Hey I noticed a last.fm thread and thought it would be a great idea to start a group so we can really see what the members of this group collectively listen to (well listen to on the computer and mp3's anyway).
If you have not signed up please do. We will have weekly charts of top artists and can see what we all like. Its fun!
I am using my moderator powers just to make this an announcment on all the sub-forums for the time being. This is something worth of checking out and it is connected to Inforoo.

Damn you whyndam hotel group and your internet policy!
"It appears you have attempted to access an Internet site that is of a non-business related nature. If you feel you have received this message in error, please contact Network Control (TSS) or send an email to the Wyndham Network Support Team."
thank GOD inforoo is business related. I shall register tonight when i'm home and can do all my scandalous seedy internet business
i'm not really worried about it, after installing the scrobbing software it doesn't look like anything bad, i just know some freeware will rip your computer up

I joined last week but I am still trying to figure the whole thing out.... It's kind of confusing to me and I guess I don't really understand the purpose.
Like much of the internet, the "purpose" is questionable.
It's a good way to keep tabs on your listening habits, and those of your friends or fellow group members. You'll also be able to find out about new music that you may not have come across otherwise. If you're an obsessive list maker or music buff, you'll find it to be fun. You really don't have to do a thing, besides listen to tunes on your computer.

Last.FM is just a way for you to track your listening habits. It also provides a radio feature if you are interested in hearing new music. You can play a group radio station that will be based on what we in the Inforoo group listen too. You can also play a radio based on your friends. I enjoy viewing the artists page to see what tracks get listened to the most and how many people are listening to the band in total for that week. Lots of stats and numbers. Those things are fun to me. The longer the group is intact the better the results. We can see by this time next year what the top artists and songs really are. We can today but its only been 1 week so far.

I am going to check out the radio this weekend to see if something I like gets played. If anyone finds anything they like do post! This is a good way for us to checkout what we all are listening to.
The station sounds good for the most part(for the exception of Justin Timberlake showing up on the station every now and then). I am more of an indie rock person myself, but I like to hear a little more jam bands mixed into the station(WSP,Bela,DMB,MMW) every now and then to give it that Bonnaroo feel.

ok, i signed up and am trying to mess around to figure out exactly what all it entails, but i must warn the group of something....
i'm a hip hop junkie! i heart the jam bands, the bonnaroo stereotypes, etc. etc...
but i also love a variety of hip hop, country, and old school stuff, so if this causes some disturbances in the inforoo last.fm group radio, i apologize in advance
