Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Polarizing or not, I would still love to see Buffett come back and headline. He certainly meets all the criteria, and his show had the biggest crowd I have ever seen at the Which.
I love cheeseburgers and drinks. Having said that, Jimmy Buffett headlining Bonnaroo would be a laughable, then cryable, then hopefully finally landing back on laughable, offense. It would save me $300 though, so that would be a good thing I guess.

If you ever start skipping Bonnaroo because of one headliner I will feel awful sorry for you, but expect you to have a good time at Pitchfork.
I guess that is why 50,000 Bonnaroo attendees went to see him on Saturday at noon. Everyone knows people who go to Bonnaroo know nothing about music. Sorry you guys suck at music.

For the record, Jess, I wouldn't skip Bonnaroo for a single headliner. It was a joke. The only thing that will stop me from going to Roo is when the bros finally take it over. Coco for your passion and I still <3 you. Money dedicated to paying the artists could be much better spent is all I'm sayin. I do love cheeseburgers though.
^My only point is that he would be popular, albeit not among the 21 year olds apparently. Also he puts on a great great show, the only other person I have seen in the past 5 years who is an entertainer at his level was Sir Paul.
If you don't like Jimmy Buffett, or at least can't appreciate the fun in it, they you don't know how to have fun and probably bitter about your life.
Is his music sophisticated and moving and all the stuff that hipsters obsess over about Arcade Fire and Radiohead for? Of course not. Buffett doesn't try to be.
The most fun I've ever had in my life is at a Jimmy Buffett concert. If you can't go to a Buffett tailgate and have fun, then I don't know what to say about you.
Should he headline Bonnaroo? Probably not - Buffett isn't the same without a massive luau tailgate with cougars, body shots, dance parties, shot skis, blow up flamingos and leis.
His two most popular songs are about margaritas and cheeseburgers.
So what he has 20+ albums, and over 50 singles. Just because you are not familiar with anything else does not mean it is bad. That is like saying Zevon sucks because Werewolves of London is overplayed, or that The Talking Heads sucks because the only song you know is And She Was.

Very true, but you left out inflatable sharks .

Yea except no one says this about either artist.
That is because you are 21, not 33. Zevon was panned all over the place until after he died, and the Talking Heads got little respect until 5-6 years ago.

I got free tickets to a Jimmy Buffett show a few years ago. Went with a few friends, near front row seats, not expecting much.
it remains in the Top 3 "Most Fun" shows i've ever been to. Probaly wouldn't be the same vibe at 'roo, and i understand why you would knock him, but i'm reiterating that the man deserves some respect, because he really is a great entertainer.
I'm not a Jimmy Buffett fan - I don't necessarily mind him being at Roo, but I definitely wouldn't want him to headline. I know he's got a devoted following, but I really doubt he could hold down a headlining set. He was a last minute add in 2009 and opened up the Which Stage; admittedly, he probably would have gotten a better time slot if he'd been announced earlier, but still, I can't imagine any top tier act in the history of Roo getting such a time slot, even if they were announced at the eleventh hour.
Anyway, I'm liking this Daft Punk tour announcement. Even if they don't play at Roo, at least I'll (hopefully) get a chance to see them somehow. I really think AC/Superfly is going to try their hardest to get one or both of them. I'm less keen on The Stones announcement, since they haven't put out anything great in decades. I've never seen them live so I can't comment on the quality of their show, but my expectations aren't super high at this point in their career. Having said that, I still love their music and think they would be a great fit for the Saturday classic rock headliner, even if they did jump the shark 30+ years ago.

God, I hate arguments like this...because people always accuse everyone else of being judgmental and then they fight judgmentalism with judgmentalism like this ponce has done here.
Having fun at a Jimmy Buffet concert DEFINITELY /= having fun in life.
