Goon was a really funny movie with Sean William Scott, way better than expected. If you want a really a cool, creative, gory take on Die Hard, Dredd is perfect. Wet Hot American Summer is a hilarious movie for those who haven't seen it.
This thread is totes my favorite non music thread next to confessions
Edit: Red State was a crazy movie. It's really good, despite what critics said

I watched the 1924 silent film "The Thief of Bagdad" on instant a few nights ago. It was surprisingly very entertaining and attention grabbing. The special effects, besides the monsters, were very good. It's always neat for me to look back on these early films. Fritz Lang's "M" is another good one, but I'm not sure it is still available for streaming.
Just watched Blackfish with my wife. One of those things where I didn't think the subject matter would interest me, but it was absolutely superb. For those who haven't heard of it, it deals with Seaworld and similar parks and their treatment of killer whales. A really shocking and for me an emotionally devastating documentary.

Exit Through The Gift Shop is a fantastic documentary! Also - those of you who like nature-y shows - Mammals is a good series.
I found Humboldt County to be a fantastic movie. Hugo is on there too, which is more popular (got nominated for academy awards in 2012, I think?), but an absolutely lovely movie. Following, a film by Christopher Nolan (I think) is on there too. It's a film noir, and really.. interesting. I liked it. I would give it a watch.
TV shows... Freaks and Geeks. Awesome series. If you like that, try Undeclared. Made by the same producer.
Saw "Cutie and The Boxer" recently, it's about an Asain art couple trying to survive each other in New York. Really wished they were my grandparents, I fell for them so hard. Great documentary

Was this a recommendation for you? Because I feel like that feature never takes into account what I actually like a and watch!
Moving on...this thread is awesome. Netflix has some gems and is well worth my $8 a month for instant streaming.
I've posted on another board here about this, but the documentary "Dear Zachary" is amazing. Also does anyone know when Orange is the New Black is coming back? Everything I find says early 2014. I'm dying.

HOly shit! Dear Zachery...I knew nothing about the film before watching it and I did not see that coming. If you don't know the whole story that documentary is a punch in the gut.
Last I looked The Act of Killing is on netflix. It's not easy to watch but it's an incredible incredible doc.(it's not a snuff flick showing people actually being killed, but the subjects of the movie have murdered 100's of people with their own hands).

"The Square" is a must see doc. I was blown away by how well done it was and the incredible footage they got during the height of the protests in Egypt. There's good reason why it's nominated for an Oscar.

This thread serves as motivation because I have a lot of this stuff in my queue, but I never get around to watching it. Maybe I will take a break from Always Sunny tonight and watch part of one of these.
