It's festival season again, which means it's time for King B and Moe Train to make the trek from Philadelphia to Manchester, TN to the world's biggest music festival... Bonnaroo! This year's lineup is star-studded from top to bottom, and the Tracks will be there to bring it all to you! Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, Wilco, Girl Talk... The list goes on and on. What an overwhelmingly great lineup this year for the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. In this Bonnaroo 2009 Preview Show, B and the Train discuss all aspects of the lineup, and on ground activities for this year's Roo.
They revisit some past experiences as well as gaze into the looking glass for possible collaborations and other assorted Roo madness. Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
Great show, Moe - keep 'em coming! It sucked to hear the part about you and King B getting all your gear stolen in '07 though
I do have one complaint/suggestion though, which is that you skipped over everyone playing between Rodrigo y Gabriela and Bruce Springsteen on Saturday. I would have liked to hear your takes on Wilco / Elvis Costello / The Mars Volta / of Montreal / etc.
Yeah... Blame it on the Courvoisier! I realized that we missed a few things, but by that point, we were already out of the studio! The segment with B getting his/our stuff stolen at Roo 07 SUCKED, but it did happen to capture the moment pretty well!
Wilco - I'm not a Wilco fan at all Jeff Tweedy's a talent, but I'm not into em.
Elvis Costello - This will be an interesting set, with a guest appearance or two (I'm thinking). Not too big of a fan either.
The Mars Volta - TMV was one act I wish I didn't flake on. Everyone's been waiting for them to blow the roof off of Roo, and this year's the year. I actually like At The Drive-In more than TMV, but TMV's music fits Roo's vibe much better than the former. I'll be there rockin it out during their set.
of Montreal - AMAZING set at Rothbury. Absolutely amazing. It was the first time that we had seen them live, and it couldn't have been better. Very theatrical, with kids onstage dressed in Mortal Kombat costumes. They also threw naked baby dolls into the crowd. We were a bit buzzed when we saw them, but there were many WTF moments during their set. Another must see act.
