The Asheville Lyric Opera recently celebrated its 10th anniversary by featuring a concert by Angela Brown, David Malis, and Tonio Di Paolo, veterans of the Metropolitan Opera.[43] The[glow=red,2,300] ALO [/glow]has typically performed three fully-staged professional operas for the community in addition to its vibrant educational program.

I Googled Lights in Asheville NC, and came across a UFO site with some pretty interesting facts.
The city of Asheville [1] is nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Great Smoky Mountains in Western North Carolina. Asheville boasts pleasant year-round weather and serves as the county seat of Buncombe County. The city has a population of approximately 72,000 and is the largest city in Western North Carolina, the tenth largest city in the State. Asheville has been described as "Paris of the South," "Santa Fe of the East," "New Age Mecca," and "Land of the Sky." It's a city that Self magazine proclaimed America’s "Happiest City," and one which Rolling Stone magazine dubbed "America’s New Freak Capital." Money Magazine has called Asheville one of the "Best Places to Retire," and AARP cites it as one of the "Best Places to Reinvent Your Life." PETA lists Asheville as "America's Best Vegetarian-Friendly Small City."

Could the kinda sorta connection be something as in the fact that Long John Bradley is no longer alive.. meaning dead..? Maybe referring to The Dead??... but more likely Phil Lesh and Bob Weir's new band Further.. Who happen to be playing in Asheville, NC on Feburary 9th, 2010
Im not exactly sure how it fits the original clue but its another thought..

I like where this is going... if in fact you're going in the right direction
Found an extremely weird and tenuous connection; Long John Baldry was nicknamed "Long," because he was tall, 6' 7". The UNC- Asheville basketball team is the Bulldogs. There is a very tall player on the team named, Kenny George, who was recently featured in a Rivals.com article by Jason King. In the same article Mr. King talks about one of his favorite shows, "Friday Night Lights," which includes actress Jana Kramer in the cast. The article also says Jana Kramer is in an aspiring country band, Moonshine; See: rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=jn-kingoftheroad012108&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

The day John Baldry died: On 21 July 2005, four attempted bomb attacks disrupted part of London's public transport system two weeks after the 7 July 2005 London bombings. The explosions occurred around midday at Shepherd's Bush, Warren Street and Oval stations on London Underground, and on a bus in Shoreditch. A fifth bomber dumped his device without attempting to set it off.[1]
