I know you've said that Abbey Road is (correctly) your favorite Beatles album. What about favorite Beatles song? Lyric? Least favorite album? Most overrated song (looking for one that's generally widely considered as good, not necessarily just popular)?

Favorite Beatles Song - wow. This changes over time actually but two that I never get sick of are Norwegian Wood - just really makes me happy and I Want You (She's So Heavy) has great lyrics, great movement between essentially two songs in one, and they're all at the top of their game instrumentally on this one.
Favorite lyric - many of my favorite Beatles lyrics have been analyzed to death but I really think the simple yet true lyrics of Blackbird were perfect. I always heard it and though about how it applied to my life. Then I read that Paul wrote it about the civil rights movement in America and it became twice as beautiful:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Least Favorite Album - there are gems on every single album they made, but overall my least favorite has to be Beatles For Sale. I mean I'm a Loser is good, but if they continued to make albums like this instead of the ones they did, the Beatles would have been just another Hollies, Zombies, or Dave Clark Five invasion band.
Most Overrated Song - And Your Bird Can Sing - Revolver. I have Beatles friends who love this song, but I've always thought it was out of place on Revolver. All jangly and more like something from Please Please Me or Meat the Beatles!
PS: December's BMOTM has been determined and will be introduced late Friday or more likely late afternoon Saturday. I will have 6 7-year olds at my house all night Friday and kids' basketball games at 8am, 2pm, and 7pm on Saturday. Oy vey.
Well November is over and I appreciate the nomination and all the great questions - it was fun. However, you all are in for a December treat. I came up with a list of names of folks to nominate for next BMOTM, and they all would have been great, but one name jumped out at me as someone who would serve the position well.
Please help me welcome Abrakapokus as December 2012 Board Member of the Month!
Some easy baseline questions (I'll ratchet it up as the month goes along):
What is your favorite book? What is your favorite author? What is your favorite movie? What is your favorite actor? What is your favorite actress? What is your favorite fruit? What is your favorite vegetable? What is your favorite alcoholic beverage What is your favorite non-alcoholic beverage?

If I remember correctly, and it's been a while, we both had the day off and were just relaxing on the couch. Snuggling and watching TV in pjs, Dave gets up and disappears into the bedroom. He comes back and kneels in front of the couch where I was and says something like, "It's days like these, where we sit around and do nothing but appreciate each other's company where I realize how much I love you." Feel free to correct me Dave, but that's what I remember.
I love pandas. No, I LOVE pandas! They come in big and small, white with black markings. With top hats, glowsticks, dancing, smiles, hugs, music, love, colored hearts, CMs, pictures, and memories, how can you not?
Well the winning lottery numbers would be a start I'd love love love to go to Coach. The lineup is always fantastic but more than anything I'd love to see all my west coast ppl <3

Close but no cigar, woman. It is true that it was a day off, but you asked me to go to the store and get something (like a coke or cigarettes). When I got back, I went back to my hidey spot and came back out and said something to effect of "There's nobody I'd rather take care of for the rest of my life."
In Abra's defense, this was like eight or nine years ago, and getting married is a secondary event in our relationship. If you ever hear us refer to our anniversary, that date is when we entered a committed relationship and not when we got married.

