Favorite Child (I kid, I kid ) Hubby and I actually had this conversation one day and swore each other to secrecy
We do go on other vacations but usually with the kids. Last year we took them to DC and Floydfest. This year it's not until November, a cruise to Belize, Roatan, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.
States, hmmm I had to count that and it's only 17, that kinda sucks.
I'd like to tank everyone for being gentle during my time as BMOTM. It is now my honor to present to you, representing Girly Fashion, Atlanta GA and Roo Tus this months BMOTM, @mayonaise

Mayooooooooooooooo!!! <3 Since you have a short month I'm going to start with a handful!
Aside from pandas and cats (Randy), what is your 3rd favorite animal? Favorite insect? Least favorite insect? Guilty pleasure TV show? Favorite movie? Favorite book of all time? Favorite band/musician of all time? To date, what is the craft creation you are most proud of?
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Thank you, Kat Im pumped. I was not at the computer today for work, so Im seeing this just now, and Im gonna get to some of these questions!
Also, being that I am BMOTM, and that means I get what I want - I would like to be known as Miss March.
And bc I can not find the original 1987 playboy centerfold pic with the writing all over it from the car thieves:
Mayooooooooooooooo!!! <3 Since you have a short month I'm going to start with a handful!
Aside from pandas and cats (Randy), what is your 3rd favorite animal? If cats includes all felines (including the BIG cats), then I'd have to say... hmmm... that's hard. I really love all mammals. I enjoy penguins. I like animals that are mega-cute. I just saw a video of a grown dog teaching a baby puppy dog how to get down some stairs, and it made me happy.
Favorite insect? I do not like insects. Not even butterflies. Once you get past the pretty wings, they're just worms.
Least favorite insect? All insects. But particularly insects with exoskeletons AND wings. i.e. roaches. OH, and TICKS. OY.
Guilty pleasure TV show? There's SO MANY to choose from!!! I love TV. It's generally always on, even if I'm not "watching." At the moment, Pretty Little Liars. And how about reality tv - I love Big Brother, Survivor, and Top Chef. .....that list can go on and on.
Favorite movie? Again, there's a lot. But Reality Bites for realz. And the Neverending Story. I can watch those on repeat.
Favorite book of all time? A wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'engle, and also The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. Both books I have rebought a couple times because I wear out the paperbacks.
Favorite band/musician of all time? ohhhhhhhhhh. Big GUNS question, CKS! of ALL TIME... Well. Hmm... this is hard too. I can't say there is just one. I have been greatly affected by several bands in my lifetime, and all at different points in my life. Right now, Arcade Fire and Radiohead are pretty much in my earphones at least once a week each for the past couple years. There was a time when I saw Better Than Ezra like 10 times in a year. They were my first non-parents, non-chapparoned concert, when I was 16.
To date, what is the craft creation you are most proud of? Also hard for me. I have done SO MANY CRAFTS in my years. I guess collectively, the PANDA HOODS have been the most gratifying. It was so fun to see them on so many people at one time, and see so many SMILING because of them. They may be the first crafts that I literally saw JOY on the faces of the receipients.
First concert? HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH 1994-ish. I was 14, get off me haters.
Last concert? PASSION PIT, MATT&KIM, ICONA POP AT MSG! It was so amazing. What I loved was how GRATEFUL and just humbled the bands were. I mean, Matt & Kim grew up in Brooklyn, and this was their first show ever at Madison Square Garden. They just couldnt say Thank You enough, and they were on FIRE.
Best concert? Arcade Fire, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, August 10, 2010. I'll never forget it. It was HOT. August in Georgia. We were drenched in sweat and we hadn't even started. Spoon opened. There was only one person in front of me, and we were center. there's something special about being that close to the people creating the sound. Of course Win leaned out over us and I touched him and he sweat on me. But the ENTIRE CROWD around us was 100% into it. There wasn't one person who was just standing there chillin, not one person on their phone, not one person NOT having the BEST time. We danced together, we jumped in sync, we ALL sang at the top of our lungs. WE FOUND THE LIGHT
Worst concert? ugh. I saw BATHS open for Phantogram or Com Truise or something, and he was horrid. ...I guess there have been worse shows, but that comes to mind right away.
