I voted 500 but I actually bring 600. I buy all my food there and I come home with a lot of souveneirs. And I usually have about 100-150 dollars left over when I get home. And that 600 includes all gas money and road expenses. And a few cartons of cigarettes since prices down south are much better than here in Michigan.

I take $300 and still have some left Monday.
But I eat breakfast and lunch at my campsite. I smuggle a little liquor into Centeroo to cut down on beer purchases. I don't buy many souvenirs or "recreational supplies".
So if you like to live large I would agree with the $500 people.
300 bucks has worked great for me.
(I'm not including gas money or money used to buy supplies like hand sanitizer, water, ice, etc. before the trip. If I included all that then it would be about $500-$600)
It really depends. If your going to be buying alcohol or party favors there I would say bring a little extra but if not $100-200 should get you through the festival. I brought $200 last year and left with about $50 left over, I will be bringing the same amount this year. I just buy food/drinks Ive never really been one to spend much on souvenirs.
I voted $300 for two of us, but honestly that is just for the random t-shirt or slice of pizza @ Centeroo, or recreational items that I may stumble upon.
Other than that I don't need any money because I bring everything I need. It is nice to have emergency funds though. I'll be going with next to nothing this year and am not really worried about it. I'll have back up gas money, all the food I need for the week and a teeny bit of cash but for the most part I won't spend it.
Its 4 dollars a slice but I found cheaper on Shakedown street. (It tasted horrible but hey it was food. ) If you want to save a little money look for the $1 grilled cheese, I could live off of those all weekend if I had too.
I bring about $150. No party favors, but usually a tshirt, some food and a beer or two, and ice if ours melts. I bring a lot of food/drink and supplies
Yeah it is about the same as any place that sells pizza by the slice like Sbarro. I would have eaten the $1 grilled chesses all week but I never saw them. I would rather eat the food I bring though.

this.
minus the souvenirs, cartons of cigs and buying my food at the festival.

I've $700 set aside for the trip including gas, party favors, dinner in centeroo, bootleg tshirt, maybe some jewelry or a glass piece. I know that I'll come home with some money bc I'm a chaepskate.

lol rename this the WallyGriswald question thread
a.) yes 4 dollars is an expensive slice of pizza......but it's large. and also - most of the high-priced food items will leave you filled and are not any different than if you were to buy food at a sporting event or disneyworld or something. you can find cheap food throughout the campsites
b.) camping near shakedown? well first you'd have to have a consensus of where shakedown is. I've heard a few different places that people thought was "THE" shakedown street.
but anyway it's hard to get a camping spot near "shakedown" because your camping spot is wherever they park you and your car.
c.) you realistically could make the whole festival on $100 dollars or less (this is spend money.....not travel/gas money). you can bum waters off of people by walking around camp-sites or just refill a water bottle at one of the fountain/water stations. if you don't bring ANY food and plan on eating ONLY stuff at the festival then I could see that being under 20 dollars a day (unless you eat a ton of food).
btw.....can we create like an FAQ thread so each year we don't have to keep repeating the answers to the same questions every time there's a new member with a bunch of questions.

well yeah, it looks like I will be spending money on pizza and grilled cheese instead of groceries. Due to the fact that I don't want to buy groceries that go bad... I just don't want to deal with the hassle. I have enough hassle trying to find a good camp spot. I will leave my car and find somewhere good to camp and buy food at the festival.

I suggest atleast bring something to eat for Breakfest. Something like Granola Bars or Pop Tarts. Plus some snacks like chips or what not. You dont have to worry about it going bad and you only have to buy 1 meal a day. It will save you alot of money.
hmmm lets boil this down to how much you need for each day if you plan on spending a lot which i do.
food = $25 - 30 a day if you eat a lot and have the munchies a lot(that pizza looks damn good when you've been in Centeroo for a while
souvenirs = $20 lets say 20 because you may not buy a souvenir one day
beer and drinks = $30 im going with 30 because were going to try and drink more at the campsite, only paying for those heady Sweetwaters at the Brooers tent
party favors = $50
so that's about $130 a day coming to roughly $520. then my gf and i will probably spend about another $100 on drinks and then about $150 or so on additional supplies. so our total is gonna come to about $750 to $800 per a person. we like to go all out and be incredibly comfortable.

"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
I spent $120 last year, and I ate pretty much every meal in Centeroo (minus bfast), bought a few souvenirs and a cute purse from a vendor. I didn't buy any beer in Centeroo though, mostly because I can't justify spending $6 on a beer when I could walk 5 minutes to my camp and drink one
so if I decide to not get groceries and just eat at the show we are looking at $100 extra dollars aye?
It depends. A lot of eating back at camp is based on how far is your tent from centeroo, how many shows are you going to, and f'n hot is it. I know when i went before we had a lot of food to cook but it was too hot and we didnt feel like makin ganything so we bought stuff from vendors

i was only going to have like 200 on me to spend there, which would be ok. then, my summer job called, i get a housing stipend of 700/month.... not a reimbursement (which i thought it was), meaning i'm moving in next week, spending only $200, but i still get the full $700.
needless to say, now i'll have about 500-700 at roo.
