Thanks for this. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get a virtual reality box set thing or if that was just limited by pre-order. Definitely going to be getting this.

Y'all have fun with your virtual reality records, whatever that means. I'll be over here with my Bob's Burgers deluxe edition vinyl box set.
Now comes The Bob’s Burgers Music Album, featuring 107 songs from the first 107 episodes (all six existing seasons), plus five special cover versions of songs from the show. Originally broadcast within the episodes – and often in abbreviated form – these songs appear here in their freestanding glory for the first time. The Bob’s Burgers Music Album – in both its affordable standard editions and its impressive deluxe edition – is sure to be a top gift item this holiday season.
The album features the main cast members – Bob (Jon Benjamin) and Linda (John Roberts) and their children Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal) – singing original songs that build on the show’s unique sense of humor. Also featured are many of the show’s recurring and special guests, from comedians like Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Kline, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Zack Galifianakis, and Fred Armisen, to musical guests Cyndi Lauper and Carly Simon.
Includes five never-aired “Bob’s Buskers” cover versions of songs from the show performed by St. Vincent, the National, Lapsley, and Stephin Merritt of Magnetic Fields.
Three standard versions: 2xCD set, 3xLP+7”, and digital.
Deluxe limited-edition 3 LP+7” box set includes “condiment-colored” vinyl (ketchup red, mustard yellow & relish green), plus a hardbound lyrics book with exclusive Bob’s Burgers artwork, a soft cover sheet-music songbook, three original posters, a six-piece sticker pack, and a patch. Both the standard and deluxe LP editions include the five “Bob’s Buskers” tracks on a white 7” single.

Why do I come to this thread? It makes me wantt to spend money.
Right? I wanted a record player so that I could play with all the old records my parents owned. All I heard when I was shopping around for one was how this hobby will bankrupt you. I laughed it off... like a damn fool.
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing (recent Mo Wax reissue) Dillard & Clark - The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard and Clark (recent Sundazed reissue) Can - Ege Bamyasi (recent Spoon reissue) King Crimson - Red (200 g reissue) Skinny Puppy - Last Rights (original Capital promo, with WBFH call letters written on center label and hype sticker, a high school radio station... why it wasn't an arm and a leg, but this is the most rare version and probably the most rare vinyl in my collection!)

Just bought this bad boy to upgrade my system a bit...
Orbit Custom - Green Acrylic Platter Ortofon 2M Red
STOKED.
looks great, congrats on the purchase! i haven't heard that table but i'm a big fan of ortofon cartridges, i run a 2M Black myself and doubt I'll ever purchase a different cartridge, it's perfect to my ears. my friend runs the 2m red and it's great. let us know how you like the table once you've had a listen.
Received the turntable on Friday and had a chance to listen over the weekend—I absolutely love it. Quick setup out of the box, great aesthetic look and I couldn't be happier with the audio. This was a big upgrade for my system at a fraction of what I was considering spending. If you're looking at the Orbit, I couldn't recommend the Ortofon cartridge enough. It produces a clear, deep sound that is lightyears ahead of my Audio-Technica table/cartridge.
Pantha Du Prince (Hendrik Weber) has been working with longtime engineer Kassian to create an ambient version of last year’s triumphant studio return, ‘The Triad’. This reworking showcases the otherworldly and moody delicacy that makes Weber’s music so absorbing and affecting; with the beats and most vocals removed, his dreamy sonic details come to the fore.
LP is limited to one pressing only, and will be accompanied by a digital download that includes extra vocal versions of some of the album tracks.
1 The Winter Hymn (Ambient Version) 2 You What? Euphoria! (Ambient Version) 3 Frau Im Mond, Sterne Laufen (Ambient Version) 4 In An Open Space (Ambient Version Instrumental) 5 Dream Yourself Awake (Ambient Version Instrumental) 6 Lichterschmaus (Ambient Version) 7 Lions Love (Ambient Version) 8 Islands In The Sky (Ambient Version Instrumental) 9 Wallflowers for Pale Saints (Ambient Version)
Download bonus tracks: 10 The Winter Hymn (Ambient Version Instrumental) 11 In An Open Space (Ambient Version Vocal) 12 Dream Yourself Awake (Ambient Version Vocal) 13 Islands In The Sky (Ambient Version Vocal)
Cold War Kids have a pre-order of their new album LA Devine and they are offering signed vinyl for only $20. Love these guys so I was pretty excited to see it www.coldwarkids.com

