I was excited to go to Roo 2008 for the hopes of a possible zeppelin reunion. But was alright w/ the Plant/Krauss duo. Since I couldnt go and havent read anything, anyone out there attend this performance. Also, any guests or guesses at set list.

It was the only act on Sunday that my husband wanted to see and he left halfway through it because he said it was very boring and not that great........

Yeah we have it and he was familiar with most of the songs. I think it just needed to be in a more intimate environment maybe. The CD sends me to sleep anyway so I didn't bother going to see them
I felt the same about Damien Rice last year - I love him, but at Roo last year it just didn't come across the same as in a smaller venue.
That was one of the feelings I wanted to get. I like D Rice too and opted to leave after 5 min last year cuz it def wasnt something I wanted to sit through. I was interested though if some rockers came out and played some zeppelin covers, but not sure if they do that on their tour, my guess is no but it was bonnaroo and that kinda stuff should be happening
They did play several Zeppelin songs. I had a different opinion - I thought it was the best set I saw on Sunday, really great music and sounded spectacular. No, it wasn't lively and high energy, but you don't necessarily need that Sunday evening. But it did have some heavier parts and some pretty good solos.

We only watched the first hour. I don't remember the order, but they started with I Got a Woman and played several more off of Raising Sand: Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us, Fortune Teller, Trampled Rose. They also did a slow version of Black Dog and they did Plant's In The Mood.
I love their CD, but the set was a little too low-key for us after all the energy from the previous night. Glad we stopped and caught the last hour of DCFC for a little more pep before hitting the road.

i was very impressed by the whole show except i was expecting a better encore. i was WAAAY in the back hiding in the shade next to the mist tent but i really enjoyed the music. im sure it was very hot up in the crowd which may have affected peoples opinions on the show.
I'm thinking the best sets of the weekend were either Metallica or this.
Seriously, Alison Krauss is the best singer I've ever heard live. Plant was flawless. No guests, but who needs em given the players? A few Zep songs, including an AMAZING Battle of Evermore.
Without doubt, the best Country show I've ever seen, and one of the best I've seen, period.
Absolutely incredible. He was extremely humble to the whole festival and took after Bela by staying after and thanking individually. I believe he went on Donavan's set as well...
For me, I had planned on seeing about half an hour of Plant/Krauss, just to say that I saw Robert Plant, and then heading over to Broken Social Scene. I....didnt make it to BSS, because Plant & Krauss sucked me in HARD. That set was amazing. Maybe the best set on Sunday.
i too was in awe of being so close to robert plant since i made it to third row pit. along with the "see you soon" comment at the end, he said something mid-set about "feels pretty good up here" that got a big cheer from the crowd. all in all one of my favorite shows of the weekend.

I almost cried during Down to the River to Pray (is that the name?), Battle of Nevermore was fantastic, maybe the best single song of the whole thing. I really enjoyed their set. Plus it's fun to see Robert Plant, he's still got charisma.

Same deal here man, only with me missing most of death cab because the show put me in a trance. i was also in the pit, which helped. he ate up the crowd, and being able to see him on the stage so well from where i was, it looked like he was genuinely touched that everyone still thought so highly of him -- maybe because it was a younger crowd. oh, and alison krauss has one of the greatest voices of all time. when she busted out sister rosetta, i almost cried because it was so beautiful.
