Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I listened to Natural Wonder last night on the drive back from New Orleans, a live compilation from his 1995 tour. While the set will be different at Bonnaroo, it's pretty close to the feel of the 2007 set I saw. Less story-telling, of course, but the songs are there. I definitely recommend giving it a listen.
Still pumping Natural Wonder. I took it off the shelf about a week ago. It's a smoker. He really gets into this set. I like when he plays more Innervisions, but you really aren't going to go wrong with this one.
I don't know if he's changed his set since Dec 07, but he played six out of the nine Innervisions songs when I saw him. I'm guessing we'll get something a little different, but still plenty of those songs. As far as I know, Roo will be his first real show since last summer, so we won't know quite what to expect. I'm so EXCITED!!
I think a large consensus of music "lovers" that are knocking Bonnaroo and are taking their ball elsewhere seems to forget that Stevie Farking Wonder is playing.
Gosh, I am so excited about seeing him that I can't contain it.

This would be a killer setlist _______________________ Uptight (everything is alright) Pastime Paradise I wish For Once in my life Boogie on Reggae woman Master Blaster Higher Ground If you really love me Sir Duke Don't you worry bout a thing Isn't She lovely Too high Blame it on the sun You are the sunshine of my life
At first I wasn't sure I cared to see Stevie this year. But, the consensus seems to be his show will be one of the best. I'm only familiar with Songs In The Key Of Life (which I love!!) and a few hits, but I think I'll definitely be seeing him at Bonnaroo. Hope he plays some stuff I know.
In all of our years of roo THIS will be the first show I will actually see with my sister. I am so excited! Stevie really covers so many tastes. And he is just that good.
Instead of dirt and poison, we have rather chosen to fill our hives with honey and wax; thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest of things, which are sweetness and light.
Keytar Funk solo > Jam > Master Blaster As If You Read My Mind Uptight (badass harmonica solo) For Once in My Life Higher Ground Don't You Worry Bout a Thing (with the crowd doing the vocal for the intro - men doing the bass line, women doing the high part, so awesome) Knocks Me Off My Feet Give Up the Funk > Vocoder jam > Heard it through the grapevine (vocoder) > Sing a Simple Song Groove (vocoder) > Signed Sealed Delivered Sir Duke > I Wish tease Living for the City Give Peace a Chance (crowd) My Cherie Amour Do I Do Superstition A Time to Love > percussion jam Another Star
I loved the show, as I've posted elsewhere. It was short, but Stevie was light on the talking and played tons of music. The cover medley with the vocoder was especially beautfiul, and better than the vocoder stuff he has done at other recent shows. You could feel how spontaneous he was, from all the singalongs, and when he decided to go into living for the city when the band started to play i wish. He was feeding off of the energy of the crowd, which may have been pretty light far from the stage, but was clearly very powerful in the pit. So many highlights, but Don't You Worry Bout a Thing was probably the best part. Even far away, every seemed to be participating in that singalong. I'm sure a lot of people hated A Time To Love -- there seemed to be a mass exodus during that song -- but he brought out a gospel choir and a badass percussion ensemble for an extended jam. He clearly went all out to make it as awesome as possible.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

This was so much fun! I wished he would play more - and I never stopped dancing! The only downer for Wonder's show was that people didn't know the words!?? I was to left of soundboard and was like the only one in my area singing...I was like shouting singing, cause no one around me was! Lol! This brought joyful tears to my eyes - a dream come true for me as I have loved Stevie since the womb.
I know this is rude to say and many times some music is just not in some people's taste, but if you did not like the Stevie Wonder show, you have no clue on what good music is. Seriously. Next to Michael Jackson, this guy is one of the biggest musical icons IN THE WORLD. Like Conan said, "its an honor to be even 500 feet to the man." Even when he came out on stage and started playing, I was still in disbelief that I was seeing him live. One of the best shows I have ever seen and probably one of the best shows at Bonnaroo period.
And I did in fact almost lost my mind during, "Heard It Through the Grapevine".
OK so I haven't been back to this thread since I been back, Great post Bunny. Brewbs ....the name of that first song is Did I Hear You Say You Love Me? MMJJ I was helping all the people around me sing every word, we had a huge sing along around us by the end, but I had to coach them up a bit first, LOL they were being quiet around us! Well, my roomie and I know every word to every tune! Lerxst I think you took the words right out of my mind.
