What's most important to you? Surrounding myself with people and things that will ultimately make me a better person.
Where were you born? Palm Springs, CA
What's your favorite color? PINK!
When was the last time you drunkenly vomited? I am happy to say that I don't remember, it has been a loooong time. I think it may have been my birthday 2013. We went on a cruise and I got very shit faced in the Bahamas. I couldn't drink vodka cranberries for like 6 months after that. It was bad.
What are the best and worst things about your job? Best: When we're slow I can play on my phone and watch Netflix. Worst: The fact that I work in law enforcement. I feel like I live a bit of a double life and sometimes it makes me feel really shitty and hypocritical. It was worse when I did warrant entries and stuff.. but it still sucks. Oh, and occasionally having people die on the phone with me. That's not so awesome.
How are you doing today? I slept for maaaaybe 3 hours, I'm hungover as shit and no one has brought me pancakes. But I'm going to the zoo lights tonight so that's cool. Right now I'd say it's a 4/10, with potential for a strong 7 later.
Would you rather live a life of even-keeled contentment or one of high highs and low lows? Highs and lows. You have to keep life interesting. Contentment halts progress.
Do you have friends in low places? Nah, we steady be turnt up.
What's the most gangsta shit you ever done did? Oh jeebus.... I went to a party once in the hood in a house my "friend" was squatting in. But that's not really gangsta. Maybe that answer to the last question. That was pretty gansta, right?
Did you try those miracle berries yet? I did! I actually just tried it yesterday! I had no idea what to expect, but it did make my banana taste different. It was a weird sensation. I'm excited to try it with other things. Any suggestions?
How often do you suspect people in your department take contraband from busts for their own personal use (feel free to not answer this one, or PM it)? Not nearly often enough. I don't think it happens much from busts, but I could see people in the jail taking things from people's property when they go to jail. Lots of people have called in claiming money or other belongings are missing. It's sad.
Fill in the blank: "I didn't choose the boring life, the boring life chose me."
How does it feel to be member of the month? Nerve wrecking. I'm really interested/afraid of what some people may ask.
What's your biggest pet peeve? I have lots, I can admit that. The biggest is when people either don't use their turn signals or don't turn it off and just drive with it on. ESPECIALLY on the freeway. Another is when people say they "could care less." It's the exact opposite of what they're trying to say. Oh, and the term "bae" needs die.
Are you tired of answering questions yet? Nope. These were fun and tame. I liked it. Good job.
A few come to mind, but the most tame one was when I was in 5th grade. I had a crush on this kid named Jonathan Gialluca and we were lining up at recess to go back inside. He was in the class that left first and he turned around and waved to me and made the "call me" motion thing with his hands and yelled that he'd be home from football around 5. So I waved back and was super excited. I called him and when he got on the phone I was like, "Hi! It's Monica, you wanted me to call you?" and he responded, "No I didn't. I was talking to Katherine. She was standing right in front of you." That would've been fine, but he was friends with all the "popular" sportster guys and he told them about it. I got teased for a very long time after that. I also dedicated a song to him on the radio before all that happened. It was an awesomely sappy song too. I was a totally cool kid.

I found him on Facebook. He's married. I just sent some flowers to his wife. You'll have him back soon enough.
I am actually Facebook friends with him. He is married. And has like 6 kids..... We're 25. Dodged a bullet there!!

Are you religious? Don't asnwer if that's not something you feel comfortable talking about? Not at all. Agnostic at best. I used to consider myself Atheist, but I've decided in recent years that I have some beliefs that are impossible to have as an Atheist.
Favorite Disney princess? Hmm......... Ariel. I would say Alice, but I don't think she's considered a princess.
When was the last time you cried? (Sadness or tears of joy, doesn't matter) I cry all the time, but the last time was like last week while watching The Wire.
When Wallace died I was so upset and teared up. But when D was yelling at Stringer, "WHERE'S WALLACE AT?! HUH STRING?! WHERE WALLACE AT!?" I lost it. Sobbed. At work.
Mountains or beaches? Beaches. All day, errrrrday.
Mexican or Italian food? Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Tacos, enchiladas, chorizo y huevos, carne asada....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
What is the meaning of life? 42
Favorite vacation of all time? Oooo... this is a good one. I would say Bonnaroo, but that's kind of a given, and not really a vacation, per se. Maybe my first cruise when I went to Cozumel/Tulum, Ochos Rios and Grand Cayman. We climbed waterfalls, went to botanical gardens in the jungle, saw Mayan ruins on the most beautiful beach I've ever seen and fell asleep on a hammock on the beach at sunset. It was a really great time.
