I had no idea Solomon Burke had died! Man, that sucks. I was 5th row when he played Bonnaroo in '08 and he was great. Such showmanship, and really loved interacting with the crowd. Glad Bonnaroo gave me the opportunity to say I saw one the all-time greats. If I'm not mistaken, this was MJ's first Grammy performance, and he picked a great song too.
As for the others artists, yuck! Everything I've seen was a trainwreck. Couldn't somebody scramble Lady Gaga's egg. Her and Katy Perry make me puke. And maybe the other songs Muse perform are good (I wouldn't know because every time I see them on tv they play the same annoying song), but I do not want them on the farm. Can't be sure but it looked like the guitar player wasn't actually playing. The only performance I really wanted to see, I missed. Does anyone have a link for the Mumford & Sons/Avett Brothers songs?
i really enjoy muse. ya, pretty sure he was playing. not a fan of all their songs but most of them are pretty great. their live show was VERY energetic. there were people of all ages and they were ALL getting into it.
mick jagger is a crazy dancer and it is hard to believe he is in his 60's sometimes. his butt is also like 5 inches wide.
i am glad to see bands like the avetts and arcade fire playing the grammys, now if only they could start being nominated in the "main" categories instead of the same five people for everything.
thought it was weird beyonce was there and jayz wasn't. he must have known he wasn't going to win anything.
