I decided to do this because thr othet day I went to a record store and couldn't remember which Black Sabbath album i have. So this is a neat way to keep track of that.
I've had a record player for a couple years but I'm only able to byy sporadically and not much at all in the last year. I don't spend more than $15 per record. So this random collection came from stuff on Amazon and a local record store that I've found in that price range and a few of the deals from popmarket.

That's one of the main reasons I started mine up also. Going to a record store and not really looking for something particular led me to mixing up which old and new albums I owned from some artists. Definitely a big help.
A new record store just opened up in neighboring redneck-ville Lexington... and it's 90% hip hop. Tonight after work I picked up:
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die (original gatefold) Purple Ribbon All Stars - Kryptonite 12" Lady Gaga - Just Dance 12" + remixes (hey, it was a dollar and came with a duplicate vinyl I could sell for a couple of bucks)
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps Van Morrison - Too Late To Stop Now The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man Prince - Let's Pretend We're Married/Irresistible Bitch 12" Genesis - Foxtrot R.E.M. - Lifes Rich Pageant (just found out this is the seemingly rare Ludwig cut with "RL" etched on the matrix of side a, unless I'm mistaken... anyone know anything about this?) Dead Can Dance - Spleen and Ideal
I have bought a few records over the years which sit all nice in a pile. Still in their plastic and everything. I have finally decided to get a turntable! I have spent most of this morning trying to decide what to get by searching on Inforoo and Google. Most sites do suggest Audio-Technica although I thought I remembered people saying on here that they don't recommend them as much? I couldn't find posts to back that up, so maybe I am making that up. I hate asking repeat questions and I know this kind of question has been asked a million times, but I really need to get back to work.
Me: Beginner at vinyl (obviously). I do want it to be a bit of an investment. Not looking for something that needs to be replaced in two years. Definitely don't want anything known to ruin records. I am honestly not a craaazy audiophile, so some of the reviews of things talking about controlling vibrations and such is probably way too much for me at this point.
Which brings me to the specific situation at hand. I want to ask for one for Christmas. To be blunt, a cheaper one ($100 or less) would probably fit right in with what I have already asked for (and I know has already been purchased). So I could just ask for it and move on. To get one more than that, it would take some finagling (example, have it combined as a Christmas/early birthday combo present), but probably could be done as well. So I am debating between asking for the AT LP60 or 120. Is the 60 good enough that I shouldn't jump through hoops to make the 120 happen? Of course, if you have another TT that you recommend, I'll definitely listen!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The LP 60 will probably do the job for you. You can upgrade the cartridge on it if you want to squeeze out a little better sound quality down the road.
Copped it this morning. Can’t wait. Oddly enough I downloaded Endless last night and listened to it for the first time. Higgs is my favorite track thus far

Amazon had a B1G1 free but it may have already ended.
Bullmoose still has some RSD albums up. Free shipping over $30.
Target has 15% off.
How does the amazon thing work if it’s still going on
I think it ended yesterday. It was only for vinyl sold directly by Amazon. The discount was applied when records were added to your cart. I just tried it and it showed as full price.

That sucks! This reddit always shows great deals, too:

Death From Above - Freeze Me/Keep It Real Dumb 7" (RSD) At The Drive In - Diamante 10" (RSD) Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats (brand new pressing)
being held for me until this weekend:
Bill Hicks - Revelations (RSD) Prince - Lovesexy Van Der Graaf Generator - Godbluff (I NEVER run across the VDG records) Jackson Browne - Saturate Before Using and a Merle Haggard and The Strangers album, but the title escapes me... it's one of the 70s ones.
