RachieRach - DJ JD DM'd me too - except he said "Hey- I am not saying REM isn't coming, either."
I think he wants us to be properly confused... OR, that REM may not pertain to this clue - but they may or may not be there
That's so great!!! You know what, though? It was mentioned it during this clue and he said that we'd given an incorrect answer that would be the answer to a later clue--REM!
How badace would that be? Thanks so much for sharing!

back to2, find happy songs from the lubbockian- the answer lies in one of them- can't just serve the answer in a sandwhich, you know.
Thats the quote from his twitter...
The Lubbockian being buddy holly.. the same artist who led everyone [supposedly] to "Oh Boy" which happens to be John Prine's record label....
But more obviously is the song "I'm gonna love you too" and from what I read he never really confirmed it.. he just said "would that make you happy?" I can take that for many sneaky meanings... like.. he could be there but its not the answer... or ... he might be another clue later on..... I'm just sayin.. Its fine if everyone says John Prine... but I'm going to have to disagree until there is blinding and obvious proof that its John Prine

secondly... keep in mind... heres how you answer clue 2.. see if this sounds reasonable...
Buddy when jolly > Buddy holly > buddy holly's songs one by the name of Oh Boy > theres a record label with many artists named oh boy> [djjd says orange you smart > someone notices a john prine album has something to do with orange> answer
orrrrrr
buddy when jolly > Buddy holly > buddy holly songs > "I'm gonna love You too (u2)
and it read its a sentence
buddy, when jolly, I'm gonna love you too
Dude, when I get happy, I'm gonna love U2
I dunno.. whatever.. I still think it works and he did say he can neither confirm or deny....

"Totally impressed with guesses on tres, hombres/hombrettes. 2 is still causing suffering, I see. No answer here- tinyurl.com/ycs5wfy 5:20 PM Jan 20th from web "
theres no answer in that link, in other words the songs on there dont lead us to the answer

The Lubbockian IS BUDDY HOLLY >> FIND HAPPY SONGS FROM BUDDY HOLLY.. THE ANSWER LIES IN ONE OF THEM [song name]
And I dont buy that it was a literal.."its not in here" ... thats like playing hide and seek and someone says "no kids in the bathroom...." and you go check the bathroom and boom... kids... I think he was saying it sarcastically

Futhermore I think this further indicates that he cant just "hand over" the answer... which would be the next step... the actual song is the answer.... I really dont think it goes further than that... I mean honestly... what kinda clue needs a dozen hints???? They should be manageable for most fest goers to figure out

Just got back from work to see that the consensus is that two is solved. But If what is up above is true< the answer couldn't be John prine because "Oh Boy" is on that soundtrack right?
hes not allowed to tell us who it is, but he can tell us when a number of people have solved it. he also messaged a couple of the users on here to tell them the answers has been guessed.

I get the whole - buddy when jolly > Buddy holly > buddy holly songs > jolly songs > Oh Boy > John Prine.
Where is this last hints pointing towards sandwich, orange & egos are ______ in this answer, I'm not trying to confuse the facts... i'm just curious everthing is getting covered. & I was around during last year's clues so I know everything is not gonna fit into a little bow, but just checking to see if anyone may have the answers to this part of the hints he gave us. Thanks!
But I will say this- the John Prine set I saw at B'roo 2005 was incredible. He made it rain!
Did anybody see that set?
I concur. Incredible.
Indeed. John Prine calling down the rain 2005 is my number one concert moment of all time. These line up rumors are making me feel very warm and fuzzy inside.

Ego's are bruised, and John Prine has an album Bruised Orange.

I pretty much concede that its John Prine.. I mean I know how these clues work and since there have been no other responses I mean I obviously agree its John Prine but I just want to point out we NEVER would have made it without the dozen extra clues he gave us through direct message tweets and board updates so I hardly consider it a reasonable clue... And thats why I was stating U2 (even tho I know they wont be there) because that would be a way more obvious and easly solved answer...
I mean... why not just make the clue peanut butter
ohhh well Peanut butter is made at land o lakes which has a processing plant in georgia, which is where Michael Jordans grandmother lives, and Jordan once said he hated playing against charles barkley so it must be Gnarls Barkley... I mean c'mon djjd.. hard is one thing... but whats the point of a clue if you have to amend it and add to it like 20 times?!?!

I agree, there were so many clues I was going crosseyed, but I guess we just have to solve them under his terms. No bid deal.

He tweeted about seeing a lot of good clue guessing going on, and that maybe the clues needed to be harder.
