I think Cleveland will close it out at home, not sure if it will go 6 or 7 games. I didn't think they would get past Boston, that ended up in a sweep. I didn't think they would get past the Blue Jays, won that series in 5. They made a believer out of me.
My great grandma lived to like 96 and never got to see the Cubs win a World Series. My dad's family are huge Cubs fans. I'll be going up there Friday. Can't wait to down some White Castles with Old Style followed by a Jager shot behind Wrigley. And it's also my birthday weekend.
Hoping for Cubs vs Indians. That's a lot of historical frustration going by the wayside for some team that could use some joy.
Gross. If you asked Cincinnati sports fans before the season what is the last world series matchup you want see, that answer would be Cards or Cubs vs Indians.
Reds fans hate the Indians? I just can't relate, since Indians fans don't generally have much feeling one way or another for the Reds, or any National League team for that matter. It's just the Yankees, Tigers, and for some the Red Sox that we really don't like. The Browns fans among us (who aren't in hiding) don't really care much about the Bengals either, just the Steelers and Ravens mostly.
No Indians fans on here or what? Yall are going to the friggin World Series man. Congrats.
Thanks! And sorry, I've been pretty busy putting my eyes back in my head and doing double-takes. We thought we had the starting pitching from the beginning, but scoring the second most runs in the AL and continuing to win after losing our #2 and #3 starters has been a shock even to us.

I wouldn't say hate, but most Cincinnati fans will root against Cleveland if they're not playing a rival (Cardinals, Cubs, Steelers, etc)...I would imagine most Reds fans would rather see the Indians win this series compared to the Cubs.

That's awesome! I've never had Old Style, and White Castle pulled out of the area a couple years ago (might have only been about 5 of us left who went there), but that sounds like a good time to me! My old man was a couple months old the last time the Indians won and isn't around this time but he'd be happy to see them getting another shot. It's great that one of the most tortured baseball fan bases will finally get to be on top, but kinda sad that it will come at the expense of the other. Lots of great story lines in this matchup.
I hope you can party it up for your birthday but hope I get to celebrate a World Series.
I believe he's trying to draw a parallel between what is the present national hatred for the insufferable nature of Boston, with what could become a nationwide disdain for the Cubs in the future.

I would just like this opportunity to proclaim my love of baseball stats.
The amount of irrelevant stuff they keep track of is amazing.
The second time a left handed batter has hit a lead off double against a right handed reliever throwing a curveball to a rookie cathcher in the 8th inning of a Sunday night game on the road while the temperature was under 50 degrees and there was over a 65% chance of rain. The first being Chester "the angry badger" Budding for the Washington Senators in 1918.

Those rare events are precisely what causes me to want to rip a power pole out of the ground and parade it down main street.
