Sonic Youth isn't a band for the faint of heart. With the release of The Eternal, it marks thier 15th record in 16 years. Not to mention numerous compilation,Sonic Youth Records,and flat out guest apperances. They have been a little busy over the years.

Hm. This is a hard one...I love Sonic Youth, definitely in my top 5 favorite bands. Which ones I would recommend to starters are going to be different that the ones that I love personally...maybe just the order.
If you are starting out I would recommend: 1. Daydream Nation 2. Goo 3. Washing Machine