Do you believe in love at first sight? No. I think people may fall in lust at first sight, but love requires getting to know someone. You can't love someone if you know nothing about them.
Did you vote in the last election? I did.
What's your biggest fear in life? Falling to my death. I'm terrified of heights. Like, paralyzingly terrified. But also being alone and unloved.
Socks or no socks when it's time for bed? Ew. No socks. Socks = sweaty feet.
I have more questions but don't wanna post too many at once, I love interviewing people. Have at it. You have a month.
I am actually Facebook friends with him. He is married. And has like 6 kids..... We're 25. Dodged a bullet there!!
Do you think it's crazy for anyone to have so many kids? Yes. I used to want 4 kids. Now I want none. 6 is too many. Is there any legit reason for doing this? If you're Amish I suppose. Or work on a non-industrial farm where the hands are needed, but those don't even really exist anymore.
How about having so many kids so young? Crazy. He's crazy. They're crazy. And the 4 youngest are like a year apart each. The two oldest are her's from her first marriage. She's like 10 years older than him or some shit.
Do you think Goldman Sachs should cease to exist? Yes. As with all financial institutions that have too much money and power for their own good.
As someone (like myself) who wants no kids, how do you feel when people say that you'll change your mind and eventually have them? It annoys the shit it out of me. My dad told me this last year when we were talking about it. He said something along the lines of, "You're young, you'll change your mind. But don't take too long to come around, because you don't have forever to decide." I'm a huge daddy's girl, especially since I never see him. But that really hurt and made me angry.
Pancakes or waffles? PANCAKES4LYF
Pepsi or Coke? I don't really like either, but I guess Pepsi.
What chain restaurants will you not eat at? If I can avoid Taco Bell I do. But for the most part I can find something on any menu that I'll like. I'm simple like that.
What's the weirdest/funniest name you have ever encountered?
I asked because your avatar reminded me of my favorite name ever.
HA! I've never noticed that!!!
Well, in my old position in records part of my job was running people for warrants. So when you get pulled over and they "run" you, I was the one they were talking to. I heard lots of great names through that. Unfortunately, I can't really think of any except for Justin Love. Which isn't really weird or funny. There were also Michael Michaels, William Williams, etc. I had a Peter Schlube once too. Which became an inside joke with my coworker and I. We would just randomly yell SCHLUUUUUUUUUUUBE at each other.
Did you play any sports in high school/when you were younger? Do you continue to now? (I consider running/lifting weights a sport for older people because a lot of the time it's all they have time to do.)
I remember you said "fuck Ohio state" in the past. How do you live in Columbus and have this opinion? (Fuck Ohio state)
Favorite fruits/vegetables?
Do you consider yourself a good cook? What's your favorite simple meal/your favorite exquisite meal to make for yourself? (I consider things like grilled cheese simple. Exquisite can be whatever you like.)
Favorite wild animal? Have any pets? If you could have one wild animal as a pet what would it be?
Have any favorite sports teams? Pro football: Steelers College football: USC Baseball: Reds Basketball: Lakers College basketball: OSU
Did you play any sports in high school/when you were younger? Do you continue to now? (I consider running/lifting weights a sport for older people because a lot of the time it's all they have time to do.) I have probably played every sport except golf and volleyball. From 7th-10th grade I ran cross country and track. Freshman and sophomore year I played basketball. And from 5th-9th grade I played softball. I also reffed soccer for a few years in high school. The only thing I do now is hoop. I don't really consider that a sport, per se, though.
I remember you said "fuck Ohio state" in the past. How do you live in Columbus and have this opinion? (Fuck Ohio state) This turned into a rant, sorry. TL;DR, Columbus residents make OSU football intolerable.
