what is your all time favorite piece of media? Can be a book, film, tv show, song, album, music video, etc.
Going for the tough ones.
Oh man, I'll have to think on this one for a bit.
This is a super tough question. I think I have it though. I picked Jeff Buckley's album Grace. It's an album that I've purchased three times now and one I can listen to over and over, front to back. What also makes it special is, when I was in early High School I watched a lot of MTV/VH1. They were doing a fund raiser for AIDS and if you donated x amount, they would send you a gift. The stories and videos they aired shot straight to my overly emotional heart and I took my savings of around 60 dollars and sent it in. A few weeks later I received a package with a several CDs. ABBA, Elton John, and Jeff Buckley's were the only ones I remember. At the time most of the music I listened to consisted of poppy bands that I had heard on the radio. Jeff Buckley's Grace opened up a whole new world to me. Music that was touching, well written, beautifully played but yet somehow wasn't on the radio. From that point on, I would venture out every now and again to find music that strayed a bit from the norm.
I suppose the first thing that comes to my mind is a friend was going to have her son undergo a surgery that I have reservations about. We talked about it and I gave her my advice and she followed it. I suppose that follows under "If it's not broken, don't fix it."
My brother dated one of the kindest, unique, girls I've ever met. She was 19 and pregnant with her 3rd child when he started dating her. I gave her the advice that, "she just give the baby up for adoption or give it to her mother." I was so unsupportive and thought of the child she was carrying as a burden. After I had my own children, I spent hours and hours trying to track her down. I finally found her number and called an apologized.
Anything handmade by my children is special to me. As far as gifts bought, I received two handmade pottery dishes. One of them has a pregnant woman with antlers. My friend said it reminded her of me and gave it to me as a gift for supporting her through her pregnancy and birth.
My mother bought me a cream colored sweater, 3 sizes too big, with sewn in pearls around the neck. It was totally old lady style and nothing I'd ever wear. I actually had to ask her, "Mom? Seriously?"
I know there are so many reasons why you are a super awesome person, but this one rings true to my heart. I LOVE pomegranates! Have since I was a kid & always look forward to finding them in stores. One day I will buy myself a tree.
I know Dave hates seeing them since I always ask him to peel it for me. The texture/taste of this fruit is so unlike anything else I've had. I <3 it so!
1/Do you follow any sports? 1a/If yes, are you a big UT football fan? 1b/If no, do you passively ignore or actively say "shut up" when Dave gives you his 1,363rd theory on who the next Vols coach will be?
I do not. I like to watch live sports and I will watch hockey/football on TV and of course the Olympics.
I somewhat follow UT football I usually know who/when they are playing and I watch the score. Though the last couple years I've lost more and more interest. Which each new coach, I do get a rush thinking "Maybe this year!"
When Dave or anyone starts talking about the next coach, my mind goes into screensaver mode.
I go dancing quite often. I love to read and I play games a bit online. I'm playing league of legends now though I used to be much more involved in MMOs.
3/It's your last meal and you can have any appetizer, soup, salad, entree and dessert. Your choices?
I just found these while looking for crab stuffed mushrooms. These are dates stuffed and wrapped in bacon. I think I would choose these instead though. I'm a big fan of chicken wings and shrimp cocktail too. I would probably just order a ton of appetizers.
Beef Pho. I've only had it once but it was so good.
Puleo's Grill has this amazing salad. I cannot find pictures of it but it is soooo good. Romaine hearts, spring mix, carrots, marinated artichokes, sweet roasted red peppers, asparagus, tomatoes, and cucumbers, topped with sprouts and sunflower seeds
For dinner a TBone steak cooked medium rare with a baked potato butter/sour cream and sauteed asparagus. Also, I need to be alone so I can eat the good parts of meat around the bone and eat the potato with the skin on, which isn't a pretty sight.
I'm not much for desert so probably a cigarette and a hot cup of coffee with cream/sugar.
1. The people and how they come together for each other (Qsaroo in particular!) 2. Tinychat/Turntable 3. Brunch 4. Now Playing and the ability to find new music 5. Perfectly placed gifs
10/On a scale of Panicking to Totally Set, how prepared are you for Christmas?
