Tune in and view highlights from the press conference held by musician and iconoclast Tom Waits to announce his summer tour "Glitter and Doom" on Monday, May 5 at www.tomwaits.com beginning at 6am EST.
Not only is Tom announcing a tour, but a website as well !
This is one of several announcements coming in the next week.
I'm pretty sure I heard that the announcement was going to be a Tom Waits tent where he plays each album all the way through constantly throughout Bonnaroo.

that would probably be the coolest thing of all time.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
They did. Last tour you could only buy 2 at a time and must present the credit card you ordered with. Then they took you from will call (where you had to get the tickets) to the door (with an escort) as to not have scalpers. Crazy. I went to Asheville it was $150 + fees for 2 tickets.

I tried like hell to get to the asheville show, but of course they sold out like that *snap*lol I won't make that mistake this time around....I am gonna be all over those tickets Bonnaroo style, meaning I will be hovering around the exact minute they go on sale

^That is a strong statement... I will try my damnedest to get tickets to wherever the closest show is.
Trust me... Going to my fifth Bonnaroo this summer and been to countless shows; it was surreal. Seated audience at the Ryman in the pews; standing ovation after every song. People stood clapping for twenty minutes after the house lights came on. Amazing.

This is going to sound silly but this is just to illistrate how excited I am about a potential Tom Waits tour
Today has been a crazy day full of tragedy, beauty, sadness, and happiness.....nothing severe but I have seen all of those today and it's enough to make a grown man think about crying lol....and the statement above about the standing ovation after every song and the sheer velocity of his preformance is the only thing that has really moved me today.....
Like a Boston mallrat from the '80s, Eugene Hutz loves the word "wicked." How's the tour? "Oh, it's pretty wicked man." When he barks it out in a stiff Ukrainian accent it sounds almost brand-new again. Tell him you're looking forward to the 12th annual California Herdeljezi Roma Festival in Sebastopol this weekend and he says, "Well, wicked man, let's do it. It's gonna be from electronic gypsy punk and DJ-style to acoustic authentic style the way it's been done in the fields and forests for centuries." The Gogol Bordello gypsy punk bandleader and curator of the annual New Gypsy Festival has heard all the "dumb stereotypes." "Anything about gypsies that is true will always destroy stereotypes," he says. "Simply because what everybody else knows is a (freaking) lie. It came to a point where we can do no wrong." Friday night, Hutz gets behind the turntable for the gypsy DJ mash he's been spinning for over a decade now - "a real amalgamation of all gypsy styles that shows the uniting thread of duende among all of them." Then on Saturday, he breaks it down old school for a few acoustic sets. "Once I'm there I might as well do the whole thing," he says. "Gogol Bordello is essentially a gypsy rock-and-roll band, but my roots and my foundation is in acoustic gypsy music that's been played around at tables and family feasts. It's still a huge part of who I am." While in SoCo, he's crashing with his buddy Primus frontman Les Claypool. It turns out they're rehearsing a set of Tom Waits songs with Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett for the upcoming Superjam at Bonnaroo.

Now that doesn't necessarily mean Tom Waits will be in the Superjam.... or does it?....So at least we know Hutz and Hammet will be there....as will I......Either way I would love to see hear some Tom Waits at the Superjam