Bucket List concert? HMMMM, well since I've been to MSG now, I suppose I'd like to see Arcade Fire or Radiohead or some other such epic artist play somewhere equally epic. i.e. AF played Edinburgh Castle once. I could get down with that.
Favorite Roo? Oh wow. I will answer as favorite Roo in GENERAL. Bc when it comes to different aspects it can range. But I'd say 2010. I was having a preeeeeeeeeetty shiiiiiiitty summer. But 2010 was the year I took my brother with me for his first Roo, and the year that I really met a ton of Roosters. That year was different than years prior ('07, '08, '09) because I realized after the first couple days that the music may have brought me there, but that wasnt what MADE it for me. It was the friendships and all these people coming together to enjoy each other and create this new city for 4 days! Not to sound all hippy-dippy-peace-love-etc. but that's what Roo is for me now. It's my escape and a refuge. <3
Favorite Non-Roo Festival? Music Midtown pre-2005. That was really my intro to music fests. And I loved the diversity of the stages, and that it was a city fest, and just how much there was to DO. When it ended after the '05 fest, I was mega sad. When it came back, I was really excited - because I hope it gets back to what it was!
Which character from The Breakfast Club was your favorite?
Which John Hughes character did you most identify with in high school?
What is your favorite John Hughes Movie? - there are SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM SIGGY (I'm going with JH the writer, not just JH the director). Hmmm... I know every word and every action in Mr. Mom. I can say the same for Weird Science. I'll go with those.
Which character from The Breakfast Club was your favorite? Definitely Brian. Anthony Michael Hall's comedic timing is spot on. Also, he was the only one who's "problem" I related to, and didn't find irritating, selfish, or bothersome. (Also, I've been in love with Farmer Ted from 16 Candles forever. I even had a shirt in hs that looked like one he wears in the film, and I called it my Farmer Ted shirt.)
Which John Hughes character did you most identify with in high school? In high school, Molly's character in 16 Candles. OH SAM, YOU GOT YOUR BOOBIES. I had friends, and wasn't a wallflower or anything, but I just felt invisible to the people who were "important" in hs, and meanwhile had to deal with weird extended family etc. So I'll go with Samantha.
I love this question. I'd be interested in hearing your most disappointing concert (if that's different from the worst).
I would consider most disappointing definitely different than worst.
I've gone through a period in my life where I've been working on letting go of crap memories. i.e. why keep them and let them clog up the brain files if they're not worth anything? So I'm thinking hard about this. I saw Rogue Wave in 2010, and that wasn't necessarily great. WAIT! I got it. Built to Spill, 2008. MAN. It was a political rally. I was over it by the 2nd song. So I just drank my beer and tried to be interested.
Favorite condiment? Favorite medical clinic? Favorite Dallas Mavericks player? Favorite Irish county? Favorite Mexican month? Favorite New England Patriots player?
Favorite condiment? -Well, it's not mayo. It's horseradish. But Mayo is #2.
Favorite medical clinic? -I can tell you one thing, it's not CVS's minute clinic. It did NOT take me a minute when I went there a few weeks ago for my RAGING FLU, and I JUST got a bill from LabCorp for $21 for the strep test the nurse practitioner sent off. That was negative. Because i had the FLU. Idiots. I guess I'd have to go with the Mayo Clinic. You know. It's famous.
Favorite Dallas Mavericks player? - I dont care about the Dallas Mavericks. But I looked up the roster for fun. And while I'd love to say Dirk Nowitzski bc he has a "ski" name, I'll go with OJ. Mayo.
Favorite Irish county? - Mayo? No. Dublin. Because that is where Guinness was born. However, my dad seems to think that his sisters traced us back to some clan in Ireland, and I suspect it may have been in the Mayo region.
Favorite Mexican month? - MAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! No, actually, it's Junio. Because that's when Bonnaroo is.
Favorite New England Patriots player? - None. Not even the Mayo. ATL FALCONS RISE UP

ATL questions.
- Favorite Atlanta music venue? - Favorite neighborhood? - What are your top 3 ATL BBQ restaurants? Details encouraged, but ranking will suffice. - Have you ever received a lap dance from Blondie? - Would you ever live OTP?
