too hard...
The Flaming Lips 2010 My Morning Jacket 2008 Stevie Wonder 2010 David Byrne 2009 Phish (Sunday) 2009 Pearl Jam 2008 Bon Iver 2009 Robert Plant & Allison Krauss 2008 Band of Horses 2009 Disco Biscuits 2010
what an ass for dancing and enjoying himself. i only watched a minute and half of it because the band sucks. but come on guys.
It's more of what he was saying and doing. He was messing with people around him, touching peoples stuff, making dumb/awkward remarks. At one point a girl made a comment about getting sprayed down with a hose to cool down, he then said "I'd like to spray her with a hose" loud enough for her to hear. I don't know, you had to be there.

oh ok. that makes sense. i just couldn't see what he was doing wrong from watching the video.
I remember, last year at Volta there was this tall ass kid in front of me. We were to the right of the soundboard, nice spots, pretty much everyone was chill and there to have get their face-melt on. Well, everyone aside from tripping Gigantor... this kid was literally screaming the lyrics (incorrectly), jumping up and down, and when there was a dynamic shift he'd turn around and yell something unintelligible to me, ear to ear grin on his face. A small part of me was happy the kid was having such a blast, while most of me was aggravated. Kid was tripping hard and he was being a careless ass, it almost hurt the show for me. However I didn't and don't let it get in the way of the memory of seeing one of my favorite bands at Roo.
Having fun is great, but some people just don't know how to control themselves.

My Top 10 in some semblance of order (until Frank comes in to tell me there’s no way I was at all these shows)
10. The Secret Machines- Late Night 2005 (Other) 09. The White Stripes- 2007 (Which) 08. The Flaming Lips- Late Night UFOs Over Bonnaroo 2007 (Which) 07. Radiohead- 2006 (What) 06. Primus- Late Night 2004 (Which) 05. Tool- 2007 (What) 04. My Morning Jacket- Late Night 2008 (Which) 03. My Morning Jacket- “Return to Thunderdome” 2004 (Which) 02. The Mars Volta- Late Night 2005 (That) 01. My Morning Jacket- Late Night 2006 (That)
The night time is the right time for mind-blowing sets at the Roo. Return to Thunderdome ’04 was my first MMJ show (of 17 and counting) and was amazing with the crazy storm moving in, but the ’06 show with Andrew Bird and previous members of MMJ sitting in was my biggest highlight (since I was fanatical by that time.) It was an agonizing 3 hour wait near the barricade for that show, but SO worth it.
I would be remiss not to mention: Ween Late Night '04, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters '05, Iron and Wine '05, Dungen '06, Superjam Late Night '07 (Ben Harper, ?uestlove, JOHN PAUL JONES), The White Stripes '07, Zappa Plays Zappa '08, The Mars Volta '09, Yeasayer Late Night '09, Daryl Hall and Chromeo Late Night '10....hell....this could go on all day. Hahaha.
I preface this by saying I really wish I could have been at previous Bonnaroos, especially 06 for Radiohead & 07 for the White Stripes, but these are my top ten from attending 08,09, and 10.
1. Flaming Lips '10 2. Sigur Ros '08 3. Stevie Wonder '10 4. MGMT '09 5. The Decemberists '09 6. Phish '09 7. Tenacious D '10 8. Raconteurs '08 9. Chairlift '09 10. MMJ '08 (This concert was the first time i'd ever heard them and I'm sure that if i had already known their music it would be much closer to the top)
Taken from my OP in a now irrelevant duplicate thread:
1. Nine Inch Nails 2. Radiohead 3. Tortoise, 07 4. Robert Plant & Allison Krauss w/ T Bone Burnett 5. Ornette Coleman 6. Jimmy Cliff 7. Jeff Beck 8. The Mars Volta, 09 9. Levon Helm and The Ramble On The Road 10. Beck 11. Public Enemy 12. DJ Shadow 13. Jay Z 14. Tool 15. Erykah Badu 16. Dungen 17. Sigur Ros 18. Daryl Hall & Chromeo 19. Neon Indian 20. Gov't Mule, 09 21. The Roots, 07 22. David Byrne, 09 23. Tom Petty 24. Al Green 25. Local Natives
More than honorable mentions: MMJ 08 and Mule 07 would be up there, but I only caught part of the sets. Also, MGMT in 08, Mastodon in 08, Junior Brown in 07, and MURS in 09.
Wow, I somehow forgot Metallica.... Bump Local Natives down to an honoable mention, inser Tallica at #13, bump everyone Jay Z under down a spot.

Was there in '06 and '08-'10
1. Phish (sunday) '09 2. MMJ '08 3. Radiohead '06 4. Oysterhead '06 5. Super Jam '06 (Trey and Friends) 6. Umphrey's and Disco Biscuits '06 (best back to back show i have seen) 7. Les Claypool (any year) 8. Jay Z '10 9. MGMT '08 > MGMT '09 10. The Raconteurs '08
My list seems so be heavy with 2006 but it might be unfair since it was my first year and I was in a constant state of amazement.
