i keep trying to come up with a list. but every time i attempt it my brain explode. it's overwhelming for me. no way i can limit it to 10.
Took me over 4 hours to get it down to 10, but I didn't have anything to do and it was a good excuse to sit around and listen to music.
well i started a few months ago. i was going to listen to every cd i bought this decade. i got like 8 cd's in and for some reason just stopped and never picked it up again. but i imagine listening to them all would make it even harder.

Post as many in your list as you want though guys, I'll just put point totals to the top ten but I always love reading these lists to find things I missed from 2000-2007 when I was a terrible music fan.

Seriously, these end of the year/decade lists are killing my ratio on What.

Well if you want a full list, then I have a preliminary list that I've worked on for a voting thread on another site that I think is going to be 100, but as of right now I only have 96. So that's why I have a weird number. It's rather boring, but I think when you get down to the best 100 of a decade every deserving album is probably recognized as being great. Anyway here's my list:

Spoon | Kill The Moonlight 10. Elliot Smith | Figure 8 11. Madvillain | Madvilliany 12. Kanye West | College Dropout 13. Portishead | Third 14. Elliot Smith | From A Basement On A Hill 15. BSS's S/T is amazing. I've heard people complaign about the cluster-f and sloppiness that both the music and the production is, but those are two things I love about it. It's All Gonna Break is the clear number one BSS song to me.
Cold Roses is just wonderful. I hope I'm not taking anything away from Heartbreak by putting Cold Roses above it, but to me Cold Roses was Adams finally hitting his peak. It was my first Adams record, and there's a personal attachment with the songs too I guess. Plus I've listened to Cold Roses more than Heartbreaker, not that play counts has anything to do with it. Heartbreaker is absolutely amazing though. The thing with both Ryan Adams and BSS was I went into their discography without a whole bunch of knowledge about what albums were considered greats, so for the most part I got to form my opinion free of hype. But generally in the end the hype or the critical consensus is pretty close to right, so that's why in the end my list is kinda boring. Making this list was awesome because it seems like lately I've become a little more judgemental about music and artists based on surrounding hype before the release, and most of these records I bought or borrowed of the internet without really an idea of what I was supposed to think of them. I could probably go into that more, but I would probably be boring everyone else and myself. I might do comments on some of my albums later idk. I hope this wasn't too much to read if you read it all

Oh yea I love both of those records, it's just sometimes you get a list in your head and one album goes over another always, and when you see it switched it catches you off guard.

So I just started compiling these things. Do you guys still want the list? I was kind of expecting more people to participate. Is there another thread where other people put lists I could find?
