Ok, this year was my first 'Roo and i had a great time. !!! and Broken Social Scene were the highlights for me. Anyway, onto my story from Friday night...ok...me and my girl were back at camp trying to rest after M.I.A. and before Metallica. We could hear Chris Rock from where our camp was. 10 minutes into Rock, a normal looking 20 something suburbanite kid comes wondering near our tent and i think, "no big deal, he needs to pee" (we were right by a tree line and all kinds of ppl were doing it). He proceeds to not pee, but rather try to look at stages or Centeroo or whatever through the brush and the tree line. Me and my girl are in the car at this point just chillin' and i decide i should hop out and talk to the kid and see what he's doing. I ask him what's up, what he's looking for, etc....he just says, "we're chillin" in a rather meathead-ish way, but his eyes are huge and he looks right through me. Now i understand the issue. He points towards the trees and says, "it's in there". Ah yes, the concert, the Roo experience...it is in there young man, but you can not go that way. He asks me (and he is dead quacking serious) why i will not go in with him and that I KNOW THAT IS THE WAY, so why am i doing this? I tell him that he needs to go to the road (not far) and that there will be a way for him to get in that way. He isn't fased by this. He keeps shaking his head at me like he can't believe what i'm saying. Obviously i know he's on the seeing things no no word and so i understand he needs help finding his way. Before i help, he's determined to go through the woods into Centeroo so i don't argue and watch him try from the car for about 7 minutes...he loves this one spot in the brush and keeps crawling in about half way and coming back out and demanding that i go in with him. I keep explaining, "you can't go in that way man, but i'll help you go the right way on the road". After 15 minutes of reasoning with him (he tries to get in my car during this time as well, i firmly but nicely say he can't do that)...we finally set off towards the road. He periodically wanders away and sets his sight on "the spot" in the woods that will take him in (or so he thinks). I remain calm and say, "no man, we have to go this way"...finally, we come upon a group of 7 campers that were actually at their site (a lot empty at this point) and they begin to help..."yeah man, listen to him, the road is that way", and "that's the way in, don't worry you are going the right way", etc...we get up to the road and you have to go under a little rope and dude WILL NOT do it...he keeps going back to the camp where the 7 ppl are and they don't understand. I tell them I've been with dude for 25 minutes (i tried to get him back to his camp too but he just said "Corona flag" and i didn't see one anywhere near) and i need help reasoning with him, and that he wants to go through the woods, blah blah. Finally, i convince one of them to take care of the guy because i have to go into the show now and maybe the guy just doesn't trust me and that's fine, i tried, etc....so i left him with some phriendly peeps. The next day i find out that "Tom" from the camp, stayed with dude an hour and a half and finally got him into Centeroo near the ferris wheel. He said dude would not go under the arch under any circumstance. He also said dude would not take kindly to walking on the road because it was "red"....he also said the guy kept calling him "Brad" and then asked me, "is your name Brad?"...i said no, it's Ryan and he said, "I'm Tom"....so obviously dude was lost but ended up getting to Centeroo...and who knows what happened to him next. I never did see him again, but i will never forget it. Hope this story wasn't too long and you all enjoyed it.
Not too long at all. Karma for a great story.... Something similar to this has happened to me at 4 of the 7 Roo's I've attended (including this year). I worked in a medical tent all night Saturday night in 2002 and it happened like 15 times in one night.

lol.. it's those kind of fokes that end up OD'd on shit and dead in the middle of a field or snuffin through people tents stealing stuff.
Been there, I totally understand how the poor guy feels. Maybe if you let him wander a bit (but of course, keep an eye on him) he would would have figured out you were right. At least he got to Centeroo, I can't say that much for myself at some times.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
Hahah! I know right! The ciggarrette burn didn't really hurt, I just watched her do it.... could have been the state I was in at the time though! ..
She was so damn cute she got away with anything she wanted. We were in the mud hut and she'd walk up and smear mud on the faces of random people. I kept having to clean people's faces off with my towel!
As I was walking back to camp Thursday night we saw a guy kinda looked like a frat type, no shoes or shirt wandering around camp, had his arms out kinda for balance. He kept looking back at us as we were walking chomping his teeth and mumbling. Finally he started talking about getting directions we asked where he needed to go. He then explained he just needed a direction, any direction. So we pointed. Unfortunately we pointed the same direction we were going. Oops!
