This thread has officially gotten out of hand. But allow me to say something just once more.
THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO BELIEVE THERE WILL BE ANOTHER HEADLINE ADDITION. PERIOD.
Logistically speaking, how are they to accommodate Beasties --> "Mystery Headliner" --> Phish all on the what stage and have them go ontime.
Phish's lights n stuff have to be up (recall: Radiohead screens, Flaming Lips UFO, Tool screens n lazers) way before anybody steps foot on the What stage. For this reason Beastie Boys, who don't have a shitload of lighting gear, only a DJ Booth + 3 Mics) are the logical fit for Friday. Because, logistically, they can work around Phish's lighting.
Same thing goes for Saturday. NIN lights n such have to be setup and prepped as soon as Phish steps ends their latenight on Friday. Bruce doesn't carry around a terribly elaborate stage so this is exactly why Bruce is the perfect headliner for Saturday (he can play his whole set while NIN light banks and stuff are setup but tucked away in the back. They cant afford another Kanye type deal with NIN fans. But I know Trent would never do that to us.
I think Bonnaroo finally realized that What Stage latenight shows can be really special if they are well thought through. Purely thinking logistically, imo, they CANT afford squeeze in another friday Headliner. They had 3 Headline level acts last year and JJ > PJ > Kanye and that barely went off. This year they have Snoop > Beasties > Phish. There is simply no more Headliner room.
I really don't know how it's gonna pan out but the only thing I can't wrap my head around in this day and age of bonnaroo is every other stage shutting down for the beasties

yeah i was thinking about this. and honestly, even though i totally respect the fans that are gonna ditch phish for other acts, but do they really think they're gonna have phish on the what stage up against other acts? i mean half of the whole roo community is going to be at phish gauranteed. those tents aren't gonna be very full IMO. do they really wanna do that? maybe we'll get like the beasties from 8:30ish til like 11ish and then phish from 11:30ish until like 2ish with nobody on during phish and then the tents light up for a phish afterparty extravaganza at 2? i dont know, just jibba jabbin here but think about how sweet that could turn out. although the traffic flow into centeroo from what stage at 2 would be a sight to see.

i love phish but i have to admit i'm totally cool with the rest of the tents and stages playing during them if they really do play what stage friday night. they are gonna play so long that i won't matter. i sat in traffic for 48 hours in coventry after 4 shows in 5 days if i miss the first hour of phish coming on stage at roo i won't die

that seems plausible since phish is actually dubbed as a "late evening performance" as opposed to late night.
You know I was joking, but I tihnk maybe the silence on Friday is because they are getting Zep, Plant said a couple of times how much he loved 'roo last year. I mean if they were going to do an American one off Bonnaroo would be the place, and they would not announce before all the fans had a chane to buy tickets first.

please dont do this to me again. if i let myself consider this it will only lead to disapointment.
I am thinking Beasties Thursday, Zep 8-1>Phish 2-6 Friday, Bruce 8-12>NIN> 1-3 Saturday, and Phish 8-4 to close it out on Sunday. Really I think this was the plan since the letdown last year.

Ya'lls setup theory is seriously flawed...Jay-Z would need far less set up time than beastie boys...All he needs is a mic and maybe a live band behind him - JayZ is awesomeness in himself, he requires no lighting setup, just the mic.

I personally am not a huge fan of Phish, but I am looking forward to their seeing them at least once. But I think it would be a waste of perfectly good late night time to shut down everyone for a late night set. Hopefully this isn't taken as disrespect, but during the late night set I think that the tents should be open. Also please please please don't toy with us with the Led Zep ideas. It hurts my heart to see them missing every year.
For this reason Beastie Boys, who don't have a shitload of lighting gear, only a DJ Booth + 3 Mics) are the logical fit for Friday. Because, logistically, they can work around Phish's lighting.
The Beastie boys have a full stage setup, with multiple instruments, amps, and mics, just like any other band. They do have 3 mics and a DJ booth, but they have a lot more up there than just that, and they play instruments for at least half of their show.

Perhaps the other headliner people are waiting for isn't music........but a headline comedian? That will do a set between Beasties and Phish on Friday on What stage?

they always have an instrumental sets in the middle of their show which usually involves 6-7 people. I've seen this band/group 3 times and can't wait to see them again.

This thread has officially gone off the deep end. Zeppelin? Don't do this to yourselves again. There is LESS than a 0% chance of Zeppelin being there.
Great, now the media outlets who use inforoo as their primary source of Bonnaroo rumors will start talking about Led Zeppelin again because of this thread. Then you guys will get all excited again because some shiatty website said it might happen, even though you yourselves will be the original source of this terrible, terrible rumor.
ugh.... can NOT BELIEVE you guys are doing this AGAIN! Bonnaroo is a music festival, not super-fantasy-every-dream-ever-will-come-true-happy-land.

Actually I have always thought of Bonnaroo as a super-fantasy-every-dream-ever-will-come-true-happy-land. I think this might be legit though. I mean they dont want to tour but a one off show at Bonnaroo could happen, we all now how hard they tried to get them last year.

What he said^^^ My brain and twig and berries will officially explode if Zeppelin happens. No way Bonnaroo will do this to us...having three headliners like that...it wouldn't be fair, no other moment in our lives, sadly may how it sounds, will be able to amount Bonnaroo weekend this year if it happens
no flippin chance of zeppelin, seriously, no chance in hell, sorry i cant let myself even halfway believe this again, led zeppelin will never ever EVER play bonnaroo
i think it's possible that beastie boys will be playing the fri. headliner spot but they won't be unopposed like usual. then when phish goes on everything stops and picks up again as an after party type thing. or the way i had it in my fake schedule was beasties 8-10, late nights start when beasties end, phish starts at midnight.

When they lead off with Good Times Bad Times remember who said it first. After all where else would they play?

I swear to fucking god there is a group of people on this board every year that are absolutely convinced that Led Zeppelin is going to reunite with all four original members and special guest Buddy Holly. And they remain convinced of this fact until everyone drives out of the parking lot Monday morning.
No matter the fact that LZ’s manager has said it’s never going to happen. No matter the fact that we've already got FOUR headliners. No matter the fact that Phish is playing twice. No matter the fact that there are already FIVE headlining sets for a four day festival. Something else "HUGE" is always about to happen. Greedy, ungrateful, unappeasable brats.

^^Maybe Phish will....Wolf I think you may have finally lost that last marble I hope you're right, but I refuse to get my hopes up about this one.
Adding LedZep would put Bonnaroo 2009 in the same conversation as the original Woodstock, though.
