So this will be the first time since 1970 that both teams in the World Series finished with 100+ wins each. That's nearly 50 years. And only the 8th time in MLB history.
I seriously don't get that move. A lot of teams are probably gonna jump for Girardi now.
from what I was reading it made it seem like he's considering retiring from coaching, but we'll see, I'm sure someone will dump some money on him. not a lot of managers available with a ring and a +200 W/L record. There was definitely a lull from their last WS to now, but the future of that team seems so strong so it's a little surprising. Torre is my all time favorite manager and he didn't completely embarrass himself after, despite the shoes being so big.
Seeing some tweets that there was some friction between Girardi and Yankees front office this season. Really a stupid move imo.
Anyway that game last night was crazy. Probably the best game I’ve watched all year.
yeah I saw something about Cashman wanting someone who was more analytic based/comfortable. I think if he went to a team that was out of the spotlight like Maddon/Francona did he could have a second wind and end up with another ring.
Crazy stat: Doc Halladay retired in 2013 but still leads the majors in most complete games since 2009 with nine.
Truly one of the top SP's of his era and someone that everybody should look up to. I never liked the Jays or Phillies but was always into his old school pitching style. Not many like that guy these days.
Miami Marlins agree to send OF Giancarlo Stanton to the New York Yankees for 2B Starlin Castro, RHP prospect Jorge Guzman, and SS prospect Juan Devers.
Did Jeter buy the Marlins just to help the Yankees?
It was bad enough Stanton was going to the Yankees
Seeing Miami's return for him is even worse. The Yankees didn't give up shit. Starlin Castro is alright, but he was expendable anyway thanks to Gleyber Torres.
Angels got Ian Kinsler from Detroit. Cardinals acquire Marcell Ozuna from Miami. And looking like Manny Machado (IMO a top 5 power hitter) will be the next big name on the move, rumored to St.Louis, the White Sox, and the Giants. Derek Jeter is still a douchebag.