Do you have a dedicated sewing/craft area? If so, can we see pictures?
What are your three favorite Atlanta restaurants?
Do you ever eat at Fat Matt's? Can you mail me some ribs?
What is the last concert you went to?
What is the last album you bought?
Do you have a dedicated sewing/craft area? If so, can we see pictures? - I do! But... it's a total mess. It looks like a hoarder lives in my craft room. Too further explain, I have the widest version of one of IKEAs closets, and it is packed. With ribbon, fabric, tulle, glitter, glue, a bag dedicated to adhesives, all my tools, a couple tool boxes, a couple large tupperwares of yarn and things I want to scrapbook, scrapbook containers... the list goes on. ...I did just get the new sewing machine though! I will post pics when it's not so insane in there.
Do you ever eat at Fat Matt's? Can you mail me some ribs? I have eaten at Fat Matt's. But I go for the sweet potato pie. DANG. Also, I will be happy to mail you some ribs!
What is the last concert you went to? See Steph's question above Passion Pit, Matt&Kim, Icona Pop at Madison Square Garden
What is the last album you bought? The new JT (Justin Timberlake, for you new fans). I've loved him for a long time. Looooong time. I'm pretty happy with the new work.
Also, I must have read A Wrinkle in Time a hundred times! Did you read the other ones? (A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, and Many Waters)
You know what? I HAVE read them, but I hardly remember them! Isn't that weird... I just love the first one SO MUCH. Maybe I'll read it again this weekend. maybe I will be inspired to read the rest of the stories too. <3
- Favorite Atlanta music venue? - Favorite neighborhood? - What are your top 3 ATL BBQ restaurants? Details encouraged, but ranking will suffice. - Have you ever received a lap dance from Blondie? - Would you ever live OTP?
- Favorite Atlanta music venue? Toughie. I think that the Masq - Heaven may be my favorite. It's just small enough that you can be up ON the artists or be way in the back, but still feel like it's intimate, and you can still feel involved. I love the Tab, but it's getting too expensive. I love the Earl, but it's super smokey and almost too small. The arenas are just arenas. Variety is definitely second only to the Masq... Yeah, Masq Heaven feels about right, but VP could tie it up.
- Favorite neighborhood? I lived in Toco Hills for 1 year, Sandy Springs for 2 years, the Highlands for 2 years, and now Decatur for 3.5. I think I can say with confidence that I enjoyed living in the Highlands for the time it was in my life, and I love living in Decatur for this time. I love both for their walking atmosphere, and the food/beer varieties. But I love Decatur more because the feeling is more about HOME. the Highlands is about fun, and partying, (and I know that people do) but the feeling is that no one really "LIVES" there. So I guess I'll go with Decatur. Honorable mention: Oakhurst, EAV, L5P. Fun times.
- What are your top 3 ATL BBQ restaurants? Details encouraged, but ranking will suffice. Why do I not have more love for BBQ? Is that weird??? Okay here I go. 1. Harolds BBQ - It's closed now, but their brunswick stew was the best I've EVER had. 2. Dreamland - Yeah yeah, chain chain. I know. But the pork is SO FLAVORFUL. And it smells wonderful in the parking lot. 3. Fox Bros. - the wings. Good Lord the wings.
- Have you ever received a lap dance from Blondie? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA no. Tbh, Never been to the Clairmont. As someone who shopped at the Murder Kroger for a couple years, I am well aware of the place, but have yet to actually make it there. In general, when it's 3am and I need to keep it going, Im at Metalsome. or waffle house.
- Would you ever live OTP? Nope. No way. I'm a city girl. And I know that people make promises when they don't have kids, that they break 100% of the time when they DO have kids, but I could live in Decatur forever, even with kids. Someone was telling me the other day that there are a couple schools here that are like #1 in the state and high up for the country as well. I dont think you have to take your children to the burbs to teach them to be great human beings. If you want to, that's cool, I just feel like there is so much MORE in the city, culturally, that can enrich your kids lives too. So if you can find a good learning facility that is safe - why not stay in town, if that's who YOU are as a person.
