarco do a 2 hour 50 minute set last night. Included a good variety of their own hits as well as hit covers. I don't even have words to describe how ridiculous this show was.. The band was in great spirits off the Jameson, memorable moments included the time the drummer crowd surfed up to the third balcony and a minute later dove off the first balcony during a cover of Limp Bizkit 'My Way' (their interpretation just repeated the lyric "Shut the fuck up!"), and Mac crowd surfed up to the first balcony and jumped off as the rest of the band did a sped up version of 'Whole Lotta Love'. I really could not stop laughing for a good hour during the cover medley interlude of 'Still Together'. Seen them at a couple fests in the past (Levitation & GovBall), but seeing them in a smallish venue like The Mohawk was a trip. Still can't believe they played for 2 hours 50 minutes (7:30-10:20). I've never seen anyone play over 90 minutes in that venue. This show should set a really positive tone in two weeks for SXSW for me.

St. Vincent Tyler/Vince David Byrne
Holy shit was that David Byrne show great. He gets down, especially for 65. The choreography was a lovely touch. The band sounded great. Reminded me a lot of the 2013 tour, minus Annie. Love all the Talking Heads songs. The new album is really growing on me too. A must-see show for sure. And I second all the stuff about Vince and Tyler above. I went in as more of a Vince Staples fan and left really appreciating Tyler as a performer. Flower Boy is a beautiful fucking album and was awesome to see and be a part of live. Not my favorite St. Vincent show but I really respect what she's doing live and how vulnerable and raw she was up there alone. She always shreds. All of those shows are worth seeing this year.

Caught Nightwish on the first stop of their Decades tour on Friday in Atlanta. Probably not to the tastes of most of Inforoo but holy hells if you're at all into unapologetically bombastic power metal done right, go see this tour. Really deep dive into their back catalog and Floor Jansen is probably the best female vocalist in metal right now.
Saw GY!BE last night @ Union Transfer because tickets were going below face and people around the board had recommended them. I didn't really know much of their music going in. The videos online really don't do justice to how good the best parts of their shows. When they are all playing and each instrument fades to the front and then back out and then they all fold into each other is really crazy to listen to. The slower parts got kind of rough because I was pretty tired for a mid-week show. It was the best behaved crowd I've ever seen. I don't think anyone talked, but it was also weird because people had no idea when to clap or if the song was actually over. UT is always a great venue to see a show.

Good to hear, I'm seeing GY!BE next week and am super psyched. Though I did see them once before when they opened for NIN and hated it, but that was probably a combination of my own musical tastes at the time, as well as the terrible context of playing for a half empty arena with shitty sound.
Hey so thank you to whomever recommended Shame. They were fucking AWESOME. I didn't feel like getting off the couch yesterday but I dragged my ass out there thanks to this board.