I have bought nothing except my SS gift for inforoo and 1 other gift. I hardly ever buy prior to a couple weeks out anyway and we don't go crazy on gifts. The kids get 1 santa gift each, 1 or 2 gifts from us, and stockings. We can't afford to buy for friends/family and have made it clear not to buy for us. It really makes the season more bearable not to be stressed about buying the "perfect gift" for everyone one and going over your budget.
Your sig/avatar have been Tank Girl themed for as long as I've been on the board. Are you a big comic fan in general? anime? manga?
I am not a big comic fan. I used to collect XMen cards in High School and so I spent a lot of time in the local comic book store. I would read Xmen, Tank Girl, and Ghost in the Shell... though rarely I got my hands on the last two.
If you could only add one topping to an ice cream sundae, would it be chocolate or caramel sauce?
Hmmm I always pick both so I'm trying to remember what they would taste like separately. I suppose it would be caramel and hopefully it will the type that gets a little hard being in the cold icecream.
hummers2187- Regardless if you are talking about the gas guzzling vehicle or Bjs plus the addition of the poster's age and birthyear.. this one just gets under my skin.

Most embarrassing childhood memory? Fondest childhood memory? Guiltiest pleasure, music wise? Favorite subject in school? Favorite subject to teach your kiddos about? (1 for both, or 1 for each!) Favorite holiday? Favorite time of day? Now that you have your very own car, where would you like to drive it if you had a month to yourself and money was no issue (no ferries!)? Favorite way to unwind after a long day? Which festival have you not yet been to that you would most like to? If you could magically play any instrument of your choice, which would it be and why? If you could magically speak any language of your choice, which would it be and why? Is Dave ticklish?
When I was in the 4th grade I was doing a spelling test. I had a biznatch of a teacher. My mind was drifting and I suppose I had focused on someone else's desk. She thought I was cheating and walked up behind me and slammed her huge book down on my desk. It made me pee a little (not enough to show) because I was so startled and then she yelled at me in front of the class, calling me a cheater. It was only my first year in a new school so it really embarrassed me.
My brother and I fought often and we still have a very rocky relationship. My favorite memories are of him and I playing super mario kart or playing in the water hose on our farm.
Favorite subject to teach your kiddos about? (1 for both, or 1 for each!)
Math for Cash. It amazes me how quickly he picks it up and since it was one of the toughest subjects for me, I'm proud of how quickly he catches on. I don't do a whole lot with Miller yet. Unfortunately I'm sticking him on the computer/tv to focus on lessons w/for Cash. Miller loves music and singing. It is a subject we all do together so that would have to be a favorite for me.
Now that you have your very own car, where would you like to drive it if you had a month to yourself and money was no issue (no ferries!)?
If I was alone I would go coast to coast and visit friends/inforooers/gaming buddies and see lots of amazing concerts/fests. If I were with my family I would probably take them to a different country or at least do a month of landmarks around the US. This is something I really want to do to further Cash's education, in the future.
Almost every day after work I take a long (hours) bath. Turn the water on as hot as it will go and get my set up. Smokes/coffee/book/magazine and relax. I always start off with a magazine, move to the book I'm reading, and then take a nap in the tub.
If you could magically play any instrument of your choice, which would it be and why?
It would probably be piano. I love the way it sounds and the look of the instrument. I would have to be able to sing if I were to play the piano. If I couldn't sing, I would pick violin. It's rare that I hear someone play the violin and not get chills.
Yes he is, though I never engage in tickle fights with him anymore because he gets CRAZY and usually ends up hurting me. Not majorly, he just digs his fingers way into my ribs and it hurts like a mofo! It's like tickling Dave trips an insane/fight for your life button on him.
I HATE scary movies. The feeling of being scared is so not fun to me. I remember Dave and I going to watch The Grudge. I was about 8 months pregnant for Cash and it scared the hell out of me. My arms hurt for days because I was gripping the armrests so hard. Anything that runs in a glitchy or unnatural way really gets to me. Since then, I've been tricked, by friends, into seeing about 3 or 4 more scary movies.
Have you ever sung karaoke? If so, what was your go-to song?
No, I have a terrible singing voice. I only realized this after singing in my schools talent competition in the 5th grade. I cannot remember the song we sang but it was horrid. I think my go to song would be Regulators though, since I know most of the words and my friend and I split parts and sing at the top of our lungs, riding around in Knoxville.
