Pearl Jam is finally reissuing Yield and No Code on vinyl. Considering both the originals usually went for a couple hundred on eBay, this is very welcomed so I can finally add them to my collection.

Thanks, I'll check them out.
If you go for one of those $400ish new production turntables that come with a cartridge, get one that comes with an Ortofon 2M Red. To me Ortofon is the king of cartridge makers, pretty sure they make more than any other manufacturer and they know what they are doing. After years of messing around with other companies I heard my friends 2M Red on his Pro-Ject Debut and was seriously impressed. Got a great deal on a used 2M Black and put it on my 1200, it's my favorite cart I've owned.
I read that Pitchfork article last night, it does a pretty damn good job of explaining what you need and recommending equipment. Glad they recommended the 1200, if you can get a used one at a decent price it will last you the rest of your life.
Vintage is the best value route, no doubt, but it's difficult, especially for a newcomer to the hobby, to determine if a TT is in good working order. And TT's are notoriously finicky about being shipped, if a seller doesn't know how to package a used TT properly you could end up with a broken TT.
Also keep in mind if you don't purchase a new production table with a cartridge already installed you'll have to install and align the cartridge yourself. A cartridge cantilever is incredibly fragile, so easy to damage during installation if you aren't careful, and if a cart isn't aligned properly you could get distortion or worse damage your records. It takes a lot of patience and fine tuning to get a cartridge setup right.
Vinyl is an enormous pain in the ass, and can be a huge time and money sink. But when the equipment is good, everything is setup correctly, and you have a stack of good quality records, it's totally worth the hassle IMO.
Last night I won a drawing where the prize was the Burn the Witch/Spectre 45! I just checked it out on EBay and can flip it for some serious money. But I'm probably just going to keep it because I'm the type of guy to pay as much as it is going for on EBay for it.
On a different note. When I'm in NYC for GovBall, what record stores do you guys suggest? I'm looking for a place with a cool history and stuff but still a great selection. Unfortunately I've been to some that have a cool history but their selection is underwhelming. Let me know

Check out Other Music while NYC. They are closing their doors at the end of June. And if you wanna get rid of that 7", hit me up!

Haha definitely keeping this one but if terrible things happen and I'm am starving on the streets, I'll hit you up. And yeah I read a P4k article about that one. I just figured it would be very picked over by June
$25 for a Kendrick signed record ain't too shabby..
Nice! Just snagged a copy. Thanks.
Has anyone received their copy of this yet? I believe my original order was supposed to ship May 27th. I'm having a hard time finding tracking info online.

I looked into this yesterday actually; they were supposed to ship on the 27th but the latest word from someone who inquired with them directly is that they'll ship out tomorrow. And then it's supposed to take 7-10 business days to arrive.

Good to know. For a while there I thought my order was just completely lost, or I got scammed, or I would one day have a really fantastic surprise on my doorstep.

I think the signed copies are shipping later than the non-signed. I ordered mine from their site when the details were first released and just logged into my order (through the email they sent) and it says it is still "processing".

I received an email from them today - Kendrick Lamar's signed vinyl will ship later this month.
Wow. I ordered so long ago I forgot all about it until that email
This is maybe the longest process to order something I've ever gone through. Went back and looked at the status of my order: The vinyl says "processing" but the "signed projected jacket" says "cancelled." Anybody else have their order like this?

I got a shipping email yesterday. Mine was shipped by FedEx and should be here Wednesday.

Mine says the same thing
I just checked Kendrick's website and mine says the same even though it has shipped.
If this helps at all... the email I got was yesterday at 1:39 from:

I just checked mine and it says the signed sleeve is cancelled but the vinyl which shipped says "autographed vinyl" so maybe it was two separate items but they just made it one

The next Third Man Vault package is all based around the Live show at TMR that Pearl Jam played when coming into town for Bonnaroo. Pearl Jam fans will be sure to love this package.
On June 9th, 2016, Third Man Records was humbled to welcome Pearl Jam for a performance in our Nashville Blue Room live venue. Kept secret until the absolute last moment, the crowd of only 250 included lucky Ten Club members, mayors, NBA superstars, country music royalty, and possibly even a few stowaways. To call it a "warm-up” for their headlining set at Bonnaroo two nights later would be to vastly undervalue the evening. The band tore through a clutch collection of songs that spanned both deep cuts and fan favorites. A classic like “Deep” from Ten sits comfortably next to “Life Wasted” from their self-titled album Pearl Jam, and set-closer “Let Me Sleep” was originally recorded in 1990 (and was the band’s first-ever Ten Club release). The highlight of the performance came when Pearl Jam invited Jack White and his guitar to the stage to join on a song that clocked in at over seven minutes and featured wild dueling solos between White and Mike McCready, this epic performance left every mouth in the audience agape and every face on stage all smiles. Those seven minutes were truly some of the most memorable and historic in seven years since the Blue Room opened its doors.
All this said, it should come as no surprise that this performance is the centerpiece of Third Man’s 29th Vault package: a black-and-gold, split-colored vinyl version of Pearl Jam’s set, recorded live direct-to-acetate and packaged in a stunning custom jacket, all soft touch coating and gilded gold metallic ink. While split-colors are normally only made available to attendees of the show, the opportunity to share this once-in-a-lifetime performance with the wide-reaching TMR and PJ world’s was too good to pass up
The following afternoon Eddie Vedder entered Third Man Records’ Voice-o-Graph recording booth and performed an arresting, solo acoustic song. Housed in a custom TMR Record Booth sleeve and pressed on clear transparent vinyl (just like the original) this disc captures a poignant moment for Vedder, and marks the event of yet another musical legend making exceptional use of the Third Man Recording Booth.
Third Man’s accomplished in-house photographer Jamie Goodsell documented the entirety of the evening’s events on his trusty SLR camera. These images have been compiled into a timeless photo book. This embossed, fabric-wrapped, 9” x 6” hardcover photo collection gives the viewer the ability to look behind the curtain, both into Pearl Jam and Third Man's worlds on a special night for both parties.
Rounding out Vault Package #29 are a 1” round metal lapel pin utilizing the custom Pearl Jam/Third Man mashup logo (printed onto silk-screened posters and complimentary beer koozies used that fateful night) in addition to a 3” circular patch of the same design, featuring gold thread and just begging to be sewn onto your motorcycle leather, denim vest, varsity jacket, backpack, wedding gown, pillowcase, coffin lining, underwear, etc, etc...
ALL of these items will ONLY be available as part of Third Man’s Platinum Vault Subscription service. For this Vault Package #29 ONLY, all members of Pearl Jam’s Ten Club will receive a SINGLE-USE coupon code entitling them to $15 off the cost of the package. Ten Club members active as of 6/30/16 have been sent their unique code as well as instructions to subscribe. Platinum Vault Subscriptions using this Ten Club coupon code WILL NOT RENEW for the next Vault cycle.
Subscribe early, subscribe often — Just make sure you subscribe by July 31st, the official deadline. It is our hope that Ten Club members will enjoy the experience of the Third Man Vault and Third Man Vault members will be incentivized to further explore Pearl Jam’s incredibly rewarding fan club.
Non-Ten Club members can sign up for a Platinum Vault Subscription through the usual process here.
