Also tЯist♡n I drafted Joker in my fantasy league, so don't mistake me rooting for him as rooting for the Nuuuuuuuuugs, but I hope he does very well. 2nd place MVP or bust.

I don't think that's the politically correct word to call us.
You drafted Joker cause you know he's the greatest player of all time.
We looked good as shit in the first half. I have literally no idea what to expect from the pelicans this season. Randle, Mirotic, Davis is going to be a nightmare defensive matchup. But overall, it looks like we don’t have a margin for injuries and we’ve got to be hitting shots.
I moved to Orlando directly after the climax of the Dwight years. So I've basically been enjoying a rebuild for the entirety of my magic fandom
Rebuilding can be fun when you have some hope. From an outsiders view that only really hears about the Magic through memes, is your front office as terrible as it seems like it is?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first few years of the rebuild. It felt like we were doingg it right. We won the Dwight trade which landed us picks and Vucevich. We tanked and drafted oladipo then aaron gordan. We traded an expiring JJ Redick for Tobias Harris. Our gm just fucking found him. We traded Aaron Afflalo for Evan Fournier. Watching all of those guys grow was fun. We even had a positive but terrible coach to smile through the first 2-3 years before we fired him and hired a tough guy coach to get the most out of our youtng core
Then you realise that bad players put up good numbers on bad teams. And you look at where the Warriors are at...
We traded away most of that core for garbage. The oladipo ibaka trade particularly sticks out. Vooch and fournier are soft. We have no pg and no shooting. Extremely unlucky in the lottery. I can always tell what pick we will end up with. Just ask yourself how many sure fire prospects there are. 4? We will have the 5th pick. Its not fair for me to complain here though since we won the lottery for Shaq, Penny and Dwight (before I was a fan though).
And you look at the Warriors... and the way that the NBA guarantees that the best team wins unlike the NFL. Imagine what the Magic would have to do to win a 7 game series against the Warriors. No FAs come to Orlando. We would have to draft 2 allstars and wait for them to develop for 4 years while building around them properly just to get swept by the warriors in the finals.
That kind of hopelessness is what I've settled into for the last 3-4 years. Its just not like the NFL where the Jags can go from 3-13 to the AFC championship game with a head coach swap and 3 free agent signings. I love the NBA, but the reason I prefer the NFL slightly is because of its unpredictable nature.
Probably a longer response than you wanted but nobody has asked me that question before.
Oh and I forgot to actually answer the question. The orginal GM through the rebuild, Rob Hennigan, was ok. He basically had to panic near the end to try to make something happen. Not enough evidence on the new regime to judge fairly yet. Theyve given us nothing to be excited about yet.

you went back to the Warriors a few times here and I don’t think you should really be concerned with them at all. Even in your best case scenario timeline I doubt this warriors team is still around by the time you’re good again.

That is true and you have brightened my day just a touch. It's still a depressing thought to know that we are half a decade it away at the bare minimum.
