Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Eddie Vedder recently did a live cover of Bruce Springsteen's "My City of Ruins". The song is great. He is selling it on Pearl Jam's ten club web site for 99 cents, and all profits are donated to Haiti for relief. So go check it out. You'll be helping out a great cause and getting a great song for it. PMO
What's uptight about it? We get dozens of new threads created every day in the Troo Music Lounge that have nothing to do with the specified purpose of the Troo Music Lounge. I was just giving you a friendly heads up about it and pointed you in the right direction. I even thanked you for the info.
You should be happy I was even that nice. There are other posters here who would eat you alive for this type of thing.

My ears are burning...
I thought I was being nice to the guy by getting here before you or anyone else.
This is the sorta thing I was talking about in another thread. People get so defensive. All I was doing was giving this guy some info about keeping the Troo Music Lounge clean and he gets defensive about it. Why not just say "Oh, my bad....could the mods move this?" or "I'll try to remember that" or something. Was I so out of line that I have to be called "uptight"? I thought I was helping somebody out lol.

OH SNAP I did something wrong! Should I apologize? No. I should act like a cry baby.
This is why I go the opposite route, my friend - call a spade a spade and be done with it. This board becomes near-useless at times because of the influx of newcomers, and therefore someone has to make sure not just that bad threads get locked, and trolls catch the ban hammer, but that the masses are educated into better posting habits.
I commend you for your gentle nature, sir - were I the first upon this thread, I would not have been so kind.
I used to just point out that it was posted in the wrong thread when I'd come across one like this and people started thinking I was an a$$hole and think I was attacking them. That's why I included a "thanks" and even explained WHY I was posting what I did.
I just gave up pointing people to the right threads - I figure - why should I take the time to locate the correct thread (after all - it's not like my post count might indicate that I know what I am talking about some of the time ) - copy and poste it - be nice about it and then be called a Ann Coulter for doing it and be treated like nuts - so I quit - and then I quit posting for awhile because of it - and now I'm back

I'm not defensive. If anyone sounds defensive it is you. I didn't realize people were so uptight about where threads go. Obviously, in whatever nook-and-cranny sub-board you've moved me to, I wouldn't get nearly as much views as I did by posting in the Troo music lounge. I just think it's funny that it's such a big deal. And thanks for "protecting" me from the computer geeks that were ready to slander me because I misplaced something, but next time don't worry about it. I actually love to agitate them.

Obviously if I make a post about glow sticks in the Troo Music lounge it will get more views than a sub-board.......but the amount of views isn't the point at all. It's about keeping the board as organized as we can. There's a reason for sub-forums.
Also....I didn't move you anywhere. I have no power here.

I wasn't protecting you. Just trying to give you a little info about the forum, that's all. The Troo Music Lounge is designed for the artists playing Bonnaroo that year.
Computer geeks? How did you come to that conclusion?

Thats cool I love to agitate agitators.
First off do not go calling people uptight just because we do not want to read your ridiculous thread in a place where it had no business, sorry you won't get as many views in here, but just because you feel that whatever crappy Eddie Vedder cover you have discovered needs attention, does not mean that I should have to see it in the part of the board slated for current Bonnaroo performers. While you may think it is funny that we all care about keeping that forum clean, just look at the bottom of it, and see how many threads have to be locked daily, it is for Bonnaroo info, not whatever info pmo125 thinks is interesting.
I do like it though when people get moved or locked and get all defensive, I mean that is just good inforoo right there.

^^^to be fair wolfman.....he had a good purpose. All benefits go towards Haiti relief.
but it was still in the wrong spot and he got called out for it. sometimes (in real life especially) people don't like being told they did something wrong. even if the person telling them was just trying to help.
whatever itrainmonkeys, I don't even know you anymore.
lol what?
;D just playin.
i see nothing wrong with telling someone as kindly as you did that the thread they posted is in the wrong sub-forum. would you shelve a porno movie with the family films because "more people will see it"? nope. bad analogy, i know, but still..

Well what really bothers me. as I have said before is people putting their topics in there, because it will get more views. I would love to have a long talk with everyone on the internet about Yo Mommas Big Fat Booty Band, or Camp zoe, but I still put my threads in the proper place. This whole attitude, of I know it is the wrong thing, but I want everyone to pay attention to it, just gets old fast.

good....I thought I had inadvertently pissed someone else off too.
and now this thread is way off topic. did anyone download the song?

Negative reinforcement is an increase in the future frequency of a behavior when the consequence is the removal of an aversive stimulus. Turning off (or removing) an annoying song when a child asks their parent is an example of negative reinforcement (if this results in an increase in asking behavior of the child in the future). Another example is if a mouse presses a button to avoid shock. Do not confuse this concept with punishment. There are two variations of negative reinforcement:
Look. I'm sorry. My intent was never to upset anybody. I actually thought to myself before I posted it "I know it's not supposed to go here, but one, it's for Haiti relief so maybe they will let it slide, since it will get more views here. And two, I guess every band in the world is playing Bonnaroo this year, cause that's how many different music threads there are in the Troo Music Lounge" Don't get so offended because I typed "uptight". Because it is true, you guys are obviously uptight about where things go. I don't think that's an insult, it's just something that I wouldn't think to be uptight about. But regardless. I apologize.
...and I come to the conclusion of computer geeks, because you said there were people who would say far worse to me that what you said. Well if a simple misplacement on a message board is enough to make them verbally harass me, then I would consider them computer geeks.

Don't take it seriously pmo. Most of us are pissed because everytime someone thinks they have the tiniest bit of news the create a new thread in troo. I absolutely love the intent behind the post if that counts for anything.