Thanks - I am looking forward to this one. I love the new single and was a big fan of their first album ("Robbers & Cowards").
If you don't have Lotus - Nomad for your table, your table, sound system, and ears are suffering. One of the best presses I've bought in the last 5 years. I even had a neighbor knock to say "thanks"

Biggie Smalls - Life After Death on sale for $39.89 on Barnes & Noble's site. 15% off coupon code: 9DAWJ1Z88Z134 brings it down to $35.95 after tax with free shipping. I could be very wrong, but I am pretty sure this is the 3xLP Clear pressing from 2014. Seems like a really good deal if thats the case. They are selling at the lowest on Discogs for $70.
Let's see, what have I picked up since my last post here...

OK questions for y'all. I want to start building out my big boy stereo set up. I have a turntable and a pre-amp already. Looking to get a better receiver and better speakers. Would love any input on good stuff to buy. I'd welcome recommendations at any price level but obviously the more affordable the better.
Basically I want to have a nice home audio set up that includes my TV, my turntable, and a Sonos attachment. My plan is to go for the gusto in the living room then fill out the rest of the house with Sonos. What's a good receiver that can handle a TV, turntable and the Sonos amp?
Or should I avoid Sonos all together and opt for a different wireless service like Yamaha MusicCast?
Is it foolish to try and run the TV and the turntable through the same receiver?
Are there any good blogs I can read for more information instead of bugging you folks?

What kind of pre-amp? Do you mean a phono pre or a full featured preamp with multiple inputs etc.?

Almost any mass market receiver with HDMI would work great for this. I like Denon and Yamaha receivers, I can offer you more model specific suggestions once we establish your needs.

Sonos is cool, but it's amazing what you can accomplish with a $30 chromecast. You can't stream your computer files using Chromecast, but I think just about any streaming service works with it. Maybe not Apple Music. I use Google Play music, which allows me to upload my own music for items not available on the streaming service (i.e. Phish shows) and then I can cast that to Chromecast.
Is it foolish to try and run the TV and the turntable through the same receiver?
Nah, totally reasonable to do so.
Are there any good blogs I can read for more information instead of bugging you folks?
95% of audio reviewers are completely full of shit. With the caveat that every online audio community has it's collection of insane audiophiles who believe $1,000 RCA cables can improve the sound of audio, generally the most reasonable communities I've found are www.avsforum.com and www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/. The best reviewers are Tyll Hertsens at www.innerfidelity.com (thats mostly headphones though) and www.noaudiophile.com (totally objective and his reviews are hilarious).
Why am I even doing this?
Because music is important to you, and you want the best audio reproduction setup possible that enables you to more strongly connect emotionally with the music.

Does anything we do even matter?
To the people you love and who love you, yes.
Thanks man! I appreciate the help. I will definitely peruse the blogs tonight after work.
Good call on pre-amp. I have a phono pre-amp, specifically the ART DJPRE 2. My turntable is a 80s Technics table that I really like a lot. I forget the model number off the top of my head but it works great.
As far as streaming goes right now I really only use Spotify. I don't really keep any local files anymore except for the occasional purchased Thee Oh Sees album or, like you, Phish shows. So I'd definitely say that would be a good feature to have. I've used Amazon Music in the past but I let my account lapse because I wasn't impressed with it.
I'm mainly interested in having a good quality setup in my living room and speakers for streaming throughout the house. Don't care about trying to hear the turntable or TV in other rooms. I just want to be able to turn on a playlist while I do chores or have a party and get it playing in every room.
Yamaha or Denon receivers actually sound fantastic because I could buy one of those with Marriott points haha.
What other info am I missing to narrow down my needs?
