Really i have never had any problems...*knocks on wood*. The first year i went i even had my neighbors find this girls wallet, bank card, id, cash and everything....we went around all weekend and would occasionally would yell her name...one of the peeople who found the wallet found the girl like on sat night....she i guess dropped it THURS when she got there! I have always thought that was one of my cooler roo stories!

That really is cool. Fine example of the ideal festival atmosphere.

The general crowd at roo is very kind and cool, but of course there are sneaky people in every cool crowd.
Our neighbors caught some punks trying to steal their cooler FULL of beer and food. Let's just say it wasn't a pretty sight lol. No hitting, but words were exchanged and the dudes looked really ashamed.
So we plan on putting most of our stuff out of sight in the tent when we're not around and leaving any super valuables locked up in the car where they should be!

*Knock on wood* but I have never had a problem in the past. If anyone in our group is concerned about something and we absolutely NEED to bring it to roo, we just make sure to lock it up in the car. Also, make sure to bring a spare set of keys, we have seen way too many people lose a set and have a lot of trouble getting back in their car.

good point for the spare keys and karma!
what I suggest is to get a decent sized magnet and put a copy of your key underneath your car somewhere that has easy access. That trick has been a life saver for a few of my friends.
But, I know some people have certain keys that you can only get extras of at the dealership and such for quite a bit of money, but if your able to bring a spare do so!

Someone up and walked off in my shoes last year! S'ok though, I got me a real cool pair with pot leaves on them...I leave dinosaur tracks! Still hope they got a blister from my petite size 5's

We always use zip ties for the tent instead of a lock. Both serve to keep the quick casual theif out of our stuff, but if the theif has a knife, I'd rather they cut the zip tie instead of the tent wall.
The metal lock may leave them no choice. There is usually little of value in the tent, but having a rain tight tent has a value of it's own.
We lock all our serious valuables away in the car when we are out festing about.

Another good idea is to lock your tent from the inside from the sides or non main entrances and from the front on the main visible entrance. They might just think the zipper is broke and not want to mess with it.