Sorry babe. Dave already knows this but I have the worst memory EVER! It's true, I don't think we have ever celebrated our wedding anniversary but our dating anni instead.
I was very much into Stephen King until I read From a Buick 8 and then I lost interest. I've read a lot of Chuck Palahniuk and also enjoy David Sedaris.
Abra, can you believe I've known you less than a year?? Do you remember how/when we met?
I cannot believe it has been less than a year, though our year anniversary is coming up I defiantly do remember the first time we met IRL! I rode with Cliff to MikeD's mid year party. The whole way he was talking about you and telling me how awesome you were. He said as soon as I walked in I needed to highfive you and say something. Which I did. That weekend was magical <3
What festivals did you go to this year? Give us a review of each one.
Let's see: Bonnaroo-This was my second Roo but the first year that I have known any of inforoo prior to going. The music was great. My highlights were seeing RHCP with all of you, giving out beads, dancing our way up and having so much fun. Brunch was so much fun. Putting names to faces, happy dances, and just the love felt all around. Our Sunday night party at the RV with the gypsies and hooping contests will stay with me forever. Even though I'm not a huge fan of The Beach Boys, the vibe was amazing. AB, Skrillex, Tempertrap, Battles, Mimosa, Art vs Science, and The Silent Comedy all were great acts.
Forecastle- We had 2 day tickets to this festival but got to hang out with so many great people there. I became a MMJ fan. I remember KrunchyKat and I standing in the backfield and as soon as they started we both wanted to go up. Next time I will be on the rail. Bassnectar, realestate, THATH, Sleigh Bells, JTE, and Tan Lines topped the list for me. It was also Dale's Birthday and interesting to get to speak with him more. I hope to go back next year, the area was beautiful and the music, amazing.
Counterpoint- I was concerned being older, that this would be a bro fest and the fact that it was their first year wouldn't bode well for logistics. People were super friendly there. One of my BFFs from South Dakota flew in and we camped next to a couple of guys from Knoxville on one side and some teenagers from Miami. Both were very helpful! Skrillex, Avicci, Bassnectar, Big Boi, and FeedMe were my favorites. The festival was run very well. I want to return here too
Moogfest- Wow, what a great festival. This was our second year at Moog and somehow it was even better. I was concerned about the lineup at first but it ended up being amazing. I believe a large part of this years festival fun is because of Mayo and the hoods. It was so easy to meet up with friends and we met so many cool people asking about them. As far as the music goes, I was blown away by Squarepusher. I'll save the rest for Tom's questions. It was such a unique experience meeting Ashely and all the AC entertainment people, thanks Phi for setting that up!
BearCreek- What a beautiful festival. Thank you for making this happen Sarah! The setting reminded me of living in Mobile. The people were nicer than I could have ever imagined. Scrog's set up and spot saving were clutch. I met so many great people there, saw Charles Bradley, Lotus and Umphrees. I do not like Jam Bands though! I also met several inforooers I hadn't met before. It was nice having someone to party with all night after others had crashed. This is a must go to, again, for me.
What were your top three favorite shows of the year (at fests or otherwise)? What makes them so?
Wow, that's tough. Radiohead in Atlanta was my favorite show of the year. It was such a strange experience but I loved hanging out with all the inforooers before/after. I liked Radiohead before this show but after I understood why all the hype. It was the perfect venue and the perfect people. MMJ in Charlotte. I was first introduced to them at FC and was so excited to see them again. The group of us that went were amazing friends. The show was outstanding. From what I remember it was one of the best concerts. I can't decide for my third but I'll have to go with The Avett Brothers at Bonnaroo. I relate so much to their lyrics and love their live performance.
You're an amazing hooper (is that the correct term?)... would you be ok with sharing that video of you hooping with the inforoo world?
Thank you <3 This is a progression video that we take every couple of weeks after working out so no costumes or all that jazz. You can hear my instructor yelling at me in it She's amazing.
Would you rather go VIP (tent camping) or GA RV to Bonnaroo this year?
I think VIP tent camping. I loved the RV but the walk was SOOOOO far. A lot depends on the weather. If it's mild again vip tent, if it's hot as balls, RV. I feel like I should do TO at some point, like its a rite of passage.
What were your 3 favorite shows at Moogfest 2012 and why?
Squarepusher- What a mind quack! His experimentation with the different sounds, all the layers of gooey goodness, and when he came out with the bass guitar I was blown away. The visuals were great. I felt like I spent the entire show pressed up against the rail with my mouth hanging open.
Santigold- I was feeling a little anxiety right before this show. I was standing off to the side waiting on it to start and then inforooers joined me. I remember it starting, exhaling, and dancing my ass off. At the moment she first came out I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off me, it was a great feeling and the show was so much fun.
Ana Sia- She is someone I really look up to. I had the opportunity to interview her via email before Moog so I really researched her. She is around my age, doesn't play the sexy female card, and her music and mixing takes me back to my youth.
You received a well timed, much needed, granola bar from me before SBTRKT this year at Roo. If the tables had been turned and I was zapped by Roo and in need of snack, what would you have offered me?
