Am I able to buy it without subscribing?
I think you can subscribe monthly and cancel immediately after the album ships to avoid future albums. It might be a little higher than doing a 3-month plan, though. I can't think of any other way....

I also think they have a one-month subscription (so basically like buying). I feel like when I signed up it was 1-month, 3-months, or something more (not sure yearly or 6-months).
Also, if you sign up for at least 3-months you can "swap" one month for a past release.

I believe it was something like $28 for 1 month, $25 for 3 months and $23 for a year (3 months get 1 swap, 1 year gets 3 swaps). It's all in the initial signup details, but I felt the 3 months was a decent enough deal.

VMP is $284 for 12 months, $75 for 3 months, and $27/monthly. I do the annual subscription and I'm a huge fan of their customer service. Their curated store is usually decent too.

it's still available in the store, but i believe you have to be a vmp member to purchase things from the online store. again, if anyone wants to sign up, pm me (or contact another vmp member) for a referral code to save $10.

Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 (DOUBLE LP)
JACK WHITE ACOUSTIC RECORDINGS 1998-2016 collects 26 acoustic songs from throughout White’s wide-ranging musical career, spanning album tracks, B-sides, remixes, alternate versions, and previously unreleased tracks. The album, arranged in chronological order, includes acoustic songs made famous by The White Stripes, beginning with “Sugar Never Tasted So Good” (originally found on The White Stripes’ second-ever 7-inch single) and then lighting upon favorites like “Apple Blossom” and “I’m Bound To Pack It Up” (remixed here from the original recordings on 2000’s DE STIJL), “Hotel Yorba” and “We’re Going To Be Friends” (from 2001’s WHITE BLOOD CELLS), “You’ve Got Her In Your Pocket” and “YES!Well It’s True That We Love One Another” (from 2003’s GRAMMY® Award-winning ELEPHANT), “Forever For Her (Is Over For Me),” “White Moon” and “As Ugly As I Seem” (from 2005’s GET BEHIND ME SATAN) “Effect & Cause” (from 2007’s ICKY THUMP), and the Beck-produced “Honey, We Can’t Afford To Look This Cheap,” first found on the B-side to The White Stripes’ final single, 2007’s “Conquest.”
“City Lights” (below) was written for The White Stripes’ GET BEHIND ME SATAN but then forgotten until White revisited the 2005 album for Third Man’s Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue and finished the recording in 2016. The track is the first new, worldwide commercially released White Stripes song since 2008.
Also featured are “Never Far Away” (recorded for 2003’s COLD MOUNTAIN: MUSIC FROM THE MIRAMAX MOTION PICTURE) and “Love Is The Truth” (written and recorded for Coca-Cola’s 2006 What Goes Around campaign) as well as the Bluegrass Version of “Top Yourself” and an acoustic mix of the epic murder ballad, “Carolina Drama,” both written by White and Brendan Benson for The Raconteurs’ GRAMMY® Award-winning 2008 album, CONSOLERS OF THE LONELY. White’s two chart-topping solo albums, 2012’s BLUNDERBUSS and 2014’s LAZARETTO, are represented by a remarkably diverse range of material including “Love Interruption,” “On And On And On,” “Blunderbuss,” “Entitlement,” “Want And Able,” and alternative mixes of “Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy,” “Just One Drink,” “I Guess I Should Go To Sleep,” and B-side, “Machine Gun Silhouette.”
“This, like (Son House’s) ‘Grinnin’ In Your Face,’ is mirror-music,” writes renowned music journalist Greil Marcus of “City Lights” in the album’s exclusive liner notes, “the singer talking to himself, trying to tell himself the truth, which he’s going to need if he’s going to step out of his door, walk into the world, and fool himself, for just a second, that he’s ready to take it on. As you listen, it’s no surprise at all that it took most of White’s music-making life to bring the song home.”
The 26 tracks featured on JACK WHITE ACOUSTIC RECORDINGS 1998-2016 were remastered by Andrew Mendelson at Nashville, TN’s Georgetown Masters. All songs were written and produced exclusively by Jack White, except “Never Far Away” (produced by T Bone Burnett), “Honey, We Can’t Afford To Look This Cheap” (produced by Beck), “Top Yourself (Bluegrass Version)” and “Carolina Drama” (written & produced by White & Brendan Benson), and “Machine Gun Silhouette” (written by White & Rob Jones). The complete track listing is below.

I just picked up a sealed My Morning Jacket Okonokos at my local shop... Did they do a reissue of this, because I have been looking for this for a while and then all of a sudden I see it sitting there at the shop I go to all the time

Yea, a recent reissue. Very welcome. I'm thinking about getting another copy even though I already have one.
any body got any idea when to expect a moon shaped pool box set it said it will ship in september I haven't got any tracking info or anything just wondering if anyone has got anything
forgot to report on this grail pickup of mine from a couple weeks ago. went to Mobile Records on my birthday and they had this on the top shelf, an original pressing of Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures". Literally Factus 1. Holy shit.
Is it a somewhat pointless buy because the reissues sound just fine? Yes. But it's literally from the first production run of the first product released by Factory Records. The vinyl itself is NM and sounds outstanding.
EDIT: as an aside I was talking to the shop owner after I bought it. Decades ago he had a record shop in Australia, and he said he sold about 50 of these a week, mostly to school teachers.

Just got the email about October's VMP being Beck's Odeley! I'm so happy about that. I was really hoping to get something I wouldn't like so I could swap for the Fugees but alas. I'm super happy about this.

So cool. I saw the tease they gave and based on that some people were guessing Beck. I'm so happy for this to be the choice. Between this and the last two I'm more than likely to be signing up for another 3-month run of these.
I just listened to Glass Animals LP while cleaning and doing stuff over the weekend and it was fantastic. The next one being Beck is even better.
Also, for any comedy junkies:

Odelay is one of the few albums that would get me to consider VMP. Time to crunch some numbers.
Beck just posted on his social media - his entire catalog is getting re-issued - VINYL
Pre-orders are up for Odelay, Sea Change, and Guero now. The other releases following -
edit - release date for those 3 albums - October 28th
Everything? I'm so pumped. I would always look at The Information or other Beck albums that I couldn't afford on vinyl. Glad to hear this is happening.

edit - I'd dig a Nicotine and Gravy tomorrow night. Probably won't happen, we might get Sex Laws. If he ever performed Cellphone's Dead - you'd see me dance jungle/tribal.
None of the reissue preorders are up on Amazon yet
Yea, they link to amazon but I didn't see them as options. I did see Guero had 1 in stock but not sure if that was a rare one or a mistake or anything.
