Tonight I'm making couscous with dried cranberries, toasted pine nuts, cubed chicken breast with adobo, onions and garlic. Sometimes I throw a little grated parmesan in there to make it creamy. Crusty bread and a big salad on the side. We ate like crap all weekend, time to get back on track here!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

3 cheers for Marrow! That Symon's a pretty cool dude. I'm cooking baby yukon golds with carmelized onions, fresh morel mushrooms & bacon. Not sure whether it's a side or an entree but sure smells like love.

Ohhhh morels!! Did you hunt them yourself? I had the best little secret swatch of land in Kansas, loads of them. But I don't have one in Ohio and this is really the week to start here in Northern Ohio. Bummer.

Cake pops=heaven on a stick. Actually, almost anything on a stick is great.

Oh man I love cake pops! And they are such a crowd pleaser, I make them whenever I have meetings at work or any social gathering I am going to. Anytime I leave an office they aren't sad to see me go, they are sad to see the cake pops go. I toyed with the idea of making cake pops for roo but I was afraid they would melt before they made it.
OMG last night I made grilled eggplant, risotto with garlic/parmesan and white wine, and a salad. I had eaten risotto numerous times but had never made it. I think that is going to be my new favorite experimentation food...the possibilities seem endless!
Lobster corndog? Interesting. Well I guess I've had a gator corndog.
Gator sounds good as well. That actually gets me excited for Roo and Blackened Gator.
Truth is anything on a stick tastes better.
Hmmm now I'm thinking about foods that would be better on a stick... like clam fritters... corn pudding... fried cornbread.. fried mac n' cheese... pierogi... kopytka... stuffies!! (that's a stuffed quahog... think clam meatloaf, but much more delicious than that sounds! )

I'll say it again. Anything tastes better on a stick.
I picked up some Salumi Rosemariano Salami that is amazing, a big slab of smoked pork belly, and some 25 year old Balsamic Vinegar yesterday at a friends gourmet shop. Not sure what I am going to make yet but I bet it is good.
All you Nashvillians need to go and check out Lazzarolis by the way, easily the best gourmet food shop in town right now, and certainly the best fresh pasta and ravioli. If you like fresca Mozzarella go on a Saturday afternoon and get the stuff they made that morning, it is a different beast from supermarket stuff.
