What I posted a few weeks ago was all I knew at the time (KOL, Stevie, JayZ, DMB, Tenacious D) - I obviously know a lot more since then, but I've stayed away for a long time because despite the fact that I'm an 'insider' I'm really just a freak at heart dying to share with you all ............. but at this point you can wait a few more hours till tomorrow, no???

Something to think about...
Does anyone think it is possible Superfly is trying to test the waters with atracting a "newer" audience by having names like Jay Z and KOL in prominent spots, in order to show that roo is not jam band only. I know while many are unhappy with lack of jam-orientated bands (i for one), but really a substantyial core of their audience will indeed be on the farm as no where else to you get the overall vibe, epic time slots and LATE NIGHTS!!!! I really do think adds like Waters, Young, Further, SCI and the such will come once they have assesed the number of tickets the initial lineup has sold. I would do this (even though slightly dickish), cuz roo does and has appealed to younger/indie audiances for years, no that they have a faithful jam following why not try and bring younger/different crowd to a fest that for the past 4 years has always given them ample. but not really been known for it. I think the more indie/hipsters you get on the farm and they happen to catch one moe latenight, extended Phish set ect... the better the world is.

its funny most people dont realize this festival hasnt really been heavily jam influenced since 05, and the "jam band faithful" have mostly moved onto smaller festivals that cater to their tastes better

I just question why there are atleast ten or so bands that have been either confirmed (JBT, Fanfarlo, etc. ) or quasi-confirmed (i.e Noah and the Whale) that were not on the initial lineup. Is it atleast possible that the promoters have some type of Phase Two countdown scheme up their sleeves....? Hopefully culminated by a few under adds (Arcade Fire, MMJ, etc.) and one big pop?

Friday What: Flaming Lips (latenight, Phish spot last year moved back an hour), Kings of Leon (Beasties spot moved back a little later), Tenacious D (before KoL)
Which: Marley and Nas (Byrne spot moved back a little later), Franti and Spearhead (before Marley and Nas)
Saturday What: Jay-Z/Stevie Wonder (split headliners like 08)
Which: Weezer (against Stevie) and a latenight show TBA (maybe Soundgarden)
Sunday What: Dave Matthews Band, John Fogerty, Zac Brown Band
Which: Artist TBA (maybe Arcade Fire), Phoenix (Andrew Bird spot)
on a side note...
as much as i love my morning jacket, i hope they save them for next year, where they take the friday headlining spot...although, mmj would be the selling point for a lot of people this year including myself
While I also doubt it, I think we could maybe get one single addition the caliber/draw of Arcade Fire/Soundgarden (crossin' my fingers fer the latter!).
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
"Well we told you the tour was to be announced in April and we have just had official confirmation from Roger's Manager that the tour will be announced from 2pm EST Monday April 12th"
I guess Monday we will offically find out if Waters is on the Bill.
Not saying its happening at all but my hopes are way up hahah

I read on a website (sorry don't recall which one, but I found it easily via google) that rehearsals for the tour wouldn't start until August, with the tour starting in the fall and running through early 2011. So I don't think the band would be together in time for a bonnaroo show if that's how it's going.
2010: 3/12: The Bad Plus/Happy Apple/Buffalo Collision/The Bad Apple 6/10-13: Bonnaroo 6/19: Rock the Garden 7/30-31: Mid West Music Fest 8/21: Los Hombres Calientes 8/31: Marijuana Death Squads 9/11: The Book of Right On w/ City on the Make 9/23: Of Montreal w/ Janelle Monae 10/4: Broken Social Scene 11/23: Grinderman
Please don't let it be Kings of Leon. I know Bonnaroo likes diversity, but there is no reason to open up the boy band genre.
Disclaimer: I know KoL has been to Roo numerous times in the past and that they used to be an incredible rockin' band, but they just aren't good anymore. The thought of them makes me nauseous these days.
