Saw My Bloody Valentine for the first time last night. Cannot express how excited I was to see them. Probably the second loudest concert I’ve ever seen (the first one being Sunn O)))). It was ~120 minutes of amazingness.

Jelly. Did they play anymore new stuff
I think they played two new songs, but I’m not sure if they are different from those that were played in previous concerts.

Just went to a free show featuring Morgan Saint, Two Feet, and Manchester Orchestra. First two were fine, but I can't believe I've been sleeping on MO. They had such great energy and stage presence.
We saw Janelle Monae last night. It was great. It was like an assault on the senses with everything going on on stage with her, her band, dancers, giant video screens. And loud. Super loud. Probably the loudest show we've seen all year.

I thought it was just me. I was glad to have my earplugs. I was at the Ryman and close.
Saw ELO in Houston on Friday night and it was easily the best show I've ever been to and I've been to a ton of concerts. Even the songs I figured would be piss breaks, When I Was A Boy & Wild West Hero, ended up being some of the highlights of the concert for me.
If you have the means to make it happen you should definitely hit up one of the remaining shows and splurge for good floor seats. Everything about this show is incredible on every level.
I personally got the vibe at the show that he was going to keep touring with this band because he looked like he was having a lot of fun, but he's 70 and there's no telling what he is gonna do.

Caught Wolf Parade up at a little venue in Ithaca, NY over the weekend. My 4th time seeing them, but this was by far the best time. They are at the top of their game right now.

I won tickets to jack White tonight. Glad I didn't pay because it was probably the worst setlist of his tour. He played awesome but I just really hate his new album and I didn't need to hear 6-7 songs from it. No harderst button to button, we are gonna be friends, ball and a biscuit, icky thump, my doorbell, etc.. I understand I'm not going to a white stripes show but it was still very frustrating.
I love comedy, but don't really spend money to see comedians live. My girlfriend won tickets to see Joe Mande last night at the same place we've seen De Lux/Anna Meredith/Kelly Lee Owens/Shame this year, it's very small (google says it has a capacity of 165). They put down seats in it so there weren't even as many people in there as there are for concerts. If you don't know who he is, he had a hand in writing/acting for The Good Place/Park And Rec/Modern Family/Master of None. I watched some of his netflix special at one point and wasn't really a fan, didn't even finish it. However, he killed it last night. I thought he was hilarious, I'd highly encourage you to see him on this small tour (I think he said he'd only be on the road for two weeks). I may need to try to go to more comedy shows, other than the occasional open mic night down at bars down the street.
I went to Paramore's Art + Friends show in Nashville a couple weeks ago. Some cool local art was set up and all the bands were from Nashville: Nightingail, Canon Blue, Liza Anne, Bully, COIN, and then Paramore. Idc what anyone says, Paramore is fantastic live and Hayley Williams is one of the best performers alive, no doubt. After Laughter was my go-to album the past year, it just really came at the right time and hit the right buttons. And it's been really cool seeing how Hayley has gone from being extremely depressed to slowly becoming genuinely happy again. The show was like a big celebration. Also they retired Misery Business, so that was kinda neat.
Beck and Jenny Lewis were amazing last night. You know a show is going to be good when they open with their biggest song (Loser). Beck brought Jenny out to cover Harvest Moon, with the harvest moon rising behind the stage. It was magical!
Checking in from the UK. Chemical Brothers were pretty special last night. Two solid hours, almost every song i could want to hear and discovered some new favorites. New Order’s Temptation combined with Star Guitar was particularly cool. Great night and a big check mark
Took the wife to see Justin Timberlake last night after getting a half price offer from LiveNation. Dude is so great live. I thought I'd enjoy maybe a few songs while wifey fawned all night, but I'm pretty sure he cracked my top 5 for 2018 lol.
If you have even a passing interest in pop and tickets are cheap, give it a whirl. Big production, good set list- you'll have fun
