yeah dude, but if you're gonna bring tipper out of nowhere, you can at least show a better video than that. he seriously did nothing in that vid. which is kinda what I thought the criticism about skrillex was? I prefer Tipper's stuff myself, but I enjoyed Skrillex's first ep quite a bit too.

ok ok not the best video but im lazy. and the point is any other shit is better than skrillex. he would be a complete waste of a latenight slot at this festival
You all really need to take a step back and realize that this guy is terrible. Please do yourself a favor and don't fall for the trend. If you have any real taste in dance music or dub step or any common knowledge at all you will realize that Skrillex is like the Nickleback of this genre.
Saw him in Austin this past Saturday night (well heard him, never actually saw him was too far back). Had a quacking blast. Don't give a quack if it's just a radio playing his music, it was really fun and I would see him again at Roo.
The attitude that causes this problem of people like Skrillex blowing the quack up. Theres a million and one people who can get a music production program and do such generic Leno with it, the only difference between them and the likes of Skrillex is that they dont know anyone in the business to get them booked.
Theres so many small time DJ's just trying to get by on making REAL MUSIC and its a travesty that any hack with Ableton Live and a friend in the business can start playing festivals at the drop of a hat.
like really? you dont care if he just presses play on his laptop? thats soo beat, why even go? why not just invite over all your friends and bump his CD?

same leno deadmau5 does nowadays too....
deadmau5 actually creates and engineers all his music though, this douche takes remixes and throws in crazy womp every now and then. (based on above video)
Everyone goes nuts for his wobble and dub step except he DOESNT MAKE DUBSTEP MUSIC
he makes electro music (which honestly i love, his electro sound and producing is pretty awesome.) and thinks he can just throw in a wobble. Thats not how it works. Hes using dubstep sounds for electro music and it sounds fucking dumb.
Scary Sprite and Nice Monsters is shit. He packs in so much fucking wobble that it just sounds like crap....Like i said before, he makes scene music for scene kids, aka the dumbest music fans on earth.

This isn't a Clockwork Orange. The government isn't going to chain you down and force you to listen to Skrillex. I expect this type of behavior on the Coachella boards but not here.
I have never seen him live. I personally don't care much for his style of music. But if I encountered someone who did I would definitely respect them for their passion.
btw, I remember when the Chemical Brothers used to bro-fist live to DAT tapes and look at where they are now. So please stop hating.
Edit: Awesome Points in the negative you win. But is the only winning move not to play, Joshua?

I know it's not dubstep. I know it's electro that throws in the bass-wobble, and I think thats EXACTLY what works about his music. It takes the best parts of both genres and mashes them into awesomeness. Why isn't electro allowed to have some wobble? I love me some wobble

I mean, obviously to each his own. But i think thats exactly what doesn't work about his music. To me dupstep is supposed to be this really hard, heavy music. And he doesn't have a hard/heavy sound, its just wobble.
When he first came out i heard stuff and thought, word a little more depth then deadmau5, less housey. a little like wolfgang gartner. Then came all the dubstep and it totaly ruined him for me. I feel like most dubstep in general is too forced and is just done for the novelty of the wobble sound, so theres that too

You guys know that there is dubstep out there that doesn't use wobble bass at all, right? I know arguing genres is silly, but seriously. Dubstep doesn't always = wobble.