Being anti-OSU [football] and living in Columbus is difficult. I have been chastised for it several times since I was little. I think at first I didn't like OSU because everyone else did. I always said I was a Michigan fan, but really I was just a little shit head instigator. Nowadays, I don't like OSU for a few reasons, most of which stem from living here. Firstly, I think they are a bit overrated. They are definitely a good team, but I think that they are often rated based off their history, rather than their current talent. This isn't always the case. I have to admit, they played a really good game against Bama the other day. Secondly, their fans are just the worst. Steelers fans can be terrible, but OSU fans are just on their own level. It is one of the most obnoxious things about living in Columbus. On game days, the city literally shuts down. If you have something you need to get done, do it during a Saturday noon game. Lastly, and most importantly, the way residents here idolize the players is disgusting. I know a bunch of people who go to OSU, and I know several guys who went on to play for OSU (I know the entire Boren family, I grew up with AJ Trapasso and Andy Groom, and I know a bunch of other players who never got much field time). They are just college students. My friends who have had classes with them have told me several stories of the kind of shit players get away with academically. These are kids who are being treated like they are pro-athletes. When Maurice Clarett got arrested, deputies in the jail were asking for his autograph. They are held to such high expectations athletically that when they fail they are harassed like they lost the Superbowl or something. It's honestly just gross. I think if I didn't live here I wouldn't hate OSU's football program so much. The rest of their athletic program is fine, I love watching OSU men's basketball. But the way they treat OSU football around here is just sad and pathetic.
With all of this being said, I do still live in Columbus and have been to a few OSU games (for free with friends' Buck ID's). I have 3 OSU blankets, 2 OSU hoodies, an OSU beanie and more OSU shirts than I can count. It just comes with the territory.
Favorite fruits/vegetables? BA-BA-BANANAS!
Do you consider yourself a good cook? What's your favorite simple meal/your favorite exquisite meal to make for yourself? (I consider things like grilled cheese simple. Exquisite can be whatever you like.) I don't cook. I'm terrible at it. I have burnt ramen noodles before. However, I make a mean plate of spaghetti and like to just throw some random shit in there. Like peppers, mushrooms, and some other shit. I am trying to eat/cook at home more though. Oh, and I can't make grilled cheese. It always comes out either too mushy or burnt.
Favorite wild animal? Have any pets? If you could have one wild animal as a pet what would it be? I have a black lab named Topher. He's pretty great. I love elephants, slow loris, dolphins! and most big cats (leopards are probably my favorite). I would love to own a big cat of some sort. But they'd be like Christian the lion. Total sweet heart!
Worst injury you've ever had? I've had few serious injuries in my life. I tore my ACL in 10th grade, that'd be the reason I stopped playing sports in high school. It still causes me some issues from time to time. Other than that I can't think of anything.
Oh, and I can't make grilled cheese. It always comes out either too mushy or burnt.
The key to a perfect grilled cheese is low temperature and give it some time to cook. Too many people think they should turn the temperature on high so it gets done faster, but that doesn't give you a good melty cheese to crunchy bread ratio (grilled cheese was my favorite thing to make myself when my mom had to work when I was younger). Low and slow!
Also, would you share what really happened with Justin Boren when he left Michigan for Ohio State?
Would you like to know how and when you'll die if given the chance?
Who's your hero/role model?
How did Aaron Craft manage to stay in college for 7 years?
Do you sing in the shower? If so, what's your go to shower song?
You're at a party and the host has been playing horrible music all night long, to the point of multiple people complaining. You're the closest to the music system and someone says, "Monnnnnnnnnnie, play something good!" The pressure is on. No one is moving and grooving, and people don't wanna hear any more bullshit. Everyone is staring at you. What do you play?
What's your favorite euphemism for sex? Either 'Knockin' Boots' or 'Makin' Whoopie.' Not that I use those, I just think they're funny. Would you like to know how and when you'll die if given the chance? Maybe how so I can avoid it... but not when. I feel like it'd feel like a constant count down. Who's your hero/role model? I honestly don't know. Don't think I have one. How did Aaron Craft manage to stay in college for 7 years? Hey now, it took me 7 years to graduate college!! But seriously, I'm not sure who you're talking about. The only Aaron Craft I know played for OSU for 4 years, I believe.. unless this is a figurative question or something. Do you sing in the shower? If so, what's your go to shower song? Every day. I listen to Spotify while I'm showering/getting ready so I just sing along to whatever playlist I select. But I will belt out some Sam Smith or Adele.

Everyone is staring at you. What do you play? UHHHHHHHHHH.......... I'm not good with pressure. Knowing me I'd probably play something ironically rather than something that I actually like because all of my friends tend to hate/dislike/not know the stuff I listen to. I'd probably play 'The Humpty Dance' just because I like that song and gets the people goin'. Does the word moist give you the heebie jeebies? It is the worst word ever invented.
Who's your favorite Beatle? Paul. Because he's a little cutie and has a very similar sense of humor as me.
