No, we still get some shows in Nashville during the summer, imagine if anyone who played Bonnaroo, could not be in Nashville for a month before or after.

^^^ Zappa Plays Zappa is playing the Variety on June 12.
Edit: And I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that Roo performers often play Sundown in the City in Knoxville in the month or so before and after Roo. (But that is an AC Entertainment event, so that may be why. Also, it doesn't appear any Roo performers are playing this year.)
guys, bonnaroo announcements only happen on wednesday's i thought. Maybe this is still happening? Somebody reenforce my hope, I mean if his tour starts two days after roo and is being produced by the people who put on roo, and he's been playing with all people who are going to be at roo, can he really not be at roo?
Two reasons I think you're wrong (though I hope you're not): 1 - The tour follows a clear geographical path, West to East, not hitting TN until a few weeks later. If he was set enough on Bonnaroo to open the tour with it, I'd think he'd plan the tour to make more sense geographically around it, as many do.
I believe The Police played Vegas then Bonnaroo then Phoenix.

Damn...Tom's playing Phoenix the two days after I get back from Bonnaroo. Looks like I'll have to stave off exaustion for two more days, b/c I'm not missing either of those shows. Anyone know when/where tickets will be on sale?
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
After listening to 3 Waits albums now, I really don't see Hammett coming close to a Waits tune... I'm rather confused by these rumors/speculations.
Kirk Hammett is surprisingly versitile for a metal guitarist. I have faith that he'd be able to step in nicely. Hammett, to me, has never really fit in with Metallica. It always seemed as if they just needed a crazy guitarist so there he was.

While I seriously doubt that Waits will end up at Bonnaroo, I will throw out there that while on the Anti- website, I noticed that more than half of the artists on their label have or are playing 'roo. If they are in good with Waits' label, that can only help matters.

The information is not available yet. For up-to-date Waits news, check the blog eyeballkid.blogspot.com/ . I'll see you in Phoenix!

I was listening to a bunch of Waits last night, getting psyched for 'roo (fingers crossed) and I didn't even realize he sang my favorite song from the Things to do in denver when your dead soundtrack (Jockey full of bourbon).
And since I'll be at Rothbury, Atlanta is out and 'roo is my only shot
Man I would be really excited if he is there, but I have my doubts. If he is though I would seriously camp out through any of the headliners to get a premium spot for the superjam.

^^^as would I.....well the headliners arent a big deal to me but there are alot of people I want to see this year and I would miss them all to camp out for Waits.....all being one days worth lol
Metallica + Kanye (- Jack Zep) x "big announcement" + WSP (- ABB) x "major announcement" (-Tom Waits) = headache
i think everything is pointing to Waits making an appearance at The Farm.
AC hosting the tour?
rumors of Gogol, Claypool, and Hammett?
Waits having dates in TN (But quickly got pulled from the dates list?
these things are not coincidental, folks - these particular artists have been friends for at least a decade, except for Gogol and Tom. But if you remember right, JPJ had never even met his jam-bandmates until just a few hours before stagetime last year.

I agree about the slew of coincidences but I think the tour day getting yanked was just a mishap because the official announcement hadn't been made yet so they pulled it.....but that was for june 29th....trust me I would like nothing more thanMr. Waits at the farm but I have to keep my head out of the clouds on this one, I don't want to be anymore dissapointed then I was this morning with the tour being so far away
