Yeah I think it is gonna be a folk band or band name with folk in it. Other than MoF all I know is Folk Implosion and don't know if they are around anymore.
I'm sort of inclined to say that DJJD wouldn't give us the artist's genre straightaway.
He also said that "folksy or hip-hop" were "warm" after I mentioned those two genres, which makes me think that it's something close to one of those, but not necessarily those genres themselves.
Then again, this is supposed to be the easy one, right?

That is what makes me think that putting "Folks" right in the clue would make it easy on that aspect
I think he made this really easy and even gave the name of the band maybe... The nadas are a folk band, from what i'm reading they released their album as they worked on it so people could monitor their blogs and progress... Maybe its to much for easy. I do want it to be monsters of folk though

There is a Dave Rawlings Machine Guess up there that doesn't have anything to do with Digital Rights Media except for sharing the initials. They are pretty opposite from Metallica and folksy if your going that angle.

Just a thought - it's possible that when he said 15 had nothing to do with DRM, he meant it literally - 15 doesn't because we had the numbers wrong, but 16 still might. He might have been trying to tell us we had the numbers wrong without stating it outright at first. I wouldn't necessarily rule out the guesses that do have something to do with DRM.
Edit: Oh wait, sorry I just saw the tweet where he said he thought all previous tweets for 15 relate to 16 now, so I guess maybe that does rule out OK Go and the other guesses like that.
