Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Last year I started a thread asking all of you for some Good New music and you filled my ears with some amazing things. I once again put out there the request for Roo worthy music that is something that we may have not heard of or will be hearing soon.
From last years under the radar suggestion that still is being played in the car rides is Black Mountain. If you have not heard of them check it out.
Not so new and not so old, check out One Drop out of orlando, florida.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

You probably have heard of all of these bands, but the ones I discovered recently were Toubab Krewe, Elvis Perkins, and Lotus.
You should check out a band called Project. They are a three piece (beat-boxing flute, cello, and upright bass). They are insane. Search them on youtube (you probably have to type "beat-boxing flute" and they should pop up)
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
Dirtfoot!! Not sure if you would call them "new" since they have been hitting up the festie scene for several years now but I expect them to be playing Roo soon. They already play Wakarusa and Mulberry Mountain...they were @ VoodooFest last year too and hopefully will make ACL this year. It is just a matter of time before they will be a Thursday night Roo band.
They are from my hometown & all super amazing musicians (as well as great people in general) so go check them out!
Sadly, I missed their last show because I was throwing an engagement party and now I have to wait until September to see them again.
This stuff... i just discovered them days ago and they are wonderful, not much electronic stuff catches my ear but these guys definitely do it for me. Although, they sounds really similiar to STS9 to me, but they're on 1320 records too. Good stuff.
PS - inforoo kinda fades out after bonnaroo, doesn't it...

Screaming Females... They opened up for the Dead Weather on their recent tour and blew me away. The singer/guitarist is this chick who is ridiculously awesome

Yeah I saw them as well and she was great but the other two guys in the band were nothing special at all. The drummer was really bad in fact. I think that she'll do really well if she surrounds herself with better musicians.

I think they are really solid, and for what they are doing, I think the bassist and drummer fit perfectly, but i see what your saying

they're not new, but i just found out about The Dismemberment Plan, and they are really good. also a new band called Starfucker, altough they are changing their name soon
Not sure how old or new, but Blue Fondation (check out "enemy" or "bonfires") is pretty sweet. Also Nicole Atkins (maybe tonight), but she's been around for a while. Can you guys include the name of the songs that got you into the particular artist(s) you're listing?
Just picked this record up after hereining some good things and was not disapointed....good laid back folk rock, lead singers reminds me of Richard Manuel....and they have some really good harmonies

in a totally unrelated post, and totally without any new music to offer except for the Stephen Lynch album I've been listening to for 3 months.....................I MISS YOU DUDE!!!!!
www.myspace.com/soundsfromatlantis - A local band from Philly, they've got a great sound, and are very talented. Check out "Water Bearer" and "The Purge" on this page for two great jams.
www.myspace.com/penguinband - Penguin, from Murfreesboro TN is also an awesome band. My cousin used to live there and got me into them, definitely worth a listen. I love all the songs on their page, and the CD on iTunes is worth the buy.
www.myspace.com/mewithoutyou - Finally another band from Philly, I actually just heard them on the radio the other day, and have been jammin to their myspace page all day today. Definitely worth a listen.
Lemme know what you think, and if anyone else has some good music, I'd love to hear it!
Just back from opening a few shows for Dirty Projectors. Who would have thought a band from Lafayette, Louisiana would get the chance to do that? All of us here at home are really happy to support this group of ambitious, talented musicians.
