I received my signed copy of the La La Land Soundtrack today. They were nice enough to sign a separate cover to leave the original package sealed. Now I just need spare time to listen to it.
I received Swans' The Seer in the mail yesterday. I know that it was probably done due to limitations of vinyl, and not purposefully meant as a device, but the fact that you have to constantly switch the records around to hear the album in its intended track order just adds to the dissonance of the album as a whole. I love it.

Not new or hard to find, but I figured I would put it in here anyway since it is the cheapest I have ever seen it. Amazon has the deluxe Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack on sale for less than $13 with prime shipping. Wasn't sure how everyone felt about soundtracks but I for one really enjoy some of these songs. And the second disc is the movie score so thats cool.
La La Land OST (signed by Justin Hurwitz) 808 State - Cubik (12" single, promo copy) 808 State - Timebomb (12" single, promo copy) Michael Jackson - Black or White (limited maxi single, sealed, promo copy!) Carmen Electra - Go Go Dancer (12" single, promo copy... yes, I had to have it. Produced by Prince, for those who weren't aware... these four promo singles were under $10 all together from Manifest here in town)
All these came in from Discogs today:
The Mahavishnsu Orchestra with John McLaughlin - The Inner Mounting Flame Prefab Sprout - Two Wheels Good (US version of Steve McQueen) Merle Haggard and George Jones - A Taste of Yesterday's Wine Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five - The Message (original 12" single, with Sugar Hill sleeve)

I did a quick search to see if anyone was already trying to flip these, now that they should be all in the buyers' hands. Only one I could find was a listing on Discogs, trying to sell it for $850(!!!). I'm satisfied with my purchase, especially since they give you an extra sleeve, but I kind of wish they would have done a Certificate of Authenticity for it.

Thanks!! I've read so many good things about their tables, so I took a dive. I'll update here once it arrives. Definitely thought the needle upgrade was worth it. I almost went for the Blue, but some reviews made me feel the Red was a bit geared towards my listening.

Also, color me jealous of the Black! Badass.
Just to take this opportunity to speak on my turntable philosophy, the way I see it the cartridge is the piece of the analog chain that can most benefit from precision manufacturing. So I'd rather go with the biggest manufacturer of cartridges, the one that makes tons of them a year, rather than the "artisan" cartridge maker hand winding coils somewhere in Brooklyn (sorry Grado). Ortofon is the cartridge maker you see more than any other being included with turntables, ergo they are the big dog that knows what they are doing simply because they do it the most. In addition, since Ortofon does have higher production, I think that translates into pricing, which makes them a good value as well.
Of course, all of the above could be bullshit, but I think it is a reasonable line of thinking. I've owned carts from other companies, MMs from Audio-Technica and Grado, and MIs and MCs from Grado and Denon, respectively, and an Ortofon MM is my favorite.

Glad I went that direction then, for sure! I almost went with Grado based on the handmade in Brooklyn bit. Digging into reviews, they didn't exactly get all cheers. Thanks for the info!!
