6/8 Tallest Man On Earth
6/11 Local Natives

Hands down best show in my nine years attending Roo was that little band that could, MMJ in 2003, "all the way from Louisville, Kentucky." We walked up on them in a tent having never heard of them, one of the first bands to play Friday noonish and they blew our minds. No one's touched 'em since. Runner up: North Mississippi w RL Burnside that same year. I say goddang.

for me in no order MMJ 08 Byrne 09 Bon Iver 09 Jeff Beck 10 Phish (Sun) 09 Jay Z 10 Stevie Wonder 10 Levon Helm 08 Plant/Krauss 08 Back Door Slam 08 Flaming Lips 10
what really intrigues me about this years lineup is a lot of it is similar to the lineup in 08 (mmj, plant, wsp) which was my first year, so it will be interesting to compare my fourth time to that one
2007: White Stripes, Tool 2008: My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, Sigur Ros, Raconteurs 2009: Nine Inch Nails, Phish (Sunday), Wilco (Hot Air Balloon!!!) 2010: LCD Soundsystem, Flaming Lips, Jay Z
Favorite headliner: Radiohead (honorable mention to Metallica) Favorite Pre-Headliner: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (honorable mention to Beck and The Roots) Favorite Late Night Which: Nine Inch Nails (no others I've seen even come close to comparing) Favorite Late Night Tent: DJ Shadow (honorable mention to Sigur Ros) Favorite Day Time Which: The Mars Volta (honorable mention to David Byrne and Orchestra Baobab) Favorite Day Time Tent: Tortoise (honorable mention to Ornette Coleman, Jeff Beck, and Levon Helm) Favorite Thursday Set: Neon Indian (honorable mention to MGMT, Battles, and Alberta Cross) Favorite Daytime What: Jimmy Cliff (honorable mention to Erykah Badu and Al Green)
Sets I'm omitting because I missed a portion of the show: MMJ in 08 (caught second half from my campsite, so I only heard half, but it was amazing as people say.) Dungen in 06 (only caught the last half, right before Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but that last bit was incredible and really got me into the band.) Zappa Plays Zappa in 09 (Sandwiched in the middle of a conflict with BB King and Levon Helm, I caught the first 25 or so of King, then only 15 or 20 minutes of ZPZ, and all of Levon Helm. I wise I could have seen all of ZPZ, even if Levon Helm was one of the best sets of the weekend.) Gov't Mule in 07 (Even though Flaming Lips had a fun atmosphere and an amazing sound check, when I left after Flips and caught the rest of Mule... I knew where the real shiz was. Amazing.)
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
Went tom '08 and '10. My favorite shows were -Metallica ('08) - Robert Randolph Revival ('08) -Les Claypool ('08) -Lotus ('10) -Jay-Z ('10) Definitely surprised that it was my favorite performance of '10 -Deadmau5 ('10) -John Fogerty ('10) Not a definitive show but I love me some CCR. -The Felice Brothers ('08) -My Morning Jacket ('08) What an epic set. It rained because heaven wept.

"As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master"
Phish 09' was amazing, Trey plucked my brain with his guitar playing, the light show was absolutely mesmerizing, and the fireworks near the end topped it off.
Vieux Farka Toure in 09' was unbelievable, his master djembe drummer was unreal, i haven't been able to find out who he was but he was incredible.
I will forever remember the '09 Phish show and it raining glowsticks. Absolutely epic.

I thought the yeah yeah yeah's killed it. I was also so blown away by Local Natives that I stopped and watched their set, having never listened to their music. I'm an avid fan now. I had an amazing time at Mason Jennings a few years ago, but that was mostly due to some corn.
Worst: Girl Talk?? damn man, thought that was the best time ive ever seen him. Best= Phish?? Thats the band i used for sleep time in 09. I guess we all have diff styles though!
I've seen him 6 times and that was definitely his best show, but Bonnaroo 07 and lolla 08 were also really really good. I enjoyed the Knoxville 08 show a lot because I got on stage.
yeah man like you said people just have different styles in music. I can see why people like him, he brings a great party. He just sounds like cheerleading music to me.
